A Christmas Adventure Full of Surprises! (Updated 12/12) PTR link

So, I'm DIEING to tell you guys our huge surprise of this trip, but that's not until the last day, unfortunatly.

Let's start's start!

The night before, we had finished packing, organizing, ect. So all we had to do in the morning was get dressed, pack up the car, and hit the road!

I woke up, wait. No. I was WOKEN up at 4:15 am. That's a whole 3 hours earlier then school days. But, I was excited, so it didn't matter! The only problem was, I was tired, and you couldn't tell I was excited :goodvibes

So, I got dressed, brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, picked up my pillow and a blanket, picked up my carry-on case and went downstairs. I was the last one down. But, then again, I always am.

My brothers headed toward the pantry for some kind of breakfast item, only to be told we would be going out for breakfast. Yay! I love going out for breakfast!

So, my dad finished packing up the car. We all got in. Took a few minutes to get our squares* situated, then headed off! We left our home at 4:45 am.

*It's our personal area in the car. We (the kids) have it set up to our likings. I have my pillow to my side, my shoes on the ground. My phone, iPod, and DS in the little shelf thingy on the door. My blanket either infront of me or on me. And my Yeti  next to me.

So, for the next 3 hours DB's and I constantly kept asking when we would be eating breakfast and where we would be eating breakfast. When you're in the car for such a long time, you get bored fast, and you want to do SOMETHING so the first thing that pops to mind is if you can have a snack.

My dad wants to eat at Chick-fil-a. DB12 is informing us they don't have any good breakfast items and that we should go eat at Bojangles. But, my dad has already decided on Chick-fil-a. Problem is, there is NO chick-fil-a's on any of the exits on the highway we're on (we looked it up, incase you were wondering). So, FINALLY at around 7:30, we pull into a Chick-fil-a. DB's and I are all "starving" and we order our breakfast.

We eat it all up and head back to the car. Only 6-7 more hours.

We drive and drive. Then FINALLY. We come onto those Disney roads. You can tell because all their sign poles are so colorful (and magical!). Well, I was sleeping, and no one bothered to wake me up to tell me we were going under the Disney World sign until... we were under the Disney World sign. No magical pics of it this trip ): And, since we weren't staying at a resort on the MK monorail line, no pics of the Magic Kingdom overhead sign either ):

This was DB10's expression when we FINALLY arrived (at 2:00)
IMG_4151.jpg

Haha

Well, I managed to get one Magical Sign Picture this year.
IMG_4152.jpg

I made my dad STOP in the middle of the entrance so I could take a picture (:

We drove in and parked in at the main lobby area parking lot.
We all wanted to go check in, and since my mom had done the online check-in, we didn't have to wait in the HUGE line that there was! (The Magical Express had just unloaded). We checked in, told where our building was located and the nice check-in lady sent us on our way.

We followed the check-in-ladies intructions on how to get to our building... but when we got to the entrance to the parking lot, it was closed because they were re-doing (i dont know what it's called) the street or whatever. Guess the lady forgot to mention that to us. So, we pulled into the parking lot next to it and got our stuff out. There was going to need to be 2 trips.

So, we walked and walked and soon found Building 28 (Alligator Bayou). We walked up the stairs (We were on the second floor) and over to our room number, 2846.

WAIT. You want to know my FAVORITE thing about Port Orleans? No elevators! Most people would hate that. Not me. I'm scared to death of elevators. So, that was a plus, for me atleast. No one else liked that part.

So, we opened up the door... and saw...

It was cute. Not the Polynesian, but it was just fine.

We got situated, unpacked our clothes, then headed off to... MAGIC KINGDOM!

But, you'll have to wait for that update until tomorrow, or the next day :goodvibes

Nice start, that's a long ride in the car I would have gone crazy:lmao: your room looks cute:goodvibes i wonder what the sursprise is:confused:looking forward to your next update:hippie:

It was a long car ride! I think the car ride back home was shorter. It always feels that way. Thanks!

Fun start! I can't believe they did not wake you up before the signs
you know I forgot that they did not have elevators at the PO it has been so long since we had been there. Can't wait for the next installment!
:wave2:

I love Port Orleans. For the most part it's pretty small and cozy.
I don't think I'd be able to survive in the car that long if I knew we were on our way to Disney World. I definitely give you and your brothers props for that.

Your trip report has me excited! We leave to drive next Friday night (YAY!) and we will be staying at POR!
I can't to read what happens next!

Great start! That's great that you live close enough for a one-day drive. Oh, and I heart Chick-Fil-A breakfast!!!

I know  oh well
Haha, I was a little surprised by not having elevators, since we're so used to it

Yeah. Well, it was SUPER crowded at POR. It seemed like everyone at Disney was staying at POR. The line for the buses back to the resort was usually out of the little chained off area. I don't think there was one bus ride we took where less then 20 people were on the bus.

Yay, hope you have a great time!

Aww we stayed at POR the same time you guys were at POR! Hope you had as much fun as we did :goodvibes

That's cool (:
Thanks! Nice to hear you guys had a fun time!

Thanks! Yeah, after a while the drive doesn't seem so long, which is good if it's a 9 hour drive (:
I love chick-fil-a breakfasts too

Tell me what you find out. Lucky you, getting to ride Space Mountain (most likely)
Will definitely fill you in on it when we get back. I'm not a person that likes to do rides by myself, but I will go on Space Mountain by myself if it is open, just to see what they've done with it. My mom and dad don't do SpMtn and my Mitchell isn't tall enough yet, :guilty:.

Loved your arrival! It's about a ten-eleven hour drive for us also. The anticipation of arriving makes the trip that much longer! :sad2:

I like your room. Def not the Poly but you are still at Disney. So it really doesn't matter much does it? I'm deciding what your surprise is. I'm thinking your dad bought into DVC. Or he booked a cruise/Disney trip for spring. Either would be grand.

MMMMMM I love Chick-fil-a breakfast! Your brother is crazy!! :rotfl: Anyway...wow, what a long drive!! I probably would've filled the air with a chorus of 'are-we-there-yet's? And I'm 19!! :lmao:

Your room looks great!! Girl, you are crazy with your being glad they didn't have elevators!! (Your fear comes from ToT, right? My favorite ride!) I'm not really scared of them, but I'm weird about them. My problem is claustrophobia and I don't like to be in there with way too many people or by myself, in case it got stuck, I would FREAK out!! I don't like being trapped. (Also my problem with airplanes. I'm not scared of flying but small spaces!)

Anyway...I can't wait for more! Especially surprises!! I love surprises!! :woohoo:

Same here, I'd go just to see what they've done with it!

Thank you (:
I know, it really does!

Yupp (except for the nicer things the Poly provides :goodvibes Haha, I'm such a hotel snob)

Hmm, good guesses!

Haha, our car was constantly filled with "Are we there yets?!" "I'm STARVING!" "I'm bored!" "Can we watch a movie?" "How much longer?" and "I need to go to the bathroom... BAD!"

Haha, what can I say I HATE elevators! And, yupp it's because of ToT. That thing has scarred me for life. Yeah, I hate crowded/small places too!

Day 1 Part 2

After getting situated at POR we headed over to the West Depot and waited for our bus. Magic Kingdom, of course. We waited awhile, watching the EPCTO bus go by, then the HWS bus go by, then another EPCOT bus go by, then an AK bus go by, then a DTD bus go by, then FINALLY a MK bus! Yay! We got on and headed straight for the back!

There are 4 stops at the POR: South Depot, West Depot, North Depot, East Depot. Sometimes South Depot is first, sometimes West Depot is first. So, we pretty much always got good seats.

We got to MK, went through bag check, went through the little places where you scan your cards, then saw our first "real" sight of MK:

IMG_4163.jpg

Loos at those pretty red flowers! They were EVERYWHERE! They totally made it feel Christmas-ie-er

IMG_4164.jpg

TOY SOLDIERS! I love them! Aren't they cute?!

We got our picture with Goofy, it wasn't that great because the sun was in our eyes, so we decided to get another one later

The wreaths that were hung up high

ANNNNND...
IMG_4168.jpg

THE CASTLE!

We headed right over for TTA to see what they've done with it!
IMG_4170.jpg

IMG_4171.jpg

WARNING: If you do NOT want to know what TTA is like until sometime in the future when you go to WDW, skip over this next part that is in GREEN!

So, first off, You're going the opposite way! Instead of Space Mountain first, I think it's stitch or the city first, I can't remember. But it's a different way, somehow. Well, everything was pretty normal. Until we got to the SM part. We went in... and ALL THE LIGHTS WERE ON. You could see the WHOLE huge ride! It was super cool. They had big walls up so that you couldn't see some things though. I guess they're trying to keep it a surprise!
When we got to the part where they're supposed to have "Paging Mr. Tom Marrow. Mr. Tom Marrow" I nearly cried that it wasn't there. Haha. Instead they have some guy informing you about your whereabouts.

All-in-all it was okay. I personally like it better before, but seeing SM in light was pretty cool.

After TTA we headed over to POTC!
IMG_4178.jpg

It was awesomeness, of course!

After that, DB12 and I got Coke Slushies!
IMG_4179.jpg

IMG_4180.jpg

It was heaven. Seriously. It was that good.
At first, we were a little surprised to be getting a snack because we're not used to getting snacks all the time like that, but we caught on quick (:

Next we rode HM, another family favorite!
Then over to the Tea Cups (:
IMG_4181.jpg

IMG_4182.jpg

Then Barnstormer. I personally don't like it. It's over in 2 seconds. (25 seconds after the drop, to be exact). And, this time the line was like 10 minutes long. Who wantes to wait in a 10 minute line for a 2 second ride?
DB10 did. So why not ride the ride instead of wait?

As we got off Barnstormer I saw Mickey&Minnie's houses. We haven't been in them since I was little, so I told my mom I wanted to go in and look, and she forced DB's to go in too :goodvibes

We went in Minnie's house first
IMG_4187.jpg

Look at her cute tree!
IMG_4188.jpg

Let me just tell you, Minnie has a dream house. I want to live there (:

Then to Mickey's house!
IMG_4191.jpg

IMG_4192.jpg

And his garden...
IMG_4193.jpg

IMG_4194.jpg

Isn't it so cute how their houses are even decorated for Christmas?

After that we were ready for Dinner
I wanted to eat somewhere we haven't eaten before, so I suggested...

Guess You'll find out next Update (:

Great update! The TTA sounds so fun. And the Magic Kingdom looks even more magical during Christmas.

Great start! The MK looks so nice with it's xmas decorations. I have plans to see it in person tomorrow. Have a great thanksgiving!

great pictures! MK looks so pretty, I can't wait to see it next month, thanks for sharing. I hope my girls are as excited as you were when they go. I can't wait to read and see more!!!popcorn::
