Just want to stop in and catch up. Another update!! Love the pic with Stitch. Work was has been so busy this week, I can hardly keep up with it.
Have a great day!!!

I am finally all caught up again. Love all the pictures. Sounds like it was a great time at Epcot. We really didn't have much luck with the Magic shots while we were there. However, I blame my kids for not wanting to stop to have a picture taken. I love all the poses and am keeping mental notes for our next trip. Disney blues has hit harder now that the August and September calendar has been released. Plus, Disney and travel agent are sending me tons of emails and mail, trying to get me to book and I so want to. Trying to stay strong.

Hah - you have guest stars in your trip too! And you are the "special guest star" in a lot of others, what with your bags and all...

Just checking in -saying hi y'all.

Those are really cool!!! I love them! You are so talented! I love the colors you chose and the pattern... Very awesome! Thanks so much for sharing! :thumbsup2

D~

Thanks

How great that Alli get all this practice in the snow and when it's dark and snowing. It's good to know how to drive under those conditions.

Sounds like you had a great day at Epcot. The Beverly drink is not tasting good. My friend didn't mind the taste though so no funny face expressions from him.

I had this thread on watch, but was not getting any e-mails after the DIS was changed. I now took the thread off my watch list and then put it back on watch. When I did this I got an option to receive e-mails when someone replies here. So now I'm crossing my fingers that I will get e-mail notification.

Today it has snowed a lot here. We have got almost 20 inch of snow during the day and evening. But it hasn't been so strong wind as we have had earlier this week, so it wasn't that bad driving today.

I'm mainly a lurker, but I always love reading your trip reports! I'm the same age as Alli and I got my license in October-and I'm still not a confident driver! In fact I pretty much refuse to drive unless it's to/from work, and I won't take my car to school unless I work right after. So big props to Alli for having the confidence (and the skill!)

Getting all caught up. Sounds like you had a great Epcot day. All of your PP pics are so bright & cheerful.... oh how I miss the sun, this dreary Winter is killing me!

LOVE that Victoria did a dress change for the character spot.... she's a girl after my own heart! And her autograph skirt is too darn cute!!!

As I was reading your updates, I noticed that Chiara's daughter Sami was wearing one of my favorite outfits of Bronwyn's (my youngest) back from our first trip.

Such a small world!

Can't wait to hear about your MK day. :goodvibes

I love reading about all your plans, too. You make it a lot of fun with your outfits. Your trip reports show how much fun you are having.
We found these bathrooms when our five year old grandson needed one after drinking too much Bibo at Club Cool. Now they are our favorite bathrooms at Epcot.

Your Photopass photos from this day turned out really nice. You all look so happy, too. It seems that this trip was a big success.

We were at the Biergarten and one of the couples seated at our table was from the town next to ours. The other couple was from Austria. What are the odds of that having?

Thanks Sue! I love planning our trips and coordinating our outfits - even if it's only me who does it now.

I was so shocked to find those bathrooms - they were so clean! I'll definitely be seeking those out again.

I was really happy with how all of our PHotopass pictures turned out - we were able to get quite a few of them, and then I had BFF to help me with the editing, so that was nice this time too.

Oh wow!!! That is crazy! How fun though!

Just want to stop in and catch up. Another update!! Love the pic with Stitch. Work was has been so busy this week, I can hardly keep up with it.
Have a great day!!!

Hi Lynee! Sorry work has been so busy for you - hopefully it settles down soon. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Shannon! We did enjoy Epcot... I wish we had the longetivity to stay all day in these parks though - It seems like we hit 3pm every day and we just can't go any longer. One of these times - we will make it a point to do some of the night shows.

I just like to get "the most bang for my buck" with Photopass - so if I don't get a bizillion pictures of our trips, I don't feel like it's worth it.

Hahaha... I know how you feel... I am hoping to have Alli's Graduation trip booked by the end of summer. We are still uncertain about the dates and when we are going.

Hah - you have guest stars in your trip too! And you are the "special guest star" in a lot of others, what with your bags and all...

Just checking in -saying hi y'all.

Hi Ruth! Thanks for checking in! It's great to see you - I hope you are having a nice week.

Thanks

Yes - I think it's so important. She'll probably forget it all by next year... but as long as she remembers to go slow and never to accelerate/brake too quickly - she will be fine.

Hahaha... That is too funny. I tried it once several years ago - but I didn't think it was awful... I didn't like it - I wouldn't try it again, but it wasn't horrible. Of course, now that I don't drink soda, I have that out. LOL

Awesome! I sure hope that works for you!

Oh WOW!!! 20" in a day... And we complain when we get 4" or 5" - LOL. You are a trooper! Glad driving in it wasn't too bad. Can I ask what your average snowfall is per season? Right now we are at 48" (I think?) and this is a really low snow year for us - so far - there is still time.

Thanks for stopping by - as always - it's great to see you!

Hi and welcome! I am super happy to have you here! I am glad you are enjoying my TRs. :) And I love that even the younger people enjoy reading my TRs - that's super cool... I can't wait to tell Alli and V! ::yes::

It's scary - learning to drive - do you live where there is a lot of bad wintery weather? And I don't blame you for not wanting to drive to school - that's a scary one... I even hate driving there... Too many kids, too many new licenses, and it's just crazy zoo-ness for a while there. Personaly - I prefer to pick the girls up a tad later... Even 15 minutes later makes a huge difference. I hope you are able to drive more, so that you are more confident with it - part of the reason that Alli gets so much drive time, is that we live in the country... So each trip to town is 20 minutes - she racks up her time very quickly. I just think back to when I was learning to drive, and I never remember anyone letting me drive in the winter when roads were bad, and I wish they would have, so I would have had the practice. The confidence will come with time, and I am sure you are a great driver! :lovestruc

Anyways... Thanks for stopping by and introducing yourself! :lovestruc

Such a small world!

Can't wait to hear about your MK day.

Welcome! So glad to have you here and reading along!

ROFL... Yah - I was a little annoyed with her that I'd worked so long and hard on that dress, and she only wore it for 20 minutes - the rest of the day, it was crumpled in her bag. Sigh. Oh well -I shouldn't complain, she is a teen after all, I should be happy that she was willing to wear it for pictures.

OK _ I adore your family and those pictures!!! How adorable are all of you!!!! Did you make all of your kids' outfits? They are just sweet - and they all coordinate!!! Ahhh... We are kindred spirits, I think. I so miss that age when I could coordinate my girls... It was sooooo fun! I wish to have that time back - I feel like I missed so much!

Yes - it is a super small world! That outfit on Sami was just adorable! And she is the cutest little girl.

Our MK day is going to be a bazillion updates... I have SO MANY photopass pictures from that day - it's insane. Plus, I am wearing my favorite Donald outfit... So, well... LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by! It was wonderful to meet you!

*******************************************************************************

I wish I could say that I did something exciting yesterday, but I didn't.

V stayed home from school - she wasn't feeling well.

I did my heavy lifting in the morning.

Then I worked all day long in my sewing room... I made a huge dent in that bag for my friend... And if I concentrate really hard today - I am hoping to finish most of it.

Last night, Alli and I had to go to town. We met my favorite-est Target coworkers (the ones I go to Cranfest with every year) for dinner... It was super delicious. We went to a little restaurant we'd never been to... and WHOA! Their burgers - yumminess!!! We will be going back there again.

Then I had to drop Alli off at a yearbook thingy for school... She had to take pictures for something or another? So, I roamed Target for a while.

I picked her up - let her drive home in the dark.

Oh - long story ahead... :(

So, the nameless dog we had to give back last weekend...

Right before Alli and I went to town yesterday, our new neighbor came over (wish he would have introduced himself... I didn't realize who he was when he was here) and asked if our dogs were loose??? Hmmm... DogS, as in plural? We only have one dog... They aren't ours, sorry. I asked if he had a description, and he didn't - he just said that one was white... Not a clue??? Sorry. So, about 15 minutes later, Alli and I were leaving to go to town, and we were sitting at the stop sign at the highway waiting to turn... I look up - across the hwy now, and there's the white dog... OK shoot - what do we do? A few seconds later, our girl dog from last weekend darted out! OH NO!!! They were going to get hit by cars zooming by on the hwy! So, I told Alli to "stay" (LOL) and I hopped out of the car, stopped traffic - stood in the middle of the hwy (like any idiot would)... The little girl dog ran right for me as soon as she saw me, so I picked her up in the middle of the hwy, and put her in the car... The other dog followed and jumped right in. I was so ANGRY!!! It was freezing cold here yesterday with a very cold windchill... AGAIN her little belly way caked with snow and ice (this is exactly how we found her last time). So, so angry... They darned near got hit by cars out on the hwy (if our neighbor spotted them by our house and I picked them up where I did - that means they crossed the hwy at least 3 times!)... Allison and I still had to go to town... So we dropped the dogs at home with V - Josh would be home from work shortly and we would figure out what we wanted to do with them later. Sigh.

On our way to town, I called the Vet... Typically, I wouldn't call them... But they knew the situation and I wanted their opinion. I am sure they deal with this all the time. Well, since we know who the dogs belong to, we have to give them back. Angry... According to the vet - since we have never seen this white dog before and they have had it for a while, the vet tends to think that the little girl dog is a runner - since she was found 2 weeks ago as a stray by these people? I just don't know what to do. This is WRONG to me in every sense of the word. I don't want to give them back... This is the second time we have found this dog with ice and snow caking it's tummy. I am tempted to call the sheriff this time - but then they will impound the dogs and who knows what will happen to them? I could honestly care less about what happens to the owners - I feel like they should be punished, but I dont' want the dogs punished - ya know? The vet said I shouldn't go out of my way to return these dogs... "Make them sweat it out" they said. Which is what I intend to do for the time being.

So, now both of their dogs are missing. NO ONE was out looking for dogs last night... Not a soul. :( And certainly, no one came to our house (you'd think that would be the first place they'd look...). If MM was missing - we would be searching everywhere and not sleeping... Just sayin'.

We are just so angry right now, and I don't know what we are going to do?

Sooo... That was our excitement for yesterday. Not exactly what I wanted to happen in this situation... I'd prayed long and hard that we'd done the right thing last weekend - and clearly - we didn't. :(

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

I have been thinking about that sweet little girl for days. What a heartbreaking/frustrating story. I would have a very hard time sending them back to a home that does not care for them. I will keep these furry guys in my prayers!!!

How sad that the dogs are not taken care of :( I don't understand what will happen to the dogs if you contact the Sheriff. Will they be returned to the owner? I agree that you shouldn't go out of your way to return the dogs.

Hehe 4-5 inches is what we can get in a day.
It normally snows 74 days pear season in Tromsø. We normally have around 40 inch of snow at the most in the last days of March the first days of April each year. Then the snow start melting and the snow depth goes down until we don't have any snow left usually around 17th May ( our National Day ) . This morning we had a little over 33 inch of snow outside. But it has snowed all day today so It's probably a lot more outside at the moment. They measure the snow depth every morning so tomorrow we will see how much snow we ended up getting today.

In 1997 we had a snow record of 94,5 inch on 29th April. The nearest we have been that record was in 2001 when we got a little over 79 inch of snow.

Sorry to hear about the heartache you are going through with the dogs. That is a hard one. At least you know they were warm and well treated last night. Possibly more, if the owners never come. Did you take pictures of what they looked like when you found them? You may not have had time because you had to go into town. I would at least start a log of events. Pictures would be good in the future. I believe animal neglect is a crime, at least it is here.

Yes, you take your own sweet time with contacting those owners. Anyone who doesn't know where their pets are on days below 40 degrees doesn't need a pet. That's like not knowing where a 2 year old is on a 40 degree day. If she is a runner then an extra eye should be taken definitely. We had a runner who was never allowed out unattended - an even then she'd sometimes slip away. But we'd always be out looking for her. ALWAYS.

4-5 inches of snow a day? :scared1: Terkina, I don't know how you do it! We have the possibility of some freezing rain/ice/snow mix Sunday night and the whole area is working out their emergency plans. Luckily - it's already a holiday so most of the schools are out already.

Have a Happy, Safe, Warm and Wonderful Valentine's Day Weekend everyone!

I live in the suburbs-and since I live in Wisconsin, our weather is pretty similar to the weather you have in MN. Typically I'll hang around after school for maybe ten minutes to avoid the initial chaos of the parking lot-unless I work at 4:00, then it's a scramble to get there on time. It takes me a half hour to get to work so I'm definitely having to get used to driving pretty quickly.

So sorry to hear about the dog situation-those owners certainly don't sound like they deserve those dogs. We had a few stray kittens in our backyard last summer and it was so sad to see them go. However they were strays so there wasn't any worry about their previous owners being less than capable of caring for them, as these dog owners seem to be.

I know Jane - it's so hard to know what to do. It's been such a struggle to Josh and I for how we should handle this.

Poor dogs. I don't get people.

I know - I don't either.

WOW!!! That is crazy how much snow you get!

I did not take pictures -I should have! :( Next time... As I am certain there probably will be a next time. I believe it's a crime here too - bit I don't know how easy it is to prove/disprove - and if anyone really ever gets punished for it?

We will... They were not out looking at all yesterday... Nothing. :( Sick, sick people. I totally agree with your analogy.

Stay safe down there! I know it gets crazy when it snows/ices.

You too!

So, we are neighbors! :) Yes - after school driving is nuts!

I agree - it's so hard to know what to do in this situation. Josh and I are really struggling with it.

******************************************************************

I never made it up to my sewing room yesterday. Josh called me just as I was sitting down at my machine... I'd forgotten that I had told him I'd meet him for lunch... OOops... So, into the shower I went.

I drove up to his work, had lunch with him in the cafeteria (build your own stir fry... No oil, no rice, no noodles... Just meat and veggies - it was good)

After, I went to bff's house... It didn't make sense to go home and then turn around to go back and pick up Alli from school.

Then I grabbed Alli from school - ran errands... dropped Alli off for her first day back at work since her time off for being sick.

Went home... Made dinner... Played on my tablet all night.

Gus picked Alli up from work and brought her home...

I am adding a photo of V with the dogs yesterday... They were all so cute! We had to barricade the living room, so excuse the mess in the background. :)

Today, well... Josh and I have decided to involve the sheriff in this - as much as we don't want to, the owners haven't been out looking for them at all and the weather is freezing here. We can't keep all 3 dogs, and as much as we hate to give up the little one - we need to hope that they system does right by them. I don't know what else to do? Josh and I are very conflicted.

Tonight, V is going to stay with BFF to celebrate Valentine's with them. Josh and I are going out for dinner. Gus and Allison are going out for dinner - after she gets off of work.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's day... Prayers and good thoughts' go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

The lunch at Josh work sounds nice.

Is Alli still sick?

You're doing the right thing by involving the Sheriff.

It's snowing here again todayl. Luckily I only have my balcony (because it's a fire exit) and my front door I have to keep free from snow. But the last 3 days I have had to get my friend to come and shovel the snow 2 times a day. Because I can't do it my self.

Agreed your definitely doing the right thing. We live in a rural community and my parents live on a farm. People literally stop in their driveway and drop off dogs and then just drive away. The only thing my parents can figure out is they see the dog house outside for their dogs. It's so sad! Enjoy your ❤️ dinner tonight!

I know we haven't talked in a very long time, but I would not be able to rest if I didn't say a few things PLEASE find out if the sheriff in your area/animal control is a No Kill Shelter...these dog parents may let them go/relinquish ownership...the little girl as you probably know is a min/pin. I'm addressing the black and white one, when I saw the picture my heart almost stopped that dog is a Pointer ( as was my beloved Dillon pictured below )

PLEASE contact http://www.pointerrescue.org/ and give them a heads up on what ends up happening with this dog. If the option is animal control. They may be able to help, it's a nationwide group. God Bless You,

Ruthie

Hi LIllian... Yes - it's nothing fancy at Josh's work - after all, it's a hospital... but I do try to go up there once in a while to have lunch with him. :lovestruc

Allison is doing much better, thanks for asking... She has been gradually getting less and less sleepy, and she is pretty much back to normal. Which is good - it didn't hang on nearly as long as I worried it would, and I think that is because we forced her to rest right away.

That is so nice of your friend to come shovel for you! Hopefully the snow has stopped by now.

Hi there Ruthie - yes, it has been quite some time. THank you for stopping by. :) I really appreciate your guidance on this, but sadly - we had already called the sheriff by the time I read this yesterday... I will be doing a long update below about the dogs.

On a side note... I hope you are doing well. How are the animals? And your DH? And of course, you?

*************************************************************************************************

So, yesterday was a difficult day for us. Josh and I had decided to call the sheriff. I had gotten word from one of my other neighbors that these people had put something up on Facebook looking for the dogs - but physically, they never once went out looking for them (I was watching)... We certainly didn't want to get into any trouble, it was just best to call the Sheriff. When the sheriff came, we found out that there was nothing they could do - apparently the City has not signed the joint agreement yet this year. :( But the sheriff did go over and talk to them (I was not here for this, I had to run V up to BFF's house... So, I am telling you what Josh told me) about taking better care of their dogs, keeping them contained and warm. Josh said it took the people about 45 minutes to come and get them - the sheriff hung around for that - but he stayed in his car. This time it was the lady who came to our door... She accused Josh of stealing their dogs. She accused us of having them all week (Just how long were they outside???). She also said that our "kids" were outside playing with them several days ago. First off - I didn't find the dogs until Thursday evening... So, I am not sure when they ran off - or where they were the entire time? Secondly - we don't have "kids" - or at least any kids that look like kids - IF you were to see my girls playing outside with the dogs - they would look like adults... And I am sorry to say it - my girls don't step foot outside this time of year - except to go from house to bus or house to car. LOL  She also yelled at Josh for not calling the number on the white dog's tags... which BTW is totally unreadable. So, then Josh jumped down her throat about everything we discovered about how these dogs were mistreated. Being left outside in the bitter cold, running loose on the highway, not getting them proper vet care - even after one of their dogs had already been treated, the fact that neither dog has been registered with the city... Just an ongoing list. This lady was a real winner. It makes me sick, we took their dogs in, gave them a warm place to stay during the coldest days of the year here, fed them, watered them and cared for them... not so much as a thank you in return. :( It was a really nasty situation, and not one I want to be in ever again. Horrible, horrible people - who should not be pet owners.

After the sheriff left yesterday, Josh went to town and talked to the no-kill shelter (which, btw only takes animals from the police/sheriff - they don't accept them from regular people) - the people at the shelter gave Josh some information about what we can do and how we can report these people. Josh didn't tell me much more about it - but he did report them yesterday. Other than that - I don't know what else we can do?

I am trying to convince myself that - yet again - we did the right thing. Even though I know we didn't. But there are laws to protect those owners, and dogs are "property"... I believe we are in a really tough spot, because doing what is morally right is against the law. You can bet, the next time those dogs go missing (and I know they will) - our house will be the first one they come to, and they probably won't be nice about it. :(

Anyways...

Last night, Josh and I went out for dinner... We wanted steaks - but I couldn't find anywhere taking reservations... So, we just went out early (like 4 pm) and had no problems getting seated. We went to a steakhouse that didn't have a single steak on the menu. We were both quite perplexed... What steakhouse doesn't have a single steak on their menu? All they had were sandwiches. It was weird. But we ate there anyways, because by that time, it was too late to try and go somewhere else because we'd never get seated. The food was OK - nothing great and our server was not very friendly at all - she was actually... Well - I can't say it here. LOL

We came home after to feed MM... We were going to go out again, but then we decided to watch a movie - An Unfinished Life... With Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez... It was a great movie - I really enjoyed it. We had a nice night.

Gus picked Allison up from work... They went out to Green Mill afterwards. I have not talked to her though, so I have no idea how it went. She posted this picture on FB yesterday... I thought it was cute.

Today - I have kind of a crazy day...

I have to pick V up from BFF's house at 9:30... I am leaving my car at BFF's and taking her car... I am also taking Olivia... Olivia has not had much driving time, and she is very afraid to drive... So, I am taking her out today with her mom's car on the back roads to hopefully give her some more practice and confidence. I will be meeting up with BFF again later to trade cars.

I guess it's really not that crazy, but it just seems like it will be. :D

Anyways - I hope you all had a nice Valentine's day. :lovestruc Prayers and Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

D~

I think that you and Josh are doing as much as you can do for those dogs. Maybe the owners will begin to take better care of them now that you have gotten the sheriff involved. It is such a sad and frustrating situation. :worried:

The restaurants are very crowded here for Valentine's Day, too. At least you had a chance to get away from home for dinner. We went out to dinner Friday night when it was a lot less crowded. :)

I'm not sure what else you could have done legally about the dogs. Now though, the sheriff is aware of the problems with these owners and if the dogs are found running again, the sheriff may just take them to the no-kill shelter. The fact that they are not licensed, that they were missing for a week????, and that they are allowed to run all over creation are definitely issues for the sheriff to address.

I spent yesterday in downtown Baltimore volunteering for the Cupid's Undie Run. My dd Kate is the race director for the run, which is a fun run - about a mile through the inner harbor area of Baltimore. The runners run in their underwear. It was a warm 30 degrees at run time yesterday, but the wind made it feel a lot colder, especially down by the water. I, meanwhile, was in a nice sheltered area, though still outdoors, doing volunteer check in and bag check - and had a wonderful time. Here is a link to the story in the newspapers.
