A change to VMK Pass in the future?

I have I was just posting my opinion that since the lines not made it into host game

Today after the host event there were a few of us just standing there at the entrance of host_phinny's room and she was there and a girl said I hat vmk pass I have been waiting forever and didn't even make it. And fin said she doesn't care much for it either.

I am personally very happy to hear that and it makes me think there is hope for vmk yet. She let 5 of us in and gave us a prize on her because we were actually there and mad we missed it by 6 minutes.

You have got to be kidding!? I was the first one in last night after she closed the gate! I stood there for a minute or two and waited for her to finish her line. She was saying goodnight to everyone in the door and saying sorry, so I left because everyone was getting a little rude, and I didn't want to be associated with the rudeness. You mean to tell me that if I had stood there, I would have gotten a prize? AHH! How rude! lol

As for the pass, its a great concept, but I believe that they should stop offering them halfway through a host game. At 11:28 last night, I got into Phinny's room, only to be welcomed by a closed gate. They were still offering passes at that time for a room that she stopped letting people into. I stood there and watched the last 10 people in front of me try the game and watched about 10 other people come in behind me. All while more people were still allwed to get in the line from the rooms list. If they stopped offering the pass about halfway through, they should still be able to finish the line of people that have the passes. Yes it needs a limit of some sort. It is ridiculous that it closes 2 minutes early and yet you are still able to get a pass.

I used to work at those photo places at the mall, and even though we didn't close until say 9pm, we would cut the line off about an hour before. Which gave us the opportunity to finish the people in line, but did not make people wait in line for a service they weren't going to get.

I agree with mal on the pass but disagree on the lines since VMK pass I have not made it in one host room not even the teleporter games! the teleporter games were once at 42 lines how is that an improvement mal? A line of 42 moving real fast to a line of 600 moving kinda slow and kinda fast before i made it into the teleporter game to try for it 5 times a night now I can't even make it in once and those games were the easiest to make it in? tell me that's better? Now I can't make it into any host even because they won't make the pass hideable till it blinks because once in club 33 I made it in numbeer 6 and clicked exit by accident so the host games are a bad idea they need a limit of lets say 200 or 300 even to let people through just my 2 cents you don't have to agree or disagree.

No, you asked me a direct question about "Lines" when I already have stated numerous times I think they need more lines even with the PASS.

I have to agree with Mal too. I made it into Jewel of N.O. with three characters last night. The first two I did the two open windows thing. The third I did not get a PASS I just did the old fashioned wait in line.

It would be better if they ran two of the same games at a time so the lines were not so long. However I wonder if they did that if everyone who has taken a break from Host games because of PASS would come back and then there would be two lines of 600+ and we would still be debating this.

I for one was not willing to click, click, click for the entire 3 hours a game was running trying to get in. The few times I did try that back before PASS if I didn't win the first or god willing second time in I gave up. I hated not being able to do anything but click for an hour plus.

To reuse an analogy from earlier. I would rather get my shopping done while waiting for dinner even if I didn't get to eat than to stand outside the restaurant and try the doors over and over for the same amount of time and never get let in. All the while watchhing them let others in around me.

I totally disagree with you the PASS is a GREAT thing....with out it I would never get into a host game and I have a super fast connection and a brand new AMD computer .... so alot of players must not have been getting in.

At least with PASS we have at least a chance to participate in HOST events.

Sorry some of you do not like it but I think for the majority of VMK it is a GREAT thing!

I like the pass don't get me wrong I thing Phinny is a rude person just to boot you as soon as she sees your face!

They need to do one of two things:

1) Open more rooms so more people have a shot
2) limit the queue to say, 200

Waiting 2 hours in line only to have the rudest host on the web BOOT you without so much as a "Sorry we are closed" is just plain WRONG
Same story at the restaurant. You have your pager and their closing time comes up, but your table just cleared, and they grab the pager back and shove you out the door, or, even nicely, say "sorry, we are closed now" How angry would you be that you just wasted all that time waiting to get in?

I was the last to leave and got to talk to fin a little bit and she agreed with me that while vmk pass does wonders for people who have time to play vmk and want to get stuff done but also want to be in a line but it isn't so great for people who don't have but an hour to play or for people who can't join right away. She said 600 people is way too many for a line.

If a host doesn't like it, then at least I'm not the only one out there. She told me that at least for host games there should be some kind of limit. It isn't really fair for the people who are in line for an hour or two and miss the room by 2 minutes. At least before with a limit they were able to let all those people have a free prize or finish the game.

Well thats my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. If you agree with me I'd love to hear it to know I'm not the only one unhappy with the changes recently made. Don't get me started on fireworks

I am not so mad about the pass for say, I got 4 charters is line but didn't take the pass (this way you do not have to move every 10 min.) We went out to dinner and after about 2 hours I was in. The thing that stinks is because of the long lines when you loose the game (which I always do) there is no chance of getting back in. The other thing that really burns my biscuits it the fact that my daughter got in line tonight at right about 7:00 she waited in line and made it in at about 8:45. The minuet the room came up phinny booted her. WOW THATS VMK VALUES in a nut shell, like it was her fault some ppl took too long in the room which made the line slow and she didn't make it in by 8:30. VMK if you are reading this cut the line off when it hits a number that will not make it in the room by closing time, and if that's not possible offer some type of consolation prize to those who sit in line for an hour and a half but didn't make it!!!!!! After listening to my six year old crying in her room for 30 min when a HOST booted her, I wanted to swing phinny around by those cute little red ears! Ok I am done venting for now, sorry but its just not fair to the kids!

The game has bought tears to my eyes at times. Hugs

Well, anyway, because of VMK Pass, they extended the queue, everyone has a chance to play, like now, an hour left in the game and a queue of 800+ and I am JUST NOW really able to get on. Do I have a chance to play?

I understand- I never seem to be able to make it on at start of the games- and when I checked earlier and the Queue was 841 people I didn't even bother trying...

I think the idea of the pass is good- allowing you to be in line and still do other things- but I think they still need to limit the queue some- maybe not as low as 50 up to two hundred would probably be good and manageable- save on some of the clicking but short enough for those fast games to make it back in if you guess wrong...

Another idea would be to stop advertising the staff games that aren't fast... so that it really would be luck of the draw to get in- and people would be less likely to plan their lives around the games- because they wouldn't know when some of the things would pop up...

The other thing that would help is to increase the number of staff rooms open at any given moment... the teleporter games don't really need active staff in them- so more than one of those could easily be opened And the other games would just have to be first come first served...

she has booted me like that on a number of occassions. She does not seem to understand that the rooms dont load that fast for some. Usually, it takes about a minute to get the host room loaded for me. I have never, not once found her to be friendly, personable, or likable. In fact, I have seen her act quite rudely on dozens of occasions. sometimes she is downright mean. she seems to believe that she is entitled to her job and we exist because of her.

Hula is the complete opposite of Phinny, she seems to understand that she is dealing mostly with CHILDREN and people who are not always running top of the line computers and T3 connections. She is friendly, personable, likable, and most importantly, she understands that her job is one of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Her job exists to help people and to make their time in VMK more enjoyable.

The pass is useless to me. Most days, I do not have 2+ hours to wait around watching the number drop. Before, I could get in and out of a host event in under 45 minutes, unless it was something like Hula's Yard Sale or a Trade event.
