A BOLD prediction I made roughly 3 years ago (now 15 years ago)

This isn't a post about me bragging or taking credit for anything. Its just an interesting point as to what came of my "prediction" which WAS based on inside information from my Disney source.

The new artwork for Test Track was recently release and the response has been the new design looks "Tronish" Back in 2009 my company was doing some business with Disney and I had the opportunity to "ask a few questions" about upcoming attractions and plans for the park. My source (who is pretty high in the company) gave me some information but not enough to call it concrete. At the time Tron:Legacy wasn't in production and people didn't even think the movie would come out. Nonetheless, I predicted that Tron would in fact make its way into the Disney parks. To some degree I think I was correct. I think the new Test Track could be the "Tron" attraction that my source was referring to. Its very close to what was explained to me back in 2009

Below is the link to the original post from back in 2009. One of the other possible attractions I mentioned was way off. But my Marvel Superhero's prediction was pretty darn close.

I think I going to do this again something soon

This is totally about you getting it right, lol. And if you did, good for you.

I'm not a TRON person. Wasn't when the first one came out and still am not. Can't say that I'm jazzed about TRON stuff moving in on TT.

But I'm happy for the TRON fans.

Jim Hill better watch his back...:lmao:

Sorry couldn't resist it.

IMO its odd if they do, since Tron Legacy didn't exactly set the box office on fire (it just about recouped its direct costs at the US box office).

I know I'm biased but personally speaking I'd much prefer Disney to revamp its relationship with Lucasfilm and look at the star wars or Indy franchises - and invest their creative talents there....

ITA. Unfortunately, unless WDW wants to include an India or Egypt pavilion, I don't see much traction at Epcot for the Indiana Jones franchise.

I like the idea of an India pavilion -- India has a lot to offer World Showcase, and an Indiana Jones-based attraction starring some Indian locales would be an instant hit. Not a boat ride, mind you -- a full-up articulating ride vehicle as in Dinosaur! or the current Indiana Jones rides...

Might be a good way for Lucas to make it up to the Indian culture after "Temple of Doom." :sad2:

UPDATE: My original post about this was roughly 8 years ago. At the time, I was very close with a Disney Executive that was doing business with my company. We took this person to an Orlando Magic game and before I knew it, I was being told how Disney was bringing in Marvel and Tron. Mind you... this is way before the first Marvel movie and I think the rights belonged to someone else. Tron wasn't even in production. I thought the DIs Executive was blowing smoke in an attempt to get us to buy shares of the company. But they (the Exec) assured me what you are about to read would take place. So if you go back to my original post, I mentioned how WDW would be getting a Tron coaster and Marvel partnership.

I want to publicly thank my source but I'm not sure if I should do that. The original information was kind of mentioned in a private setting. Oh well... I told you guys this would happen. :cool1:

Is it really "a bold prediction" or simply that you were given private insider information that you then passed on?
Consider that by publicly thanking your source that you could be potentially creating trouble in someone's livelihood. Not to mention that you probably won't be hearing anymore insider information.
