A Canadian Family’s First Disney Cruise!

I am so excited to do the 4 nighter. I am loving your sea day. I like that we can do a bunch of different things that we couldn't do on the 3 nighter.

It's amazing how an extra night on the ship can make such a big impact and difference on your experience cruising the Dream! My DH thinks 4 nights is the perfect length of time for cruising! We have done a 7 night cruise, and he thought at times it was just too long! Of course I don't share that sentiment! :rotfl: It was certainly nice to have a full sea day to enjoy all the ammenities on board and just relax.

Dream day 4

After we purchased our photos we brought them back up to the room and started the dreaded packing! The girls laid in bed and hung out watching a movie while DH and I went through every inch of both cabins making sure we packed everything! It didn't take long before we had almost everything packed! This meant we would have more time in the evening to enjoy the ship.

Our last dinner on board was in Animator's Palate! I was really looking forward to seeing how Crush interacted with the diners!

This was our view of the screen when we walked in:

As soon as we sat down, Mario presented the menus to us.

Mario took our orders and then while we waited, we watched the show unfold on the screen!

I really like these school of moon fish that play charades with you and everyone tries to guess what shape they are making!

Tonight, I enjoyed the salmon tartare:

Followed by the butternut squash soup (the picture turned out blue because of the lighting from the screen behind me!)

DD9 ordered the typical chicken fingers, and chicken noodle soup app. DD7 also ordered the soup and the kid's pasta dish with white sauce on the side

Here's Bruce!

For my main, I ordered the white shrimp penette pasta

DH ordered the marinated angus beef tenderloin

We enjoyed our dinner and show! Crush came by and talked to people surrounding us, we didn't have the pleasure of talking with him (and I was quite happy about that!)

When we were done, Mario presented us with our dessert menu:

I had the chocolate brownie cheesecake, and it was incredibly delicious!!!!

The girls ordered a chocolate brownie and the apple pie:

When dinner was over, Mario came by to keep his promise to the girls and did another magic trick. This time, he used DD9 as his assistant!

It had something to do with a broken toothpick! Nevertheless, we were all very impressed!

Dinner was over at 7:15, and this was also the night we presented our servers with their tip envelopes.

Up next: our final evening on board

I got the chicken that night and your stuff looks so good as well. I will have to branch out next time and try another option. So many things were so good though.

Aren't cruises the best place to try new things? :goodvibes That's what I really love about dining on board. I also love that they don't bat an eye when you ask for multiple dishes per course because everything sounds so good!! :lmao:

Dream day 4

We headed straight to the Atrium to hang out for a few minutes before the Pin trading with the officers began. We saw a whole bunch of other passengers waiting too and some had their huge pin books with them! There are definitely the big traders and also the starter trader milling about. It was great seeing everyone's collections! Right on time, quite a few officers came out with their lanyards and everyone went to find their favourite pins! DDs finished their collections of the Porthole pins, Chip and Dale, and we also got a Disney Dream pin. DD7 collected those baby princess pins when we went to the World 2 years ago, and was missing Baby Belle. Luckily, she found her on this trip! I took photos of the girls trading, and one officer was super nice to pose with the girls!

We were done by 8:15 and went back to our cabin to finalize our packing and put our luggage outside our door. They were even taken away quite promptly! I remember on our RCCL cruise, our luggage sat outside for hours before being picked up. I appreciated that DCL took the luggage quickly. Who knows what can happen to to your luggage sitting outside unattended!

Also, Paul had brought our items that we had handed in on our first day to be signed by the characters! They turned out fantastic!! What a great free souvenir.

I bought these colour your own pillow cases at a Disney outlet last summer when DH and I visited Orlando.

It was almost time for the 9:15 Super Sloppy Science class in the lab. The girls wanted to try one more activity in the lab. However, they wanted me to go with them. I was more than happy to join them in the lab to watch them. So we headed down to the lab around 9:00 and we all went in. This was a popular class and after seeing it in action, I could see why. The CM was FANTASTIC (the one who was the Scientist....her name escapes me). She was incredibly hilarious and was so into her role. My girls sat together and made their Flubber together. I sat back and watched and took photos. DH slipped out to go back to the cabin so that he could order us room service!! The cruise was almost over and we still hadn't experienced ordering room service, and we were determined to try it before the cruise was over!

Here are photos of the girls making Flubber!

It was nice to watch them participate. Towards the end of the class, there were quite a few parents who had come to the lab to pick up their kids, but had to wait until the Flubber making class was over.

As soon as they were done, we checked out of the lab. We cut off the girl's ID bracelets, and handed those in, getting a receipt for them. We went back to the cabin to see if our room service had arrived!

Unfortunately, when DH called down to place the order, he asked that they be delivered at a certain time (after 10?), but they were late! We ended up calling down after 11:00, and they said the order was on its way. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door and a tray of chocolate chip cookies and milk for the girls had arrived, and a tray of some AMAZING chicken wings appeared for DH and I!

P1020184.jpg

I will be ordering these wings every night next summer!!! :lmao: They were so good. I am upset at myself for not ordering it sooner and waiting until the last night to try it!

When our snack was over, it was time to get ready for bed. Such a sad time knowing the cruise was over. :sad2:

Those wings look so good!!! Got any to share?? :confused3:confused3I guess I'll have to wait until 12/15/2012 to get some?:confused3:confused3

I didn't know they had WINGS?! :hyper: Looks so good!!
