Oh no! She sounds very more than overbearing. I can't believe she'd hack your account and change your adrs My mother is like that, and I could see her doing something like that.

It's great you were able to re-plan the trip with extra time, and with your MIL staying with family while you go to Disney. And that you got your reservations! I bet some better times might open up closer to the dates.

It actually makes me feel better that other people have dealt with similar people. It makes me feel less alone in this situation. I've been refreshing every hour looking for better times.

Oh my goodness... giiiiirl...this sounds like my mother in law!! I can totally empathize with you. I'm so glad that you are still going, AND that you will be eating at BOG!!!

Thank you!! BOG was so lucky but it's at such an odd time. I highly doubt I'll get anything better, though. I guess lunch is at 10:30 am!

Hi! I read your post on another form about your MIL taking over and I'm glad I found your PTR! Congrats on your DH being cancer free! That is so awesome and a wonderful reason to celebrate.

I'm so glad you were able to cancel your first trip and DH was on board with everything. Hacking into someone's account is never ok.

Yay for your new plans and I look forward to following along with your PTR. Christmas is an extra magical time at Disney!

So this means no MIL now on the trip... hoping I read that right. Wow couldn't believe that when I read it.

I couldn't imagine having someone like that on a trip with me. If she is like that before you even got in the park couldn't imagine what she would be like when you got there.


I had a friend spend so much time (I helped her a ton) plan a trip last year. Her In Laws came along. They showed up and threw a fit when they got to the room. It was not up to their standard and everything she did was wrong. Felt really bad for her since she spent so much time planning to make everything great. Not the type of people you want on your magical vacation trip.

I am so happy to hear that your DH is on board with kicking his (w)itch of a mother out of your trip. Seriously, just reading this made me angry. I am just not one of those people who tries to humor difficult relatives and sacrifice my own family's needs to keep the peace. Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself or they'll realize that it's okay to be selfish, rude, and greedy because you'll just smile and take it. Your MIL was so far out of line there are no words.

I hope she doesn't have access to your credit cards, or your computer, or anything else that she could use to make decisions about your life that are convenient for HER. Frankly I'm not sure I'd trust my kids with someone like that, lest they come home with newly pierced ears or a radical haircut that MIL thought was cute.

Oh. Em. Gee. Joining along, and I'm a bit in shock about your MIL. Wowwwwwwww.

But first, CONGRATS to your husband on beating his cancer!!! That's AMAZING!!! 3 of my 4 grandparents died of lung cancer, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I'm so happy to hear that he's healthy and that you're getting to plan this awesome trip!

But back to your MIL. I have no idea what she's like in real life, but as I was reading, I was picturing her as Marie Barrone from Everybody Loves Raymond. (If you have never watched Everybody Loves Raymond, look up some clips on YouTube with Marie and Debra, Ray's wife. You will likely see a LOT of similarities in your own relationship with your MIL. )

I seriously can't believe she hacked your account and cancelled your ADRs. Like really. I would have flipped. I'm not married yet, but God help me if I end up with a MIL like that. I will be in trouble because, unlike you, I don't have the patience of a saint. Hell hath no fury than me when someone deletes my Disney plans. I'm glad to hear that she's no longer joining you so that she doesn't ruin your fun.

On the bright side, I'm happy to hear you got an ADR for BOG!!! That's awesome! It might be at a weird time, but it's worth it to see BOG. Trust me! You could always just have dessert. Cupcakes for breakfast (which will seriously thrill your kids), you get to experience BOG, and you can grab lunch at a counter service a little later in the day. Just a thought.

And I know you had your heart set on the Grand Floridian, but honestly, the Wilderness Lodge is probably my favorite resort at Christmas. It's beautiful there all year round, but it is GORGEOUS at Christmas. I really think you'll love it when you get there.

Can't wait to hear more as the trip gets closer!!!

Wow. Hacked your MDE?!?! You have achieved a level of patience that I can never dream of. I can't even imagine what I'd do or say if MIL did anything like re: our upcoming trip. You, madam, are a saint.

Joining in on your PTR! What a wonderful Christmas trip, but OMG your MIL!!!! I hope she is not interfering further and you can focus on planning a wonderful trip for you and your family I hope you're able to tweak some of your ADRs for better times in your trip!!
