A baby, a house, and going to see the mouse! 12/10

Your precious Jonah is beautiful. The close up photo of him in the hospital with the knit cap brought tears to my eyes! Even after 30 years, I still remember the feeling of holding your first born and in that moment feeling a completely different kind of love than you have ever felt for anything! Oh so joyful!

How exciting that you have a Disney trip to look forward to sharing with your family. And a new house too! You are doubly blessed!!

I'm definitely following along! :goodvibes

Hello little man! So tiny and beautiful! Welcome!!!!:lovestruc
:welcome: Thank you. I have been lurking your PTR as well, you have a lovely family. Your newest addition is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks Brenda! I definitely feel very blessed. Some mornings I wake up and I have to pinch myself. You are right it is such a different kind of love.

I have to add I never would have thought you became a parent 30 years ago. You look much too young!

Hi Ashley!!! Just stopping by to wish you a Happy first Mother's Day!!! I hope it is wonderful for you! :)

D~

Jonah is 1 month today! That also means we are a month closer to our trip!

I need to catch up on everyone’s TRs and PTRs. Jonah is going through some big growth spurts and during the day he just wants to be held. I have to admit I am happy to oblige. I can’t resist this sweet little face:

So, I am trying to convince my mom to join us for at least part of our trip. She is crazy about Jonah and wants to try to join us. We may have to move our trip up a week or two in order for her to be able to join us. If she decides to tag along we may do a split stay and go deluxe for her part of the stay for the extra space. Luckily we should be able to know if she will be joining us by the end of June, just in time to start making ADRs.

I thought I would share our must do’s for Jonah’s first trip:
1. Explore New Fantasyland

top-rational.jpg

I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to finally see New Fantasyland for myself. I have just been eating up all the latest TRs. I’m sure it will be even more impressive in person. It seems Jonah can enjoy a few of the rides in Fantasyland with us, which should be fun.

2. Character meal with Jonah

Mickey.jpg

Drew and I usually enjoyed a character meal during our stays, so I can’t imagine how much more fun it will be with Little Mister coming along. I plan to book the character meal towards the end of the trip so we can have him meet a few characters throughout the parks and see how well he interacts with them. If he isn’t too thrilled with the characters we can cancel and make a last minute ADR somewhere else. I’m thinking Garden Grill will be a good option since it isn’t a buffet.

3. First Haircut at Harmony Barber Shop

magic_kingdom_harmony_barber_shop.jpg

It’s hard to tell from the photos I have posted, but Jonah already has a little mullet in the back. I’m already being told he needs a haircut, but I hope to wait until we are at WDW.

4. Hoop Dee Doo Revue

hoopdeedoo.jpg

I’ve wanted to experience the Hoop Dee Doo Revue for awhile, but we just never seemed to be able to fit it into our plans. I’ve read reviews from others that brought their 9 month old little one’s to HDDR, and it seems Jonah might actually enjoy the show.

5. Wishes Dessert Party

wishes-nighttime-spectacular-05.jpg

We loved attending the dessert party for our anniversary, and seeing that it’s my 30th birthday I thought it was a great reason to go again. I think it will be nice to not have to deal with the crowds during Wishes considering we’ll have Jonah with us.

I’m looking forward to a relaxing trip. Drew and I are morning people, and we plan to spend our morning in the parks with Jonah. In the afternoon, we will go back to the resort for Jonah to nap. We’ll probably have an early dinner and walk around the parks in the evening. I am contemplating getting park hoppers so we can hit a few of the parks during early entry and then another park in the evening.

Does anyone have suggestions for must dos with a 9 month old?

I don't have much to add... We never did WDW when the girls were tiny like that - so I don't even know where to begin to help you with that one.

However - I will say that Jonah is simply precious... I don't blame you for wanting to cuddle him all the time. :)

D~

I'm so not a baby person, but OMG Jonah is so cute!

I think the biggest must-dos with a 9 months old are DUMBO!, It's a Small World and the Carousel. :)

We took J on his first trip when he was 7 months old and we seriously did anything we wanted. The only rides J couldn't do we're the coasters and test track and a few others. I would be Leary of things with loud noises until you know how he will react.

We are going in August and October with a little one so my mind will be clearer and I can offer more advice.

I'm following along too!

Jonah is soooo sweet and I just love the Lion King room. Where did you find the leaf shade thing? That is really neat.

Thanks D~! I have to restrain myself from just posting pictures of him everyday.

Thanks Mel. Of course, DUMBO! Jonah is kind of my excuse to get Drew to finally ride Dumbo and the Carousel. I can't believe I didn't think of those.

Thanks cogero. I appreciate any and all advice. I will definitely make sure to see how he reacts to loud noises. Of course at this stage he sleeps through anything, I'm sure that will change in the upcoming months.

I'm following along too!

:welcome: Thank you for following along! The leaf shade is from Ikea.

I, for one, don't mind... You can post as many pictures of the little prince as you want to... it is your PTR after all. :beach:

Following! We will be going Jan 21 to Feb 1 with out baby boy Hugo who will be 18 months! Soooo exciting to plan a trip with a little one!

What an adorable photo of Jonah with the Mickey ears hat!

I'm not able to offer any advice for visiting the parks with a wee one but sounds like you have some great thougts at least for how you want to structure your day.

I hope to eat at Garden Grill and see HHD yet! The Wishes dessert party is also an awesome choice! We did that last summer and enjoyed the view.

That will be awesome if your mom goes with you and your family. :yay:

Congratulations on your little miracle, he's adorable!

We took our little guy to Disney for the first time last month at 9 months old and it was a FANTASTIC trip.

I think the one thing stopping me from posting a ton of pics is I am currently too lazy to upload them to photobucket. Maybe lazy isn't the right word... exhausted... yes, that's it.

:welcome: Thank you for following. I think late January will be a great time to take a little one. The weather will be nice and it won't be too crowded. :goodvibes

I love the name Hugo. :lovestruc

Thanks Brenda! Hopefully Jonah will like how we plant to structure our day. Hopefully he will still have the same laid back personality he currently has when we travel to WDW.

Its been awhile since I have posted an update, I hope there are still some interested in reading along!

House update:
tumblr_lnik8wurLw1qjt9p1o1_500.gif

Drew and I are under contract for our first place. We actually bought a condo, not a house. We hadnt considered a condo as an option until my realtor just happened to make an appointment to see one due to a communication error. I was completely sold on an adorable little house near Drews work, but it wasnt in the best area. Drews work in general is not in the best area, but the condo complex is gated and has a security guard so we feel better about this decision. The condo is about 100 feet larger than the house we were considering and it will be nice to have the amenities.

I cant wait to share all of the decorating plans I have. I plan for every room to have a Disney touch, but by no means over the top. Jonahs room be a tribute to Animal Kingdom, the living room is planned to have a few Little Mermaid touches, and the kitchen will definitely be a Mickey kitchen. I just hope it will turn out how I envision it. We shall see!

Baby update:

tumblr_mmphp36zf71rxui9eo1_500.gif

Jonah is 3 months already, and is just blowing me away. In a matter of three months he has gone from sleeping all the time to now being an adorable smiling cooing baby. Jonah is really wanting to roll over. Its like he knows what he needs to do, but isnt quite strong enough to do it yet.The poor little guy is struggling with acid reflux, and nothing seems to help. At one point we were both crying as he was trying to eat. I am optimistic he will grow out of it soon as his digestive system develops.

Room rates and package prices were released for January, and were just waiting to see if my mom will be joining us to pull the trigger. We are pondering renting points or possibly staying at the WL.

Right now Jonah is snuggling with his dad, so I am going to take advantage of some free time to discuss our tentative ADR plans.

Our past few trips Drew and I stuck to most of our favorites, but this trip were going to try to branch out.

Our ADR plans:

tumblr_ljq1pa8KnM1qj53sio1_500.gif

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern - we enjoyed dinner at LTT during our last trip. I think lunch here would allow for a nice afternoon break. I may switch this to Grand Floridian Cafe to get us out of the parks for a bit.

San Angel Inn -the menu looks promising and I love the atmosphere inside the Mexico pavilion.

Garden Grill - This should be an easy way to enjoy a character meal with Jonah. I think Mickey looks too cute in his overalls, and Jonah might have to wear his overalls to this meal for some cute photo ops. Side note: how cute are baby overalls?

Kona Cafe - weve dined at KC before and loved it. I know Drews favorite item is no longer on the menu (tuna oscar), but were both wanting to try the ahi tuna. I must have an island sunset at the Poly during a WDW vacation. I even ordered a virgin island sunset during our last trip while I was pregnant.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue - this is on my Disney bucket list. Im not too fond of the menu, but I think Drew will like the food and I hope everyone will enjoy the show.

50s Prime Time Cafe - I am going to cross my fingers Cousin Cooper is working during our meal. He was hilarious and had me dying of laughter during our last trip. He likened Drew to Betty Ford and a Hoover vacuum due to how quickly Drew eats and drinks.

California Grill - I would love to surprise Drew with this reservation and using Kids Night Out for the evening. This may or may not happen. I am planning to attempt some freelance work while staying at home with Jonah once I have him on a schedule, which would be a requirement to make this happen. I have read wonderful reviews of Kids Night Out, and we could make it a late night when Jonah would be sleeping anyhow.

Thats all for now! I hope there are still some readers out there. And if anyone has any tips for a refluxy gassy baby feel free to share!

Hi Ashley! It's great to see you!!! Congrats on your new house! What a relief. :wizard: I can't wait to see some pictures of a few of your Disney rooms when you are finished.

Is that Jonah??? He is getting sooo big - I cannot believe it! I sure hope he grows out of some of his digestive problems before too long.

Love all your food plans too... We love LTT - it is a must do for us, if only for their Freedom Pasta and atmosphere... When we eat at LTT - is so nice, it feels like a break from the parks. :thumbsup2

We loved the Garden Grill too - when the girls were younger, this last trip was less than stellar, but I think that's because they are older and maybe the characters felt awkward with them?

I have yet to try Kona - but I hope to one day - I have heard so many rave reviews on it! It's too bad that we will be too full on the days we go to the Poly. :(

Thanks for the update - it was great hearing how you are doing! :wizard:

D~

Love the Jonah picture he is adorable. I hope you figure out the digestive problems. I thought we had figured out ours but it seems we are back to square one.

Congrats on the house.

Love your dining plans I have never been to LTT. We do try to add in new places to eat every other trip but all the restaurants become new favorites making it harder to narrow down our choices.
