I don't think I have posted an official thanks to all of you on the DVC board yet. As some of you may or may not know I posted a few weeks ago looking for suggestions on ways to save money so a terminally ill coworker of mine could take her children to WDW.

Little did I know the outpouring of love I would receive from that post. Dianeschlicht started the ball rolling by donating some of her DVC points and thanks to other DVCers they were able to give Stephanie 5 nights at OKW!!! :Pinkbounc Thank you all so much for your help - words can't express how wonderful it is. They leave on Sunday and I can't wait to hear all about it.

I have a couple of questions before they go though -

1. We are shipping a box of stuff to them. Will they hold it at the front desk or put it directly in their room?

2. How do we address it? I have the address, do we just put Attn: with their last name on it?

3. If they put it in the room would they let anyone go in there and unpack it? I would love if we were able to unpack the goodies and have it all set up for them.

4. Does anyone know if you can upgrade passes at the OKW front desk or is that a park thing?

I think that's it...

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

The package will be held at the DVC offices. Remember, your final room assignment will not be fully determined until you actually check in, so there's no way they could put into your room ahead of time. However, once you have a room assignment, you might be able to get someone to deliver it for you while you 'wander' around for awhile.

You should address it to the resort with a note giving the name of the person the reservation is made under, and the arrival dates.

I'm not sure what you mean about park passes upgrades. With the exception of annual passes, you can purchase new park passes at the front desk.

What do they do with groceries then? Do they just leave them sit out??

They will be checking in very late at night.

They have 5 day hopper passes and they want to upgrade to 5 or 6 day hopper Plus passes.

Groosch Tykes...if they've physically got the tickets...I'm nert 100% on this...but predey sure...they'll have to take those to one of the ticket offices at one of the parks to upgrade/exchange...I think by turning in the old, paying the difference and gitting the new tick's :)

Thanks Laura, for having that all under control.

Can someone tell me HOW they do that though?? They will let someone in to unload groceries? So will they let someone in to unpack a box???????

You can upgrade but must do so at the parks though. The other problem is that they give you credit based on what you paid so you lose the value of any price increases. If they bought them sinces last price increase, there is no loss. If they've had them a while, the difference can be substantial. There are other alternatives that might work out but they must decie what's best.

We were at OKW in late June and had paper tickets (5 day hoppers) with one day left from a trip in early 2001. We were able to purchase new 5 day hoppers plus at the desk when we checked in and they credited us for the one day that was left on the original tickets. It was great and we were very happy to have our tickets set before we even got to our room.

I believe that the front desk at OKW will be able to assist you with trading in your passes.

Have a great time!

Unless policy has changed recently they will credit you with the price of a day at the time the old ticket was bought, not just one day of 5 in the example in question. That means you lose a lot of the value of the day(s) on an older pass.

Thanks guys! They are at OKW right now!!! :)

Dean - we aren't worried about losing some money in the upgrading. The tickets were donated and they are kind of a hodge podge of tickets. We just want them to get the kind of ticket they want and not have each person carrying around 2 paper tickets.

Thanks again.
