~ A 21 month old, a celebrity sighting, & a whole lotta food~2 week trip~ 2/28 update

Sorry it was so hot for you that day. You made the best of it for sure. That heat is sure hard on the little one and grandma and papa for sure. I can vouch for that. Funny on the sunglasses. I'm always searching for just the right pair. I finally got a pair of Oakleys that I liked and they are now in the bottom of Grand Lake in Oklahoma. I will use old ones for the rest of the year and save again for next year.

I hope you make it to Ohana

Great pictures. I was behind a little bit but I caught up. I loved the Crystal Palace pictures you took and it sounds like you guys had a great time. And that onesie is adorable!!!!

Looks like Dylan "just" fits in the crib!!
I guess it wouldn't matter where you
put him as disney trips are very tiring!
I'll bet he was dreaming magical dreams!:cloud9:

Poor Dylan, he was one tired little boy by the time you left the park. He was ready for a nap!

The sunglasses story is too funny! My husband always ends up buying a "spare" pair of sunglasses while at Disney World. He wants the plain old black kind but they have to be just right. And they say women are picky.:rolleyes1

Looking forward to hearing about Ohana.

another great update! Can't wait to hear about Ohana's. I love that place! Interested to hear if Dylan joins the conga line or not! Looks like he just fit into that crib too!

Oh my gosh...I have a feeling that lollipop is going to give us some trouble next year! The little guy is going to want that and everything else he sees in all the gift shops. I better be ready for some tears and screaming!

Yeah, I don't like to spend a lot of money on sunglasses because I ALWAYS lose or break them. Also, Dylan likes to put mine on all of the time and I find them in the strangest places. That's too bad you lost a good pair.

The CP was such a great experience. Much better than I thought it would be.

That crib was definitely pushing it, as far as Dylan's size. But he would always stick his feet through the holes so he didn't seem to mind it. And you are right, he was so tired a lot of the time that we would put him down and he wouldn't move!

I totally agree about guys and sunglasses. Todd is always looking for a new pair, even if he has a perfectly acceptable pair that he is wearing. He is very picky about them. That's why I thought it was so funny that he was trying on all of those pairs that he would normally never touch.

When you order a crib from a hotel, you think it's going to be standard size. We got lucky that he just fit into it.

Yeah, we had more than 1 occassion with the lollipops. We tried to keep Dylan away from the toy sections in the gift shops. That's when he would start reaching for stuff. But those lollipop stands were his favorites.

Great updates, sounds like you were having a great time. :)

We had a great time on this trip. All in all, it went better than I thought it would so that was a pleasant surprise.

LOL I had to laugh at this whole post about the sunglasses! My DH ALWAYS either breaks or forgets his sunglasses! We end up going sunglass shopping every vacation and he ends up settling for something that I know he will never wear again after our trip! Never fails!

oh those monorail pictures are fun! What a lovely lovely resort.

I feel your pain on the sunglasses, both of the teens have really ugly ones that were purchased on vacation due to decent ones being lost...or broken.

Great update!

Wow, Todd looks quite the stud in the white swirly sided sunglasses.:rotfl: He didn't pick those?:confused3;)

I think kids are hard wired to notice brightly colored lollipops.

Great purchases. I agree with everyone else that the onsie is super duper cute.

Thanks for the resort pictures. It's a beautiful place.:)

Delurking. I found your TR a couple weeks ago and have been getting up to speed. Such a great report and Dylan is absolutely adorable. I really enjoy how upbeat and positive you are! We are also from Northern California so it is great to hear another Californian's thoughts on their trip, and we're looking forward to taking our ten month old DS in the next year or two, but hopefully before he turns 3.

Isn't POFQ a great resort? We've stayed there a couple times and I find it so relaxing and so compact, but with great theming.

Love all your shopping stories and the darling family pictures (I agree with the other posts -- the CP pics are frameable!!!).

Looking forward to the next installment.

Just stumbled upon your TR today and I am loving it! I can't wait for my trip in 11 days! Can't wait to read more!!popcorn::

Isn't it funny how hard it is to find a decent pair of sunglasses on vacation? It amazes me that in a sunny location they always have the worse selection of glasses. Glad we aren't the only ones who have to buy spare pairs!

Todd still claims the ones he actually bought aren't that bad. I don't like them at all but he was desperate. I'm sure that we have pictures later in the trip with him wearing them. He usually breaks his glasses in one way or another so this is normal for us too.

The lollipop situation will be my problem area for years to come, I'm afraid. It was like a moth to a flame with him. We have more pictures later in the trip from another lollipop station. We've already learned...the key is distraction. :rolleyes1

Welcome!! I really hope that you will get to take your DS while he is still young. It really was a lot of fun to see his reactions to everything. I'm sure the next trip will be fun in different ways, but I am so glad that we didn't miss out on this time in his life.

I noticed that POFQ was very compact (that's a good word for it) without feeling too cramped. They really knew what they were doing when they designed that resort.

Hi and thanks for reading! Ooooh, I'm so jealous that you have a trip coming up so soon. I hope you have a great time!

I had to laugh when we got home the other day from our Disney trip...my DH lost his sunglasses and we also had a horrible time trying to find some new ones!!! We ended up buying some in the Mexico pavillion and he was not happy that they said WDW on the lenses, it was driving him nuts! To top it off, they were definitely not his "normal" style! (As a shameless plug, I started our TR...there is a link in my signature...lol) Can't wait to read more!

That resort does look great. I like the look of the Marketplace....

Those sunglasses....yikes, but kinda funny in a guido kinda way.

Who joins in to follow a TR after more than 500 posts? Well, I guess that would be me! ;) Thanks for putting the index-thing on the first page, b/c that's what made it possible.

Love your photos and have enjoyed seeing some more of the different resorts on property. I think next time we go, what may decide where we stay are the water slides, believe it or not. The 2 boys are really into that.

Sorry for your experience at Ft. Wilderness, but next time you guys might want to take in Hoop De Doo Revue and be part of that crowd! :) It's fun!

Awww Dylan is so cute admiring the lollipops. As a kid I always wanted one because they looked cool but I hated the way they tasted haha

Hopee your ohana ressie works out!

 That is so funny. It seems like everyone has a sunglass mishap on their vacations. BTW - I have already started reading your TR. I found it while at work the other day but the pictures don't show up so I wanted to wait until I could see it from home before I responded. :goodvibes

THe Marketplace looks really nice since they have remodeled it. Very clean and organized. About those sunglasses...I'm so glad he didn't decide to be funny and buy one of those really awful pairs. He was tempted to do it as a joke.

Hi there & thanks for joining in! I'm glad that the links helped you get caught up quickly. I am famous for finding TR's very late and I appreciate whenever someone has links on theirs.

The pools at Disney are amazing. I'm sure as Dylan gets older he is going to want to be on the slides all the time.

I would like to try FW again, but I will have to convince Todd that it is worth doing. He still gets grumpy when I mention our time that we spent out there.

 I totally agree with you on the lollipop taste. It was such a letdown after it looked so good. I remember one time when I was really little my dad got me a huge round sucker at Disneyland and I ate it in the car on the drive home (about an hour). My tongue was raw for DAYS after that...
