A bit of a silly question regarding WDW Accommodation

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have all had a nice day.

Just a quick question, has anyone had any doubts after they booked their WDW accommodation? My preference for the resort was always Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter but DH convinced me that we'll be spending a majority of our first week at the parks and we pretty much only needed a comfortable bed so we ended up booking the Disney All Star Movies which I have read mixed reviews about.

Has anyone else thought too much about what they should have booked rather than what they did?

Changing the resort to another after you booked in one???

:scratchin

Can't say that I've done that more than once or twice......per trip. Okay. Maybe I changed my mind on the resort 3 times on my first trip. Yes. 3 times. Let's just call it 3. It's a nice solid number. :rotfl:

This does come down to how much time you think you'll be spending at the resort and how much money you are prepared to spend on the room. But really.....the resorts at WDW are all pretty nicely themed. If you pick the theme you like and are happy with the room rate, then book it. But don't tell your DH I said so. ;)

So, we have been once before...in 2005. We couldn't decide where to stay so we ended up at Fort Wilderness, All Stars Movies, and POFQ. :rotfl: I know, right?

We loved all three. Oddly, I think that we liked All Stars Movies better than the others. They were all wonderful but we just fell in love with the Movies' pool and the oversized Andy's Room outside our room.

This time (Dec this year) we are going to be staying at All Stars Music. The rooms at the values are comfortable and the survive is good...we aren't planning on doing much more than sleep and shower at the hotel - spending a majority of the days in the parks - so we dont need a huge room.

Hope you have a great time...where ever you stay. ;)

First of all I may be in the minority, but I love ASMO and id stay there over either of the port Orleans any day:thumbsup2
We have switched resorts 3 times this trip and am still second guessing. We were booked at AOA(5 of us). Then my parents decided to go so we booked 2 rooms at CBR with free dining. This was our first choice, love the look of the resort, and we knew about the double beds, and still chose CBR because my kids loved the kids pool. Well last week they decided that they are going to refurb the kids pool while we are there and after sending an email, a CM called and offered us CSR. At this point I was already rethinking the double beds, knowing that our chance of getting a refurb room were slim, we took CSR. Now of course I am second guessing again.......although we can't switch now so we have to go with it.

Hey,

It just does come down to personal preference, the main questions I think you need to ask are:

1) How much time during the day will you be spending in the room?
2) What is your budget for accommodation?
3) Do you have little kids who will sleep earlier, so you and your husband might want to stay up later, talk or watch a movie?
4) Are you planning on swimming, or spending any time at the resort?

We have never stayed onsite at Disney, we choose to stay at a Downtown Disney hotel, just because out stays can be anywhere from 3-6 weeks, and the rates are sometimes better then Disney. Even though it isn't Disney themed the Hilton still offers EMH in the parks, which is a great perk.

Next trip we are doing a split stay between Animal Kingdom and another DTD hotel,we just need to decided. Can't wait to explore a Disney resort!

You'll have a great time regardless. I've changed my mind quite a few times but that was before I booked. I must say I'm quite a bit out though June next year - so you never know! I was originally going to stay offsite for our entire trip but after reading through all the boards and seeing the FP 60 day and early hour perks of on site we've decided to do the first 4 nights on site - port Orleans riverside and the remaining 15 offsite at wyndham bonnet creek because we didn't want to be in the one room with kids for too long. Done that before and they won't sleep!

You will be in the parks a lot and if not there most likely by the pool or somewhere else!

The rooms at the values are comfortable and the survive is good...

I would hope so!! :scared1:

:lmao:

I love POR, it's so beautiful! However I changed where we're staying this trip to be closer to the parks. That transport time is a killer :rolleyes2 so that probably doesn't help, as if POR wasn't close enough for me, none of the All Stars would have been either :rotfl:

So we're renting DVC and staying at the Boardwalk.

And you probably didn't pay much more for the points over the cost of a value resort!

Love the Boardwalk!
