A Christmas Decor/Ambience Question

Hello fellow DISers!

From the following choices, which resort would you choose to stay at during the Christmas season? I am fully aware that it will be absolutely packed, but we are DVC members and planning on merely relaxing at our resort and not even hitting the parks (except for Epcot). Therefore, hotel ambience, location to restaurants, and of course Disney Christmas spirit is incredibly important. :) I forgot to mention that "we" includes my parents and me- an eighteen year old.

We have stayed at the Dolphin twice during the Christmas season when I was younger and most recently SSR in 2005 the week before Christmas. Thus, we are not afraid of the crowd level or slightly colder temps.

We are from NH and used to the woodlands theme, therefore Wilderness Lodge is out. Our favorite park is Epcot and most likely we will spend one day there for dinner and to see Illuminations.

Our choices:
Beach Club Villas one bedroom: We actually just got back from an AMAZING stay on Monday in a two bedroom here at the BCV. We are actually debating about going back, which is why this is one of our choices.
Contemporary Resort Atrium Club: We love the idea of concierge and enjoyed it while at AKL in August of 2006. How are the views from these rooms, not to mention the room ambience/decor?
Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club: Not Sugarloaf.
Yacht Club Regatta Club: Have heard barely anything about their concierge level.
Polynesian Resort King Kamehameha Club

We would love to hear your feedback. Thanks!!!!

Contemporary or Grand Floridian. But the Wilderness Lodge is my favourite winter resort.

Agree with the pp, WL is the most gorgeous at Christmas, but I would take GF anytime I could get it!

To me, the GF RPC, would be the best it can get for Christmas ambience. Listening to a live orchestra play Christmas songs while looking at that magnificent tree and the 16 foot gingerbread house. Oh yeah!

We spent Christmas at the Grand in the Royal Palm Club last yr. It was beautiful & I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but DD7 wants Xmas at home for a few more years.

If you are going to be spending a good amount of resort time, I recommend the GF and RPC. RPC is our favorite concierge at any time of the year, but with the Christmas decor at the Grand it feels really special. We live in NW IL, and our house is very much like the WL, so while I love that style, I want something different on vacation in Florida. At the Grand, there is live music in the lobby every eve & they have something different from choirs, bell choirs & brass ensembles.....the whole place smells like Christmas due to the gingerbread house in the lobby. They are cooking & giving out roasted chestnuts outside in the evenings and hand out Christmas cookies & punch during the day. Santa & Mickey & Minnie spend time in the lobby on Xmas Eve. My siggy pics are of my DDs on the 3rd floor near the concierge desks - Mickey & Minnie were taking the elevator down to the lobby and we happened to be there & they stopped for private pics & a little visit with my girls. :goodvibes On Xmas Eve a beautiful platter of Xmas cookies and treats were delivered to our door. We ordered a gingerbread house and tree that were in our room when we checked in. Even with the resort being booked full, the lounge never seemed overly crowded & they didn't run out of food like other concierge lounges do. We are crazy about the Grand & we just LOVE that RPC.;)

The CMs at the Grand are wonderful. We have always enjoyed our RPC vacations. Hopefully we'll be back for another Christmas in a few years!:goodvibes

This is the surprise delivered to our door on Xmas Eve afternoon.....

Lives4Disney-
Love your pics!!

I agree with GF RPC - have done it once at Christmas and would go again in a heartbeat!

Wow- Lives4Disney - All I can say is wow. Those pics have got me sold. Now I see how big images and photography are in marketing. Thank you!!!!

We have stayed at AKL 2 times over Christmas. This year we just made ressies with DVC to stay at AKV so we are excited. To us the atmosphere was phenominal during the holiday season.
