A Bug's Land Prediction?

I know Bug's Land may not be on the top of anyone's Disney list, but I spent a lot of time on those cute popsicle benches. We had APs for a few years in a row when my children were young and loved quiet nights there while the crowd enjoyed the fireworks and later, World of Color.

My teenage kids want one last ride on Heimlich. We are heading to Costa Rica this year, via a stop over in LA. I now am looking to change our flights to squeeze in a day at the parks.

Our dates could either be the weekend of August 11th or on our return, August 24th.

I could find no closing date. Only late summer, per the blog. I don't want to make these arrangements if it is going to be closed before we arrive. (I'm sure we would enjoy ourselves, but we are reducing our activity budget in Costa Rica to make this happen)

Has anyone heard of an ending date? Predictions?

Lucy here to put out my tin can and give advice......Formication....the fear of bugs land crawling away from DCA....that new Disney project that gets under your skin....I would think the early august date would be safe.....it is just an announcement, probably much like the one of closing Build a Bear in September 2017 for a 2017 October closing, but didn't close until after CHristmas...so, closing that GOTG pathway makes no sense at all during a busy summer to help with crowd flow for the new land just opening. I would scratch the late August date as that has become a season of its own with closures for holiday prep.

August 11 sounds safe. By the 24th, they move into “off-season” hours and start to schedule refurbs.

I agree that August 11 should be safe but late August is pushing it. It may stay open through Labor Day, but with no firm date I'd play it safe if you really want to visit one last time.

Yes. Bugs Land is closing to become Marvel Land. They've already permanently closed Tough to be a Bug to start work there.

I really hope they keep it open until labor day. We're taking our 4 kiddos to DLR the last week of August. I really want the 2 year old to experience it and take lots of photos before it goes away.

It's been announced that Pixar Fest ends September 3. Since Bugs is a Pixar film it is reasonable to expect the land to close after September 3. This also fits with the "late summer" deadline Disney gave.
