You did an amazing job on the faces of Anna and the Evil Queen. :lovestruc Philharmonic Mickey is adorable, too.

All of those bags are beautiful. You must spend a lot of time matching the lining to the theme of the bag. I especially like the lining of the classic Mickey one.:)

All those bags are GORGEOUS!!! I could not pick out which was my favorite. I loved them all.
Hope Alli is doing better and that she does not stress too much about finals. I hope this weekend she gets plenty of rest.
We are preparing for some snow this weekend, As of right now they are not sure if it will come up this way enough to really impact us. Only time will tell and if we get some we all be home watching movies.
Have a great weekend. Thoughts and prayers to all.

OH OH OH OH!!!!

My favorite fabric is the Evil queen.. It's Beautiful! I can't pick a favorite bag.. as i love them all..

you know that already!!!

Thanks Mo~! :)

Thank you for posting all the bags, I was missing that! I love and want them all.

No worries if you don't make it over to my TR. I know how hard it is to keep up on here!

You are welcome, LOL... I've been so bad about posting them here - I need to be better about it.

I am trying... I've kept your PM "unread" so I remember to get over there - life has just been so crazy!

That's for posting pictures of all those bags. My favorite is the Minnie and Mickey one. I'm not on Facebook so that's the only way I can see them.
I'm glad your girls' finals are almost done.
My daughter started her new job yesterday. She seems to like it and couldn't stop talking about it. It's perfect for her in that you can't be late. As longs as you work your 7 1/2 hours it doesn't matter when you start. She went in at 7 today because the traffic was so bad yesterday.
All your planned trips sound like fun.
Have a good day.
Liz

You're welcome! Sorry I've been so bad about it. :)

Yes - Alli finished all of her finals yesterday... Praying she did OK.

So glad to hear that this new job for you dd is going to work out so nicely for her. :)

Have a great weekend Liz!

All of the bags are amazing.

THanks! :)

All the bags looks amazing.

Thank you for the link to the hotel in Bloomington. Do you by any chance know if the prices are at their lowest early in advance or when it gets closer to the date you want to stay there?

I have got a horrible cold. My nose is running all the time. I don't have a fever or feel sick. But it's not fun having a running nose.

Thanks Lillian.

Sorry, I do not know? You might be able to find a better deal when it gets closer on Travelocity, or some other site? Not sure... I just always book through the actual hotel, I should be more frugal about it though. LOL

I hope you feel better soon, it's no fun not feeling well.

THanks! After my Sleeping Beauty embarassment a few years ago, It's been my mission to perfect faces - it hasn't been an easy task - but I am getting better at it.

Yes, sometimes it's a chore to try and match all the linings with the exeriors, some of them just never match, but I do my best. I'd rather go with an overall "theme" or "feel" then all out matchy matchy... but sometimes it' works out. :thumbsup2

Thanks Lynee!

Once this week is over - which it is - I think she will be much less stressed, she will be able to start over with a clean slate at school.

I hope you enjoy the snow this weekend - if you get it. :)

Thanks, you too!

**********************************************************

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday morning... It was a bit insane here.

I had to have Alli in to town by 9am for her last finals... Which means I had to start my lifting routine by 6:30... And I had to be in the shower by 7:15 and out the door by 8:30... We barely made it.

Then I had to sit in town for a few hours to wait for her. So, I ran a bunch of errands. :thumbsup2

I came home and went directly to work... I managed to finish the HUGE applique I've been working on this week... and I started some of my pre-assembly. This person also ordered a Mini-bag (which I don't normally allow... but she is a Diser and a friend... So I like to try and squeeze in extras if I can)... I still have to do all of the applique work on the mini-bag yet and the assembly. I know I won't finish it this week, but she is OK with that. Phew! ::yes:: But it's VERY difficult for me to move on to another project, leaving one half finished... I think I am a little OCD like that?

Today is Day 27 of my Whole30... I am feeling great and happy to coast through this easily enough. It's not nearly as hard as I worried it would be, but I am sure that's because I had elminated most stuff gradually through out the last 2/3 years. I am looking forward to doing another Whole30 on top of this one, I am happy with my results so far, and I look forward to seeing what the next round brings. I will be reporting my results (Wednesday) here, on FB and on my blog... So, I apologize in advance to those of you who will be innundated with photos and stuff that day.

As a gift to myself, for completing the Whole30... I purchased a little something... I am very excited about it, because I found a deal... As some of you know - IRL - I don't carry my own bags... I've taken to carrying the Vera Bradley Disney bags. When the girls and I were in Disney - I purchased the Perfect Petals Hipster (which I carry every day - it needs to be washed in a bad way) and the PP Vera... I love both of them! For Christmas, Josh got me the PP large duffel, and shortly after - I ordered the Large Cosmetic. Well, now I can add the Backpack to my list, as my gift to myself. VB also has the Flower Shower pattern (which is the sister pattern to the Disney one), so I would like to add the Grand Traveler and the Hanging Organizer to my travel ensemble at some point soon... Maybe when I complete the Whole60? Gotta look cute when I am going to my Dad's for the weekend... And to the lake... And anywhere else I go. Believe it or not, I have a Weekender bag and a Large Duffel in another pattern, and the girls and I use them all the time - they really are great bags... And quite honestly - they are too large for me to make, and it's just easier to have someone else make them for me. ::yes:: So, I am pretty excited about this. :woohoo:

And in case you wanted to see what this pattern looks like.... A sneak peek from our last day in Disney...

10647578_10204480613081079_547469718_n.jpg

Anyways...

Today... I am up - barely. Drinking my coffee black, with cinnamon (thank you Suzi - that tip has been a lifesaver for me)...

I have to put in some time in my sewing room today... I'll probably work until noon? We'll see. It depends on what time I get up there. It is my hope to get the main bag from last week finished, and for sure get the applique for the mini-bag cut out and pieced... Then I can work on stitching it out as time permits over the next week or two.

I asked Josh, nicely and sweetly, last night - if he would pullleeezzzeee lay that last piece of linoleum in front of our door this weekend... It's just one little piece, and I would love to have the floors completely done. Right now, that area is covered with a large rug, so you can't even tell there isn't linoleum there - but still. Next weekend WILL be painting...

Ack, cancel that... I will be at my Dad's... So the weekend after that. We might finish this kitchen some day. Sigh. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

I have the same Disney hipster. I bought it on my last trip. Originally I had the pink one but I really didn't little it that much. My friend bought it from me and I used the money for the one I really wanted.
I have the Vera grand traveler and the weekender in different patterns and use them quite often when i travel. My daughter and I like to go to the outlets in PA. to shop.
I'm glad Alli made it through her finals.
I'm working a later shift today. Hopefully it goes fast. Tomorrow a snow storm is moving in.
Enjoy your weekend.

How great that you found Whole30 to go so smooth.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Can you tell me where I can find what dates are holidays in the USA? When does the kids go back to school after the summer? I came to think about that we should at least book hotels for the dates where there probably will be a lot of people on the road wanting a place to stay for the night.

I went to the http://www.bedbugregistry.com and found out that Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Bloomington at Mall of America hotel has two bedbugs reports. One dated 22.June 2014 and one dated 16.September 2012. I don't know if we should stay some other place because of the reports or if the hotel has got the bugs from the latest report under control and it's now safe to stay there.

Just read your whole report and wanted to say that you and your girls are beautiful! What great pictures. I love seeing moms and daughters having fun together. Also, just wanted to drop some encouragement for your healthy journey-it's a lot of work but really worth it. And it gets easier, as you kind of cleanse your palate and stop wanting the gooky stuff so much. I wish you all the best!

Yah - I love that Hipster... And Not. One. Single. Person. has noticed the hidden Mickey's on it... Not even when I go in to the VB store. :confused3

I hope to find an awesome Diser ~ I haven't attempted to look yet ~ who will shop for the pink hipster for me to carry this spring/summer. I looked for one in every store that carried them last summer - but I was not happy with the placement on any of them... I am way too picky about that. Hopefully I will find someone who is going in the next month or two, who will want to shop for me. :thumbsup2

I have the weekender, but not the grand traveler. When we go to the lake for a week over 4th of July every summer, I carry my Weekender and my Large Duffel... and quite honestly, they are stuffed FULL! This summer, I hope it's a little different... First off - my clothes are smaller. :woohoo: I have the Large Duffel for clothes... I have my Vera for all of my hair/makeup... I'll have my backpack for ~ probably ~ my work out clothes/shoes... But I am seriously debating between the Grand Traveler or the Weekender. Since you have both - which would you suggest? I know the GT is a bit bigger...

So far, Flower Shower hasn't been available at our outlet - I check every time we go... We have not been there since before Christmas now though... We should go soon. :scratchin

I hope you had a nice weekend at work... And stay safe travelling in the snow.

Yes, I am very happy that it has gone so smoothly for me. I was determined that it would.

Hmmmm... Travel holidays... Let's see if I can find anything for you... OK -I found this link... I know you will be in our area around Labor Day Weekend for sure... That Friday previous to LD will be AWFUL for travel by car... And the Monday that Labor Day falls on will also be awful... Many people make a long weekend of that holiday and they head north (for the most part) to their lake homes. Not sure if you will be in the US for 4th of July? That will be the same thing. Pretty much ANY Friday and ANY Sunday in the summer - traveling by car will be a headache anywhere near the metro, as people are trying to get north for the weekend. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I can't help you with the bed bug reports... I would hope that they have gotten them under control, since there are no new reports? I know, when we stayed there in 2013, we didn't have any problems.

Just read your whole report and wanted to say that you and your girls are beautiful! What great pictures. I love seeing moms and daughters having fun together. Hi!!! Welcome! Thank you!

And thank you... I am not sure if you went back and read about my journey at all? I've documented a lot of it here on The Dis... Here's Part I: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=49959632&postcount=5 And here's Part II: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=52186247&postcount=5 As you can see - I've been at this a long time, LOL - doing this current Whole30 was just the last piece to my puzzle (or maybe the beginning of another part of my journey?)... But I love it, truly LOVE it... I cannot imagine my life any other way. At this point, I don't find that's it's a lot of work anymore - it's rather intuitive and enjoyable. Thank you so much for the encouragement... I love that I am able to inspire people to take control of their health and way of life.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you'll continue to stop in when you have time. :lovestruc

Another boring day yesterday...

I worked in my sewing room... Accomplished exactly what I'd set out to - and no more than that. ::yes::

Then I was lazy for the rest of the day.

I had some very sad news yesterday... One of my Disboutiquer friends died unexpectedly from a heart attack the night before. This one just really rocked my world - she was such a nice and loving person to all... She will be so greatly missed. Liz was the 2nd of our Disboutiquer friends to have passed on in recent weeks... We also lost our friend Becky (you may remember her, she is the Diser I met on the side of the road last spring in Kentucky)... It's just so sad. These people are my friends, most of them I have never met - yet they have changed my life and impacted it in great ways... Both of them will be so greatly missed. If you are so inclined... I know their families would appreciate any and all prayers for their healing during this time.

I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your friendship and let you all know how much you mean to me... Some of you, I have met, others I haven't, and I am sure there are many out there who read, but have never introduced themselves... Please know, that all of you have changed my life in a great way, and all of you are important to me. Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart for being such great friends - I cannot imagine my life with out all of you in it. Love to you all! :grouphug:

In other - less sad news...

Josh laid that piece of linoleum yesterday... :woohoo: Finally, my floors are DONE, DONE!!! WHOOT!

Now for the painting and the remainder of the trim... :scratchin

Last night, I had to go to town to get Allison from a sleep over... I got a couple of groceries while I was there.

No plans at all for today... Taking a day off from my sewing room.

I might do some food prep for later this week... I have a grape chicken salad I need to make... I also want to try the spicy tuna cakes recipe (I'll be using salmon) from Nomnom Paleo... I thank that's all that's on my agenda today...

Lots of Facebook... Lots of Pinterest... :lovestruc

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. Prayers and Pixie Dust go out to all of you! :grouhug:

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

I'm so glad to have met you here on the DIS. I feel that I have got to know you and your family through the DIS forum. I'm so excited that I'm going to meet you this summer/fall. I'm really looking forward to it.

Thank you for the link to the Top 10 Worst Travel Days. We will book a room at the hotel you suggested near MOA. I found a better price through a hotel booking site on the Internet than on the hotels own Internet site.

We are coming to the USA and Seattle on 11th August. We are staying there until 18th August when we start on our road trip. The plan is to end up in New York city on the 17th.September and stay there until 20th September when our flight goes back home.

That's a hard question. the Grand Traveler is very large and I can put almost all my clothes in it but then it's heavy. You could probably use it instead of the large duffle and Vera. I actually have 2 weekenders. I use the other machine one as a sewing machine case. Someone gave me a 3/4 that fits in it.
I noticed that, too no one notices the Mickeys in the design. The last time I was at the outlet they had a lot of the newer patterns that they'd retired I was surprised at all the patterns that were retired.
We're still trying to figure out what color to paint our kitchen. Right now it's peach. I bought a set of red pots and pans and a set of corelle that has red and grey in the pattern. Something that goes with them would be nice.
I glad Josh finished our floor.
have a good day.
Liz

Sorry - I am always so quiet but I have to share here cause I can't share this on social media yet as things are a bit in the air.

My daughter Kate has been with Joe since high school. They are both 24. Joe just graduated from college and has enlisted in the Army. He is in the 1st week of basic training. He will only be home for sure two weeks at Christmas. At least we are seriously hoping he will be and he doesn't change his mind. Stranger things have happened after life changing events like bootcamp.

This from a flower child from the 60's who is VERY conflicted.

Can you say "wedding" Christmas Eve!!!

Today we bought the dress and I would so share the picture but I can not figure out how. I am so computer illiterate sometimes. I don't have a url link only the image. DUH me.

Hope you have a good week and that Allison is getting better.

Jane

Hey ~D,

I'll be at Disney next weekend if you want me to look for you a hipster. I actually have some of the pink Disney Vera fabric I ordered from China. I also have a hipster in the newer fabric that's got pink in it that I may not be using if you want, I can send you pics. Maybe we can work out a trade :)

Sorry to hear about Liz. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
Woohoo that Josh finished the floors. Now on to that trim. lol
I was just VB over the weekend. I did purchase a laptop bag for my daughter. Which I have to return because it doesn't fit. I even asked if it would fit length wise, but never thought it would be too wide. We will head back in the next few weeks, as the store is about 45minutes from us.
We did get the snow, but starting tomorrow we are getting a nor'easter. We are all ready. Food, gas, generator in position, fire wood, and schedules re-arranged. Just hope we don't get cabin fever being snowed in for a few days. It should stop by Wednesday.
Glad Alli made it through her tests. I hope she is feeling better.
Have a great day!

Thank you Lillian. I am also very excited to finally meet you! I never thought we would ever get the opportunity since we live so far apart. :woohoo: I am hoping we can spend a day together while you are here - or at least do a nice long lunch somewhere. :thumbsup2

Glad you found a better price... I am really bad at that.

It sounds like the only real bad travel days you should have is while you are here in my area over Labor Day Weekend... And if you are hunkered down in a hotel - you shouldn't even notice anything. :thumbsup2

Ooooh - excellent reminder... My weekender does get a bit heavy when it's loaded full... Thinking the Grand Traveler would just be too heavy (although - I could consider it my weight lifting for that day... :scratchin)... Thanks for the advice... I think I am leaning towards another Weekender. :thumbsup2

Allison saw the new pattern... It's a black and white paisely... I think it's called Midnight Paisley? Anyways - she loves that one... They have a small 2 zip hipster in the coordinating Houndstooth pattern that she fell in love with... I would love to get her that and a weekender for her birthday this year... The girls are constantly using my VB travel items - so it would be really nice if they had their own. Especially since they will both be going off to college in the coming years - and those would be great bags for weekends home. :thumbsup2

I just have to say that I love my red walls... So I vote for red. ::yes:: I was worried that I would get sick of them quickly - but it's been 8 years now, and I still love them. Even if you only did one wall red, I think you'd really like it.

Hahaha... Me too... It's nice to have it finished. Mostly because now I can finally USE the front closet for some of our shoes. Tired of having them all over the house because there is no place for them to go.

Thanks! I hope you had a nice weekend too!

Awwww.... Jane! That is so sweet! What wonderful news! And how FUN to plan a Christmas Eve wedding... And romantic. Awwww... Congratulations to all of you!

As a side note... Thanks so much for stopping by.... I often wonder how you are doing.

Sorry, duplicate... See below.

Thank you Lynee! It's just so sad.

Yes... He has most of the trim done... Just not the trim around the new closet... but we have to paint first. All in good time... LOL

Figures... LOL I've done that before with other things. Bummer that you have to exchange it, but at least you can.

I saw the weather reports... I have so many friends in that area. Praying for all of you that you are safe and warm. I am glad and relieved to hear that you have everything in place and are prepared. I will be thinking of you all and praying.

Take care, and please check in when the storm is over, so I know you are OK. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

I also wanted to make an addition to the loss of my friends post from yesterday... You all know Erin (NannyE) - aka, the founder of Pixie Twist and the maker of all my fabulous bling from our last trip... Well, her mom was diagnosed with stomach cancer on Christmas Eve. It saddens me a great deal to have to say that she passed away peacefully and pain free on Saturday. If you could please keep her and her family in your prayers, it would be much appreciated. :grouphug: This is such a difficult time for so many of my friends.

**********************************************************

Well, this will be a boring update...

I did nothing yesterday.

I did some Facebooking...

I did read part of a book - a novel actually... Which is unusual for me these days - I've tried several times to get into several books, and I've had no luck. So, it was nice to finally find a book that held my interest.

I also did a little bit of meal prep - if you'd call it that... Since we've already eaten half of it. LOL I finally made my grape chicken salad and my salmon thingies... Both turned out really good. ::yes::

I don't work at Target today... Which is unusual.

I will be headed to town later though - the girls ate us out of bananas over the weekend - and those are a staple in our house at all times. Can't live with out them.

Today is V's first day back on the bus... Praise the Lord. However, I still plan to drive her as much as possible, because I am still pretty upset with how things turned out in the end. :crowded:

I will also be starting my next custom order... I hope to get that bag cut out and quilted today.

Today is also Day 29 of my Whole30... One more official day after today. :thumbsup2 I think I said this yesterday? But, as of now, I plan to continue on - however - I am seriously considering one addition... Just a smidge of creamer in my coffee - I've been drinking it black (with cinnamon) for a month now, so I think I could get away with using very little creamer to make my coffee a bit more tolerable. I think I will keep the cinnamon though - I really like that.

Nothing else new or exciting.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a wonderful week! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all of you! :grouphug:

Good luck to V on the school buss today.

I have now booked Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Bloomington West from 1st September to 3rd September. We have the whole of 2nd September to meet you. You can also come and meet us in the evening on the 1st of September. It's up to you what suits you best :)

We are heading towards Madison in Wisconsin on the 3rd September. So my guess is that we will try to start driving at 9am the morning on the 3rd September.

I looked at hotel prices for New York today :scared1: it's really expensive to stay in New York.

D~ that picture of you is awesome. You are looking great! I wish I had known you wanted another VB bag - we were in the Co-op on Saturday. :confused3

Charlie and I came back home yesterday, very sad to have to leave the sun and warmer temps. Snow had been predicted for our area on Sunday, but luckily it had not started yet when we landed - or on the way home. We are getting the first of 2 storms right now, and I took today off, since I'm not feeling well - woke up with a headache this morning.

We had a great trip, even though it was short. We stayed at Pop, since we were saving our points for our September trip and honestly, we were only in the room to sleep. The weather was fantastic!

I bought a fitbit a couple of weeks ago, and we tracked our steps - one day we walked over 20,000 steps 9 miles total. We walked from HS to Epcot rather than waiting for the boat - which we beat, even with a stop at Boardwalk for a drink.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

I am doing just fine plugging along and cancer free now since February 2013 almost 2 years. I am still monitored every 3-6 months for recurrance. Other than that life is good.

Sorry to hear about your two friends from the sewing group. I will keep them and their families in my prayers.

Wohoo the floor is finished. Have you chosen the "red" for the wall?

Hope you have a good day today. We are preparing for 24-30 inches of white tonight. Maybe I will have time to figure out how to use photobucket and upload from home tomorrow and perhaps Wednesday/

Be safe...

Good Luck to My DARLING V today!!!

Go get em Girl YOU GOT THIS. i funny

Thanks! She did just fine. :thumbsup2 Let's pray it stays that way.

Good luck to V on the school buss today.

I have now booked Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Bloomington West from 1st September to 3rd September. We have the whole of 2nd September to meet you. You can also come and meet us in the evening on the 1st of September. It's up to you what suits you best

We are heading towards Madison in Wisconsin on the 3rd September. So my guess is that we will try to start driving at 9am the morning on the 3rd September.

I looked at hotel prices for New York today it's really expensive to stay in New York.

Thanks - she did well.

Awesome! Sounds good. Because that will be the girls' first week of school, I don't think they will be able to meet with us, so I will likely bring BFF with me. :lovestruc Which bums me out - I was hoping you could meet the girls. We'll see once it gets closer which times or which day works out best for us.

You should be heading against the worst of the traffic if you leave at that time, so you should be OK.

I've heard that - but I have never been there.

D~ that picture of you is awesome. You are looking great! I wish I had known you wanted another VB bag - we were in the Co-op on Saturday.

Thanks! Hahaha... Figures... Eventually - I am going to want another Perfect Petals one too, as I know I am going to completely wear this one out. LOL

I was wondering if you were included in the snow storm? I sure hope your headache is gone now. Stay safe.

WOW!!! That is a lot of steps! I know Robyn tracked ours while we were in FL, but I never wrote them down, I should have - it would be interesting now. I bet she remembers, I should ask her.

I am glad you had a great trip and enjoyed the warmth. Keep me updated to how you are doing - especially with the storm approaching.

I am doing just fine plugging along and cancer free now since February 2013 almost 2 years. I am still monitored every 3-6 months for recurrance. Other than that life is good.

That is such a relief! I am so happy to hear that Jane!

Thank you... It is so very sad.

Yes, we have chosen the red... We just have to actually paint the wall now... I don't think that will happen until next weekend.

Take care with the approaching storm.

**********************************************************

I was able to get everything done in my sewing room yesterday.

I even managed to sneak in a short nap.

It was so nice here, I was able to wear flip flops to town... You have no idea how HAPPY that made me! :woohoo: I wanted to wear shorts too - but I thought better of it... I wouldn't want to shock everyone back into hibernation. :rotfl2:

Today is a Target day for me... Praying that my schedule is back to Mondays when I go in today.

It's also a weight lifting day...

And hair cut day...

It's going to be a bit insane by the time I get home tonight.

The big news for today is today is DAY 30 of my Whole30! :woohoo: I successfully completed it! 30 days of 100% compliance!!! Amazing! This is a super hard thing to accomplish - but I am so glad I did it! I am looking forward to doing my stats and weighing in tomorrow morning, then I plan to continue on for a Whole60. :thumbsup2 It is my hope that doing all of these will jump start my size loss again, as I feel like I've been stalled out for months with very little change.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day! Prayers and good thoughts to all! :grouphug:

Flip Flops this time of year :scared1: it just don't sounds right in my ears :)

Here it's raining :( and 34ºF. That means the ice is back. Tomorrow they say it's going to be 28,4ºF and snowing. That is not good. Because then the snow will hide the ice and you won't know if it's slippery or not.

In Norway we have a word for when the snow is hiding the ice that's underneath. We call it "Blindhålke". Meaning something like Blind slipperiness or Blind ice. The word "Hålke" means very slippery ice. I'm guessing it's icy in Norway a lot since we have words for describing the icy roads.

I hope your day at Target goes ok and that your schedule is back as you like it.
