Check them out and give him a PM if anything matches your plans !!Dan LOVES Dis Meets too!!!

only 1 more day of work, how lovely!

You seem very ready and organized and how fun that the meet is all worked out.

The earlier posts make me want to cook toad in the hold for the kids this weekend. We always called them popeye's though. I've never made it for them, haven't had it since I was a child.

Hooray for only one day of work before vaca!:cool1:

As for books on long trips, before I got my Kindle I used to stock up on paperbacks from yard sales and the library used book sales. I would pack about half as many as the number of days, and anything I managed to finish I would leave (in the library or community room if there was one available). This also guaranteed me room in my luggage for the way home!

WOW time sure has flown by! I'm so excited for you two, I hope you have a fabulous time and enjoy all the fun Halloween fun! I so wish I could be there to visit again with you two. Still working on DW plans (possibly) for next year, but that could all change if DD gets to come Germany to study! ;)

Have a great weekend and I hope you get a chance to relax before the trip.

Hi Wendy!! We are really looking forward to all parts of the trip! And I am sure that we will manage to see each other again at some point in the future... I still want to see Wisconsin and Iowa! :good vibes

Hi Rosie! I am really not sure how our other days will work, but we will look out for Dan, perhaps we might meet him by chance. :goodvibes

No more days of work as of now!!

Wow, if you say that I am organised, I most definitely am!! I don't know a more organised person than you I think!! :good vibes

Interesting that you call it popeye's - I would have thought that something with that name would have to include spinach... :confused3

Yes, and that one day is over now!!

Katharina's DH has a Kindle and I was looking at it recently with great interest. Especially for trips it is a wonderful thing. But then I just love real pages... Your method with the used paperbacks is a good idea! I am just a bit picky in my reading tastes, so I am not sure whether it would work for me. But I have abandoned books in the past when I finished them on vacation. Some books I don't have to have in my bookcase at home...

My vacation has started!! :cool1:

At least my time off from work. I did finish everything that I wanted to do this afternoon, even tidied my office, and left an empty desk at work.

To celebrate this you get to see some more DLP pictures: various pictures from our hotel.

There are six Disney owned hotels (and one campground with cabins) at DLP, all of them opened in 1992 and some say that this is one of the reasons why EuroDisney got into financial difficulties in the early years: too many hotel rooms to fill!

You have already seen one hotel, the Disneyland Hotel at the entrance to DLP. To get to the other hotels you need to walk past the train station and then through "Disney Village" the Paris version of Downtown Disney and then you get to a square lake where there are three of the other five hotels located: Hotel New York (themed after New York, what else), Sequoia Lodge (themed after a National Park lodge, but much simpler than the Wilderness Lodge) and finally Newport Bay Club (it is kind of the cousin of the Yacht Club at WDW). A bit further there are the two value hotels: Hotel Cheyenne (which is built like a Western town) and Hotel Santa Fe (with a South West theme).

We stayed at Newport Bay Club. It was a nice hotel, but all the hotels at DLP are really showing their age. They just started a full refurbishment programme and the first to get updated was Sequoia Lodge and the pictures look like they did a very good job. Newport Bay Club did look very tired even though our room was clean, but once the tiles have a certain age, they just don't look nice anymore, however clean they might be....

But we thought the atmosphere was still very nice and we enjoyed staying there a lot, we had tea in the afternoon in the lobby lounge and even went to the pool (but without a camera...).

So, here are the pictures, password as always is Flossbolna! Have fun!!

All caught up and just in time for you to go.

Have a magical trip. I have enjoyed the pictures and got a bit giddy when I say the garbage can in DLP. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

Katharina was done packing at 9:30pm, it took me until 11:30pm. And she was the one who had to work today... Don't know what went wrong there. :confused3

But now I am done and the only things I still need to do is go to bed, try to sleep somehow and then get up early tomorrow morning and then it is off to the airport!!

We are both checked in for our flights and finally are quite confident that the flight will actually happen. This wasn't so sure since Friday. We had quite a scare Friday evening when we read that the air traffic control union was threatening to go on strike some time this week!! This would have meant that no air plane would be able to fly in the air over Germany. The good thing was that it was expected that it won't happen before Tuesday evening, so our flight would have been able to leave anyway. But now the union has agree to continue negotiating and at least for the immediate future there is no danger of strikes... Will be interesting how the situation will be when we are flying back...

But I am not worrying about this now, but rather look forward to 12 days at the magical place!!

Have a wonderful trip! Can't wait for the report when you get back popcorn::

Thank heavens for no strike! There are worse places to be stranded if it happens while you are on vacation. :rotfl:

Thanks for the good wishes! I am sitting at the airport, watching bags being loaded onto my airplane. Haven't spotted mine yet, but I am sure it is there. :)

Katharina got rebooked onto an earlier flight, but that is now delayed. Fortunately we have a lot of time in Frankfurt!!

The weatherforecast for the next days has improved considerably - from constant rain to sunshine!!

Have fun the both of you! See you when you get back.

Hope Katharina made it in time!
