A baby, a house, and going to see the mouse! 12/10

Happy 6 months...so so fun

Love the idea of the call form a character when you wake up that first day....love that everyday actually.

I so agree the first wake up is so so fun.

Wow, 6 months old! So glad Jonah's latest check up went well! :goodvibes You should definitely find that camera cord ;)
A character wake up sounds absolutely adorable.
Plans sound great!

Baby Update:

Jonah is 6 months today! I wish I could find my camera cord so I can post his growth chart photos. I know I sound like a broken record, but his first year is going by so quickly. He’s FINALLY putting on a decent amount of weight in between his check-ups. My little string bean is now 16 lbs 4 oz and 26” tall.

Trip Update:
Day 2 Plans -

I think one of the best moments during a Disney trip is the first time you wake-up in your resort room.

gif-8.gif

You have your whole vacation before you and you’re already inside the Disney bubble.

Jonah loves “talking” on the phone, so I think having a character wake-up call will be fun.

Once we’re up and out the door our destination for the morning will be Animal Kingdom.

Photo from wdwinfo.com - I don’t know what happened to all of our pictures.

Our ideal Animal Kingdom morning would include:
Child swap for Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safari
Festival of the Lion King
Maharajah Jungle Trek

I might offer to let Drew stay at AK while I take Jonah back to OKW in the afternoon. Drew loves EE and would probably ride it all day if he could.

After our late afternoon break at the resort we’ll head to Hollywood Studios.

Our plans for the evening will be dinner at 50’s and enjoying the lights. If we decide to try FP+ we’ll likely use our fastpasses in the evening at HS. I’m not exactly clear on how this will work, I know we will have three, but I’m not sure which rides we can reserve. If anyone has done this and can enlighten me, I would appreciate it!

Our ideal HS evening would include:
Osborne lights
Dinner at 50s
FP+ for TSMM, ToT and/or RnR

I can't believe Jonah is 6 months already. I am so glad to hear he is doing well.

Happy belated 6 months, Jonah!! Time really flies, doesn't it?

I love your idea to have a character call for him, his reaction will be so cute!

Awww... :lovestruc

D~
Yeah, he's a big flirt already.

Thank you!

I hate the sound of a ringing phone so we usually don't ask for the wake up calls. I am happy to make an exception for JOnah though.

Me too. At this point I'm hoping we didn't leave the cord in St. Louis.
Thanks Wendy!

Thanks Chiara! :goodvibes Me too, he barely grew from 2 to 4 months so I was a bit anxious about this appointment.

It really does. Holy smokes, look at your ticker! You're 3 days away from your third trimester. :goodvibes

I think so. We'll definitely have the camera read for when he answers.

Day 3 Plans -
So I found a photographer that I love! Her name is Regina Hyman and she was able to schedule us for a session on Monday morning before she is leaving town. I had to rearrange our plans and unfortunately cancel our Tusker House lunch, but it will be worth it. We decided to take our family photos around the Boardwalk area. Regina’s blog featured a few family sessions taken in this area and they were just beautiful. I can’t express how thrilled I am that Drew and I will finally have some nice photos together. Drew and I basically had a courthouse ceremony, so we don’t even have professional wedding photos.

After the session we will make our way over to Epcot. We should get there around 11 if all goes as planned.

I think I am almost as excited to finally hear my beloved Innoventions Plaza music again as I am to see New Fantasyland.

Our ideal Epcot morning would include:
Living with the Land
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Journey into Imagination with Figment

We will take a late afternoon break before returning for our dinner at Garden Grill.

When we re-enter the park I hope we can ride Spaceship Earth before heading to The Land.

I would like to schedule fastpasses for Soarin and Test Track for the evening. It just dawned on me that I haven’t even experienced the new Test Track. So much has changed during my year off from WDW.

Epcot has EMH this night, but I’m not sure if we will take advantage of this perk. Jonah and Drew like to be in bed around 8:00 most nights; so maybe they can head back to the resort while my Mom and I tour the WS.

Congrats on finding a photographer! Boardwalk is a great location too, it is so beautiful there.

Your day 3 plans sound great. It is crazy how much changes if you have to take some time off from WDW trips. I haven't been on the new Test Track yet either, but it seems pretty neat.

Ohhhhhh so cool that you found a photographer! I can't wait to see those!
Sounds like great plans for your Epcot day. I'm excited for the innoventions area music too!

Thanks Krysten!

I agree, it is crazy. I think rumor has it the Mine Train might possibly be open during our trip, so that would be something else new. :goodvibes
Hooray for finding a photographer!!

Your Epcot plan looks great!
Thanks Kate!

That is so exciting about having your pictures taken.
I am just so thrilled. :yay:

I can't wait to share them!

Isn't it just the best? I listen to it on youtube every once in awhile, but there's nothing better than listening to it while walking around spaceship earth. :goodvibes

Loving the Epcot plan. Such a great place in my opinion. On first trip with daughter we did not get to see as much so this time we will have much more to look at and enjoy.

Yeah on finding a great photographer. That will be fun

Definitely agree, Epcot is fantastic. I hope you all are able to take it all in. Will you all be doing the Agent P adventure? I can't wait until Jonah is old enough to enjoy it.

So excited about booking Regina. I think it will be fun.

How exciting that you have a photo shoot planned. I'm sure you will be thrilled with your photos. BW is such a lovely area. And they'll have the decorations still up I would think.

I've never eaten at Garden Grill but that is definitely on my list since they have Chip and Dale - two of my favorite chipmunks!

It should be fun to see how Jonah likes the attractions like Journey into Imagination which could be funny to him. :)

How awesome for the photo shoot! What a fantastic idea!!!

Garden Grill is a fantastic restaurant! The food and character interaction are fabulous.. We didn't do it on our latest trip, since our interaction with the characters was a bit "meh" the time before - but I think that's because the girls were older... When they were young - it was just AMAZING! You will have a great time! When you check in, request a booth in the lower section - with the way the restaurant is set up, if you sit below - it honestly feels like you are the only people there. It's really cool.

Hi Brenda! I think so, Regina's portfolio is just incredible. Oh, that's true maybe they will have the decorations up. That would be a benefit of having the photoshoot earlier in the trip.

Chip and Dale are my favorite chipmunks as well. :goodvibes

I can't wait to see what Jonah thinks of some of our favorite attractions. He was quite amused by the corn maze and pumpkin patch we went to this weekend, so Figment just might knock his little socks off. pixiedust:

Hi D~! So excited for the photoshoot. :goodvibes

It looks like so much fun. I am interested to see how this character meal is different with Jonah joining us. I will be sure to ask for a booth in the lower section. :thumbsup2

A quick Jonah update:
Still can’t find the darn camera cord, but considering I am ordering a new one on amazon later today it’s sure to show up right after I place the order.

I do have an iphone photo. We went to a pumpkin patch on Sunday with Drew’s parents and had such a fun time.

He is just too funny. He wants to crawl so badly, but can’t quite figure it out. He eventually gives up and rolls all the way over to where he wants to go. He still isn’t sleeping through the night, and my brain is just fried. 6 months with not much sleep is exhausting, if you add the pregnancy insomnia I am LONG overdue for some solid sleep. Don’t get me wrong, it has been such a joy to become a mom, but the other day when someone asked me the date I said May 25th. Eeks! :crazy2:

He makes it so worth it though. He is going through a mommy phase right now, and anytime he sees me he reaches his arms towards me. He just loves stroking my face and cuddling. I think that’s why he insists on waking up at 3, he just wants to hangout with his mom. ;)

Day 4 Plans

So excited about this day!

Our morning will start with a pre-park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace. We cancelled our dinner on arrival day in favor of this breakfast; I think it’s for the best in case the little mister is cranky from traveling.

Magic Kingdom: All You Can Shoot by Scott Smith (SRisonS), on Flickr

After meeting Pooh and friends we’ll spend our morning enjoying attractions with Jonah.

Our ideal MK morning would include:
Peter Pan’s Flight
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
It’s A Small World
Dumbo
Journey of the Little Mermaid

Journey of the Little Mermaid by DarlingDisneyDiva, on Flickr

My mom has generously offered to let Drew and I have some alone time during the trip. I think an afternoon in Frontierland, Liberty square, and Tomorrowland sounds good to me.

Squeee!!! Haunted Mansion here I come!

Haunted Mansion by sanctumsolitude, on Flickr

Drew and Ashley’s afternoon would include:
Haunted Mansion
Liberty Belle
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Tom Sawyer Island (1st time)
Space Mountain
Space Ranger Spin

In the evening we’ll all meet in Adventureland. So excited for Jonah to ride Pirates and Jungle Cruise. I think Jonah rode Jungle Cruise when he was a little bean during our Keys to the Kingdom tour last October.

Next we’ll make our way over to Tomorrowland for dinner at Cosmic Rays and to ride the Peoplemover.

The PeopleMover by seaprincesss, on Flickr

Then we’ll end the evening with the Wishes Dessert Party.

Love the picture of Jonah!

Sounds like a perfect day in the MK!
