~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

See, the pants thing would be less of a problem here in the south. Our older southern gentlemen seem to like the...loud pants at the holidays. Ii think Lois' suggestion of a golf store would work too. Again - loud pants.

Angry Bird. Hah - having seen some of V's less than happy faces, I think that would be a perfect fit.

I feel better when I eat "real" - less processed. The big excuse is the fact that I don't like grocery shopping and Cale does it with his mom every Sunday, meaning I can stay home and sew rather than shopping. I made a list and he didn't quite get it right, and don't even ask him to get things like yogurt (he won't eat it) or leafy greens (iceberg all the way.) I did stop by the store last week and pick up some chicken thighs that I broiled. He enjoyed eating that, but his interpretation of "Chicken Breasts" was to get breaded. At least he does like things baked, rather than fried everything.

Husbands. :rolleyes2

Have a great day all.

I can't wait to see the outfits. I hope you get to do everything you want to get done in your sewing room today.

Thank you for asking how my cats and I am doing
The cats are doing better. At least they are now eating and my oldest cat want's to play with me for a short while every day. So that's good.

Ever since I picked up my cats from my grandma's house I haven't seen my oldest cat eating very much. My friend has told me he thinks my oldest cat eat at night, but I haven't believed him. Last night I stayed up until 03.30 am because I wanted to attend a chat meeting on the internet with people living in Seattle.

While I was up and awake I saw my oldest cat eating many times. So my friend was right. My oldest cat has started to eat more at night than he did before I lost my other cat. But I still think they are eating too little. At least they are eating and that's the most important thing right now.

I'm doing good.

Please, do keep going on and on about the costumes! I love reading all about them. They are going to look so cute in them. I can’t wait to see photos! :thumbsup2

lovedonaldduck, I hope you get everything done in time. Good luck!

I am excited to see the finished product on the costumes!

So, running to the mall for the girls yesterday was a little hit or miss. I was able to get Charlotte a matching dress to one I had bought Peyton for back to school. I had to go a size up, but she tried it on this morning and it is going to work fine. I still wasn't able to find leggings for her to wear with it, but if it's warm enough, I think I'll just skip leggings for her. If it's too chilly for bare legs, she has a pair of sweatpants in the right color that make work under the dress. I'll need to get her to try that on together and see what I think. I was hoping to pick up a couple of headbands that matched the dresses but I was only able to find some ponytail bands. I spent a little extra time at the store and was able to get Peyton a couple of outfits for one of her Christmas presents, then I got an email from Gymboree this morning for an extra 50% off online only and the stuff I bought yesterday is included in the sale. So, it looks like I'll be ordering online and returning what I bought yesterday.

Our Christmas pictures are pretty much settled. We're having them done at the Beach Club on our last full day at Disney. Going with a teal and blue color scheme. I'm not sure if I'll be wearing my boots, flats, or maybe even flip flops. The girls both need new dress shoes so what I find for them may help me decide what I am going to wear.

I still have lots to do to get ready in the next 11 days but I am making progress!

Super happy you got the outfits for the girls for pictures... I remember those days... I was an asst. mgr at Gymboree for years - so every photo of my girls from about age 5 and below - they were always matching/coordinating perfectly... I loved it! I still long for those Gymboree days...

I hope you are able to share the pictures with us. :thumbsup2

Yay!!! 10 days now!!! Soooo exciting!

How cute Mickey and Minnie costumes for Gus and Alli. Hope we can see a picture. I had ears made from my nieces party I could have sent you, but the problem is I made them for children. They would be too small for Gus.
Have a wonderful day!

I've already told Alli that I plan to have Gus sign a photo disclosure - LOL... These pictures are going to be so adorable - I plan on sharing them everywhere.

No worries about the ears... I just plan on making some for him - it's all good. :thumbsup2

It's a shame you couldn't find red pants for Gus. Did you try a re-sale shop or golf store? Sometimes Goodwill has that type of thing. And wouldn't it have been great for them to both have those lighted Mickey ears? At any rate, they will be adorable as Minnie and Mickey!! Glad you are enjoying making their costumes.

I hit a snag in the Anna dress and had to walk away from it. In all my years of sewing I've never had a problem I couldn't figure my way out of. This may be the one. I was very frustrated yesterday, to say the least. I'll wait a couple of days to try again.

We did get the upper cupboards installed and they look great. It's been so long since we ordered them I'd forgotten how pretty they were. And they have soft close doors!! I knew the drawers were going to be soft close, but not the doors as well. Bonus! I'll post a picture on my ptr.

Hope that cough disappears soon. They tend to hang around a loooong time and it's no fun! Have a great day sewing. Can't wait to see these costumes and the latest bag.

I did try a couple of resale shops, since I was near them - but no luck. Alli and I finally broke down yesterday and purchased him a pair of black pants... It will have to do.

Bummer about the Frozen dress... I wish I could help you out with that - but I am not an expert in clothing making at all. I sure hope you are able to figure it out.

Glad you are making progress on the kitchen... It must be such a relief!

It's going away, slowly. It's not as annoying as before... Hopefully in the next few days. ::yes::

ROFL... I love your description of southern gentlemen... Hehehe... I can see that. I don't even know where to look for a golf store? Remember - it's winter here now, and I think most of them in this part of the world are in the actual clubhouses at the golf courses - which are now closed. :confused3

Hehehe... I know - I was thinking the angry bird would be great for her - she has some great angry faces. :rotfl2:

LOL about Cale... I can see that. I hope you are able to find a solution that works for you... Sometimes I have to be very descriptive with Josh... But he is pretty good about my food choices these days - I think he is used to it, and he realizes that I am not going back to eating processed foods.

I hope you have a wonderful day too!

I can't wait to see the outfits. I hope you get to do everything you want to get done in your sewing room today.

Thank you - I am super excited about these outfits... I cannot wait to share them with you all!

I am glad your cats (and you) are doing better, and I am also happy to hear they are eating... Sneakly little guys - making you worry. Hopefully things will continue to get better.

Please, do keep going on and on about the costumes! I love reading all about them. They are going to look so cute in them. I can’t wait to see photos!

lovedonaldduck, I hope you get everything done in time. Good luck!

I am super excited to share them with all of you! So far, they are turning out fantastic!

**********************************************************

Well, yesterday - I worked out right away... And I was up to my sewing room again early.

I was able to make the waistband on Alli's skirt smaller, and the skirt turned out fantastic... She actually LOVES it - which is a HUGE accomplishment for me! Yay Momma!

Then I worked on the applique for my current custom order all day... I did not finish it - it's quite detailed. I am not even sure if I will finish it today? I hope so, but I have a lot going on.

The girls had appointments yesterday afternoon - so I had to spend a bit of time in town. Allison and I managed to get a pair of black pants for Gus though... It's a bit weird buying pants for my daughter's boyfriend... but it's all for a good cause. :thumbsup2

I took them out for dinner, since we were late in town.

Then I came home and worked on more Halloween stuff... I was super excited yesterday... I really wanted to do shirts for Alli and Gus - I had an idea... So, I asked around, and one of my digitizer friends offered to digitize my design idea on the emboridery machine! :woohoo: An hour later, I had the file in my inbox to test... Heather Sue is just the best... Not only is she the best digitzer out there - but to get it done for me so quickly - when I know she is super busy herself... Well, I was just so grateful! So, after dinner last night, I did a test run of the design on felt... It's so CUTE! And then I was brave and I did it on Allison's shirt... Which makes me EEK a little bit... but I didn't wreck it... there are a few puckers - but they aren't too bad. For those who do designs on tee shirts all the time - I don't know how they do it? It's a bit complicated, and not something I ever wish to do again. Sadly - I have to do Gus' tonight... LOL Wish me luck!

Today will be crazy again...

I need to do my heavy lifting right away this morning.

Then I need to get upstairs as soon as I can, and work on that applique. Pray I finish it today, as I will not be working at all tomorrow, and the only time I have to work this weekend is Saturday night. So, I really need to finish this bag applique today.

I do have to go to town at some point today, and pick up a few necessary things. I should have done it last night - but I wasn't thinking. Sigh.

Gus is coming over tonight... They weren't going to see eachother at all this week, until Friday night, but some how they managed to make room in their schedules for this evening... I was hoping his shirt would be a surprise - but it looks like he might get a sneak preview tonight.

So, that's my day... Stuffed full... Just how I like it. ::yes::

I hope you all have an amazing day!!! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

D~

i can't wait to see the costumes! i think it's great that they are doing coordinating costumes.......she definitely found a keeper there!!!:) Hope you find time to get it all done!

Good luck getting everything done! You certainly keep yourself busy!

I love that at Gymboree the girls can either match or coordinate even though Charlotte is only wearing a size 4 and Peyton is in a 10. I am getting myself into trouble though, now every morning if Peyton is wearing something that Charlotte has as well, Charlotte wants to change to match her sister. :confused3

I'll definitely share our Christmas pictures once we are back from Disney. I'll actually share my favorites from the last few years - this will be our third year in a row getting the pictures taken while at Disney.

I'm not sure I accomplished anything for the trip yesterday, I am trying to wrap up a big project at work and I'm not finding much free time.

I have a question on your work out routine - it looks like your ideal is lifting 2 days a week and doing one of your DVD workouts the other 3 weekdays - how long is each workout? I'm needing to incorporate something into my schedule, so I'm just curious how your program works out. Heading to an hour and 15 minute yoga class on Sunday with my girlfriends - it ought to be interesting/fun.

Good luck with the costumes. Your before and after pictures are amazing! Very inspiring.

Oh, Cale appreciates that I feel better (and he's all for that) when I eat "real" and he likes the food I make, when I get to, he's just no good at shopping for it. He tends to fall into habits.

I haven't done any big t-shirt designs, but the little ones I've done were fairly easy - but maybe that's because I pin the snot out the stretchy, sneaky, knit fabric.

Terkina - sneaky little cats - and dogs, we rarely see our dog drinking because he likes to slurp it up at night. Hopes that things continue to get better.

Thanks for thinking about me and my cats, it means a lot to me.

Good luck with making Gus shirt. I think you will do just fine.
I hope you get everything done that you want to in your sewing room today.

Have a great day :)

Can't wait to see how their costumes turned out. Sounds cute!!

Glad your starting to feel better. Now Baby Jeffrey and I are sick. :( Hoping we feel well enough and that the rain holds off so we can go trick or treating tomorrow.

I am super excited for them! They are going to be adorable! I agree, a guy who lets you dress him up for Halloween is totally a keeper - especially since we haven't told him a single thing about his custume, so he is coming into this blind. ::yes::

Good luck getting everything done! You certainly keep yourself busy!

It's nice to be busy with fun things again.

I cannot wait to see all of the pictures together, I love progression pictures! :woohoo:

Yes, I lift 2 days per week, and then I do my DVDs 3 days per week... M/W are mandatory and Fridays are optional, but since we've returned from our trip, I've been doing Fridays as pennance - which I should be done with anytime. LOL I talk about this more in depth in my blog... but my work outs are no more than 30 minutes... I don't have a lot of time to devote to working out, and I'd talk myself out of it if they were any longer. :thumbsup2 Yikes! And hour + 15 minutes of Yoga???? How did that go? I've been meaning to try yoga again, since I am in much better shape now, but I haven't yet. It was quite comical the first time I tried... ::yes::

Good luck with the costumes. Your before and after pictures are amazing! Very inspiring.

Thank you, and thank you! :lovestruc

Can you have "shopping lessons"? I'd take him to the store and say... When I say "chicken breasts" this is what I mean... LOL Because I can see where it could get lost in translation...

Yah - I pinned the crap out of Gus' last night, and that seemed to help a lot - hardly any puckers at all. But the tees I did for each of them were totally different fabrics - Alli's was way stretchier than Gus'. Oh well - they will probably wear them for 5 minutes and be done with them anyways. :confused3 They are cute though, so maybe not?

Thanks for thinking about me and my cats, it means a lot to me.

Good luck with making Gus shirt. I think you will do just fine.

Yes - You've been on my mind. I am glad to hear that things are going better.

Thanks! It went well... I am very excited for tonight so he can see what I've made. :thumbsup2

You too!

Can't wait to see how their costumes turned out. Sounds cute!!

Glad your starting to feel better. Now Baby Jeffrey and I are sick. :( Hoping we feel well enough and that the rain holds off so we can go trick or treating tomorrow.

Oh no!!! I hope you all are feeling better soon... Poor baby and momma!

**********************************************************

I had a great day yesterday...

I did my heavy lifting right away.

Then I went straight upstairs... Heather Sue sent me a new file in the morning, which worked perfectly, so I stitched out the test run of Gus' first... So cute!!! I texted a picture to Allison at school, and she loved it. :lovestruc. So, then I prepped Gus' shirt, so I could embroider it later.

After that, I worked on the applique for my custom order this week... I was amazed that I actually finished it! :woohoo:

I had to run to town again yesterday, so I offered to pick the girls up from school - only Alli wanted a ride home, so I picked her up and brought her home.

Gus came before dinner and stayed for dinner - then took Alli to town for a church thing.

While Gus was here, we had a talk... Where I received permission to post any and all photos I take of them tonight on the internet anywhere I want to. :woohoo: So, YES - I will be posting pictures here - and they can stay up. Yay!

I finished Gus' shirt while they were gone.

Then I went to town and picked up Alli again.

Phew - lots of trips to town lately... Kind of annoying.

Today...

I will be working out this morning... Since it's Friday and Halloween - I might use my "optional" Friday off, and not work out today. I feel badly doing that - since I took a few days off, when I was sick, the week before last... :confused3

I am meeting Myrthe's mom for an early lunch and shopping this morning. I am pretty excited! I really love her family a lot. Great people. They are here for the next 3.5 weeks from The Netherlands... So I need to send BMT's Christmas gifts home with them... I have Thomas' ready to go, but barely anything for Brian and Myrthe yet... I need to get that done!

I have to stop at Papa Murphy's on the way home and grab pizzas for dinner.

And I need to be here before the kids get home...

It's going to be a fun night! :woohoo:

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!!! Be safe tonight! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

I hope you have a great and fun day with Myrthe's mom.

I can't wait to see the pictures of Alli and Gus.

Hope you have a great day today! Looking forward to seeing pictures of Gus and Alli's costumes.

The yoga class is this coming Sunday so I will let you know how it goes. I needed to get a new yoga mat yesterday so I ran to Target and for just $10 more I was able to get a yoga for beginner's kit with a mat, band, block, and DVD. I told my girlfriends I was going to practice today and tomorrow because I am so uncoordinated and not the least bit flexible - I need to prep for the beginner's yoga class. :crazy2: I'm hoping if we do a class on the weekends together, I can maybe do the DVD a couple days a week and actually have a work out routine.

Shopping training? Ah - see, if I shop with anyone else I kind of...zone out. Like, Zombie-Woman zoning levels. Cale HATES grocery shopping with me. And not to mention my Dog Show selection process. Well, he actually thinks that's kind of funny.

Hope your Halloween (and all those around you) is safe and happy and full of cute pictures!

Sounds like you've been pretty busy the last few days! I LOVE Heather Sue's stuff! She is masterful at digitizing! Can't wait to see the outfits. In fact, when I'm finished here, I'll jump over to FB to see if there's anything posted there.

Embroidering on knits can be difficult. I find it helpful to use a no-show mesh stabilizer ironed onto the inside of the shirt. That keeps it from stretching if you are hooping the shirt. I'm sure you are the only one who will notice the puckers!

Dan took yesterday off and we worked all day, from 8AM until 6PM at the condo! We'll do it again today, but it's a little hard on me. Just my hands since I'm doing a lot of painting. I've had arthritis in my hands since I was a teen, so they can flair up and really hurt. But I have never let that stop me, or I would never get anything done. I will say eating whole foods and no processed has helped them a lot!! I'm glad you're so dedicated to your new way of eating. Do you think Josh and the girls will ever embrace that for themselves?

Okay, I'm going over to FB now to check it out. We'll be going out for breakfast soon, then to Home Depot, Lowes and finally the condo. I am itching to get back to sewing, but don't know when that will happen. Hope you are having a great weekend!!

I hope you have a great and fun day with Myrthe's mom.

I can't wait to see the pictures of Alli and Gus.

Thanks Lillian! I had a wonderful lunch with Myrthe's mom... They are like family to us, and I really enjoy spending time with them.

I know - I am so excited to share them - they turned out so cute!

Hope you have a great day today! Looking forward to seeing pictures of Gus and Alli's costumes.

Thanks Jennifer - I am so excited to share these pictures... They had a great time - Gus was such a good sport, and as promised, let me take as many pictures as I wanted to. :thumbsup2

Score on the yoga mat set - cool! LOL - I would have to practice for beginners yoga too, I totally get it. I am the most uncoordinated person in the world (except for many Allison) - so I would spend most of my yoga time on the floor trying to get my body to do what I want it to do. :confused3 Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

LOVE you and LOVE the pic Of A this morning!!!!!

LOL!!! Yah - that was a great picture! I'll have to share that one here too - I'd forgotten about it.

Love you right back!

Can't wait to see how the costumes turned out! Happy Halloween!

Thanks! I am very excited to share them with you all! Thank you! Happy Halloween to you too!

Hahaha... LOL Well, it was a thought. Maybe a picture list? LOL

Thank you - I hope you had a wonderful Halloween.

Yes - I love Heather Sue... She was so sweet to take time out of her schedule to digitize that for me - I know she is very busy, so it really meant a lot.

Glad you were able to get so much done yesterday! And kudos for not letting your arthritis pain stand in your way - I cannot imagine! I hope you get time to rest today though.

I am not sure if the girls ever will? I think Alli is starting to lean that direction - but she is not ready to take on the meat eating portion yet. So, I am trying not to push her - when she is ready, she will. But I do know, every once in a while, she is tempted by meat... So it's probably only a matter of time? I hope.

Thanks Lois! I hope you have a nice weekend too!

**********************************************************

So, yesterday was really a fun day!

Alli dressed up in a different costume for school... She chose Rosie the Riveter... I loved it - it was so easy to do, and she was able to wear stuff we just had laying around the house.

10403603_10205444497900653_6275790863157343620_n.jpg

I went up and had lunch with Myrthe's mom... I love her family! I really think of them as an extention of our own family... The girls love them, and most times, I feel like they are more Grandparent-like than their own grandparents... But I won't go into that. We had a lovely time, and a wonderful lunch! The are coming to our house for dinner next week... So, I need to have my Christmas shopping done for Brian and Myrthe by then. YIKES!

I picked both girls up from school yesterday and brought them home.

Allison got ready and Gus came at 4.

Meanwhile, Victoria started plotting to go to a friend's house... Which, they picked her up and the spent the night there. I hope she is having fun! This is a friend that she has never stayed at before, this friend has stayed here a few times though - so I am better about it. I have to pick her up today, as we have plans this afternoon.

Anyways... Alli and Gus got ready... OMG - they just crack me up... Poor Gus - his pants didin't fit... But he made it work - holy cow though, Alli and I were laughing so hard, tears were streaming down our faces... But seriously - he was such a good sport, right down to the red suspenders - he happily wore everything Allison picked out for him - and even loved the shirts I made. :lovestruc

In the end... They are so freakin' cute - I cannot even stand it!

Once we finished pictures... Our fingers and hands were numb and purple - it was really cold here. So, they changed into their matching Mickey PJs (supplied by Allison's jammie drawer)... Painted on noses and whiskers... Then wen't out to Trick or Treat...

20141031_182624.jpg

20141031_183208-1.jpg

After, they dumped out all of their candy on my livingroom floor, and proceeded to tell all of the jokes on their abundence of Laffy Taffy... (forgive my messy livingroom...)

20141031_184901.jpg

It was such a FUN night! Worth every moment of cramming to get it all done! Gus even asked if he could keep his shirt. :thumbsup2

Today... Allison works 9-1:30... And it's Olivia's confirmation at 1:15... So I am picking V up from her friend's and heading straight that way... And Gus is picking Allison up from work and bringing her to the Confirmation after... Gus is totally saving me today, because otherwise none of us would be able to be there.

Then we are coming home... Josh is supposed to be home tonight... I didn't tell you all, you know - internet safety - but he has been hunting in Nebraska for the last week with MM... Lots of hunting trips this year - it's his consolation prize for our Disney trip. :thumbsup2 So, we are looking forward to having him home again... We haven't seen him or MM much lately.

That's all!

Thanks for letting me share these pictures of the kids here - I enjoyed every moment of this... Alli is already planning her theme for next year - and it's a Disiney theme... I can totally go for this - if she doesn't do Disney for WDW, but she does it for Halloween - at least Halloween is a guaranteed holiday every year. LOL :woohoo:

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! And a great weekend! :grouphug:
