A comparison of January room only vs Stay Play and Dine discount

It looks like it would be more cost effective to add 4 day base tickets to my 4 night stay on this new offer.

2 adults 2 over 10 yrs. with 4 day tickets $1585

With a one day tickets $1071

We currently have two 4 day tickets

So to upgrade 2 one day base tickets would be 232 x 2= $464 not including tax or the fact that there maybe an up charge because they are discounted tickets.

Is this correct? Need someone with disney math skills

if you use the tickets once at a park then upgrade you shouldn't see an upcharge. They will update the current adult ticket price

I show the difference for 2 1 day base tickets to 4 days to be 334 though. It's 167 a piece to upgrade

With s/p/d/ you will be getting 4 day tickets for adults at kid prices. When you upgrade in the park you will be paying the difference in the current price which would be adult.

so a $68 dollar difference in the tickets

I'd use these tickets and save the other ones that you have

We ended up going with the SPD plan for our upcoming February trip.

February 4 to February 12, 2013
Port Orleans Riverside

Rack Rate (with 8 day PH tickets, standard view, no dining) - $2,250
Rack Rate (with 8 day PH tickets, standard view, standard dining) - $3,139
Room Only Discount (with 8 day PH tickets, water view) - $1,960
Stay, Play, and Dine (with 8 day PH tickets, garden view, standard dining) - $2,486

Between RR (with standard dining) and SPD, we saved about $653. Comparing the SPD to the RR without meals, they are almost the same price (save for $236 difference) and that's because all we could get was garden view (not sure why standard isn't available even though it is with the regular rates). So in my case, it is almost like we got free dining.

Thanks everyone, we're staying at the BW. I know DH & I will probably be out and ready to go by 7-7:30 while my 2 DD will meet us later. And I love Epcot.
