A 1st Trip, 2 Tagalongs, & A 5 Year Anniversary: Our Last Minute Sept Adventure

This update is going to start with no pictures but I will add them later when I can get on the desktop.

Day 5 Epcot

James, Annabelle, and myself got up dressed ready and at the bus stop by 9. Becky and Penny said behind to do some laundry. We went straight to Nemo because we thought Annabelle would enjoy it. The ride was walk on which was awesome!! Annabelle did enjoy it! Then we went to look at all the fishes and she LOVED that. We then shopped a little always right and decided to head back to the World Showcase, on the way we got stopped by the DVC people. James and the guy talked forever and I do mean forever I ended up getting sunburned on the back on my legs during this time even tho I had sunscreen on. Well James decided to schedule us a tour the next morning. During this time Becky called and we told her we were headed back to into the WS she decided to join us.

We were all hungry at this point so we were looking to eat I wanted to eat something different but James was dying and needed air Becky stopped in China and got her food while we went to the restaurant in the American Pallavian, Penny was with us and I kept asking what she wanted and she wouldn't tell me so we ordered ours and waited for Becky to get Penny's unfortunately this was a bad idea because Penny wanted the Hot Dog but knew it wasn't on the kids menu if she would have told me this I would have used her credit to get Annabelle's lunch which was nuggets on the kids menu and would have paid OOP for Penny to get a hot dog, poor thing, I felt so bad because we could have easily done it. (By the way, that would have still been in the rules right since we were all in the same room) Penny was a pretty good sport about it. While we were eating it started to rain and we were thankful to be eating inside. We took longer then we normal would have and Annabelle played with Penny's ears.

When the rain let up a little we headed to Norway to ride the ride. I put the rain cover over the stroller, just in case, and good thing because it did start to rain. We got Annabelle out made sure the stroller was covered well and headed in. Annabelle had a hard time waiting in this line so James played MMC on YouTube on his phone to keep her entertained!! She enjoyed the ride. It was raining pretty hard when we got done so we went into the shops and goofed off a little.

The rain let up so James and I decided to try to go to Innovations. We made it all the way to Mexico and it started to pour and we were drenched. We decided we would head to the resort change and come back for dinner. Well it starts to pour harder so we stopped in MouseGears. While in here we realized just how late it was and decided to buy shirts for /James and I so we wouldn't freeze at dinner. James got a Mickey Polo but they did not have the one I wanted in my size so when the rain stopped we headed to another store and got mine. It felt so great to be dry. We called Becky and they were riding rides and I reminded her what time dinner was and where it was. James, Annabelle and I took the water ferry over to where we left off in the WS and explored the stores. When we were back to the front we realized we should be heading to our ADR.

We took the other water ferry to not have to walk all the way to Germany. We got to Beirgarten and got in line to wait. We got all checked in and still no Becky. The waitress came out and said she could not seat us without our full party, I did not know this, I have been seated before without my full party. Finally Becky and Penny arrived and we were seated. The atmosphere was cool but I didn't enjoy the food except the desserts. Annabelle was being testy so James took her and Penny outside while Becky and I waited for the bill. We paid and headed out, we met up with James where he informed me, our child, had spewed and then continued to play. I checked her out, no temp, no funny behavior, nothing. (She had done this once before both times she ate a lot fast and was outside in the heat) I gave her water and she was great. I got myself something in the Karmel Shop.

Then James and I decided to go back to the room and get everything ready so we would not have to get up early and pack and so Annabelle would get a good night sleep. On the way out tho, James wanted something sweet and got a Mickey Bar.

We got to Bell Services and went ahead and checked all our luggage for the plane ride and left our carry ons to pick up later in the day. Becky and Penny were going to swim the morning away while James and I were off to do a DVC Tour.

Our DVC Van was waiting for us... We arrived at DVC place and got some free Breakfast of yummy muffins. We meet Ed and he took us back and got us drinks and chatted for a little bit and then we were off to see the rooms (This was not our first time doing the toward, we had done it in 2009, but since I just found out we were prego we decided to wait and DREAMed one day.) We came back to the room and James and Ed went over pricing while I entertained Annabelle. Ed left to give us a few minutes and for James and I to talk. Well there wasnt much talking... it went like this...
James "We should buy now."
Me "Are you sure... Its really up to you.. you make the money and pay bills and know our fincianing but it would be the BEST anniversary present ever."
James "We are doing it... how many points do you think we should buy."

I actually stoped listening I was FLOORed I thought it would be more years until he would commit to it. I was so so so so so super excited!!! :woohoo: :cloud9: So we decided to buy at SSR, I know some people dont like it, but it holds a special place in our hearts, since we honeymooned there. :lovestruc

Ed came back in and we told him of our decision but decided to do the paperwork through the mail since Annabelle was getting testy... which she did very well for being couped up in a little room for about an hour probably longer. He sent us off with a package of stuff and a reuseable grocery bags and our $100 GC for doing the tour. We skipped the ice cream and it was off to Epcot for lunch!

We get to Epcot put Annabelle in the stroller, beyond excited that we will soon be DVC members, it was all we were talking about! Of course when we got to the land we looked down to see Annabelle was asleep and since the you can not take strollers in, we had to change our plans for lunch. We ended up catching the monorial and heading to MK hoping Annabelle would wake up by the time we would be eating.

We went to Comsic Ray's and she woke up just before we got there. (Funny story, no matter how many times we say we will not eat here this trip we do lol)

After lunch we decided to do a little shopping with the $100 GC. We got some stuff for Penny and Annabelle. Soon we were heading back to OKW. We had to catch ME back to the airport.

We got to OKW, saw Becky and Penny in the pool and found out we had a snack credit left so we went to the Gift Shop. I ended up getting a soda just cause I was thristy.

We got our stuff from Bell Services and started to wait... We waited and waited and waited and waited. Finally we saw a ME bus and we thought it was ours since it was past time for ours to come. LOL it wasnt... somehow our bus had something happened and never showed. and it wasnt that we werent there because we were over 30 minutes early. So Bell Services call and got us and bus... so we had a full ME bus all to ourselves on the way to the airport and the guy driving was awesome!!! We said our Goodbyes and boarded the plane. :(

Up Next ~ I will write down some tips for traveling with little ones... I just have to find where I wrote it.

I hope you all enjoyed my TR report it was my first. I will very shortly be starting my Pre Trip Report for our December Trip, Our 1st as DVC members :goodvibes

1) Always have a sippy cup with drink on you at all times
2) Always take more than enough snacks in the stroller for the day... have some on you for ride waits
3) Breakfast in the room saves time, money, and keeps from anyone being cranky
4) Always have small toys, paper/pen, snacks, or smartphone to keep entertained in ride wait
5) Have everything in easy reach on the stroller (In my pictures with the stroller.. you will notice there is always a blanket attached on top, a attachment for the sippy cup, a side mesh bag for toys)
6) Take Disposable bibs and place mats for easy, fast clean up at restaurants... I put a bib and mat in a Ziploc bag and took enough for the whole day.. that way if we also did not eat all the food I had a bag to put it in.)
7) When DD was fight sleep we would push her over a bumpy walkway to help put her to sleep.

Before we went ~ We had her watch Sing Along Songs Disneyland Fun and Sing Along Songs Beach Party so she could see the size of the character next too kids... I think this helped from having melt downs when meeting the characters because she knew exactly what they would look like.

I am all caught up. (I do better reading all at once sometimes!!)

You have some great family character photos!!! Annabel is adorable. Love her dark curls. My little ones had blonde curls. We didn't go to Disney until our girls were six. I can't imagine doing it with a baby! Then, again, having older ones, I can't imagine doing much with a baby...hehe. I am getting old...:goodvibes

We own at SSR and we've yet to stay there. We also own at BCV and have stayed there a couple of times.

You did a great job managing a party of five. Dh and I are fearful of traveling with my bro and SIL and nephew. They vacation very differently than we do.

Congratulations on the new house! It is lovely!

Thank you we are so excited to own at SSR. We do love it there but I would like to try out everywhere. DH wants to try out the BCV and will we when we can enjoy SAB as well.

We love our new home, thank you.

Awww thanks, I apperciate that, it helps that my sister and her daughter are easy going and they knew we would be going on Annabelle time.

Thank you I was so excited that we did get so many good family character shots. You should see her hair now, she just keeps getting more curls... I love them too. When did the girls lose their curls?? I am hoping Annabelle won't lose hers. Lucky, Annabelle was an easy baby, I can't believe she will be two Wenseday!!! I am actually more worried about our upcoming trip because she is a typical two year old.

Believe me I understand about reading it all at one time... a lot of times its easier that way. I have done it many many times. :goodvibes

Loved your trip report! Your little girl is adorable! Loved the pictures with her and Mickey and Pluto!

By the way I forgot to put it in here before... I just added it but before we went we had DD watch Sing Along Songs Disneyland Fun and the Beach Party one to see the characters in costume next to other kids so she would have idea of how big they were! Hope you have a fabulous time... I am so happy we took her then it was magical to see it through her eyes! :goodvibes

Thank you, I actually took a lot more photos but I didn't want to overload anyone with all the photos. I didn't take enough tho, my goal for the next trip is take more pictures. Even food pics. :woohoo:

Awww thank you, she sure makes life more fun and Disney was definately 100 times better with her. :cloud9:

Welcome! Thanks for sharing yours as well!!

Hi RooRach, just read the trip report, it looks like you guys had a great time. We just booked our first September trip and I was curious what the weather was like when you were there. Shorts or pants at night and so on?

Thanks for the great TR :)

Thanks, you will love September lower crowds are warm to hot weather.

Shorts and T-shirt/No Sleeve Shirt weather all the way. Out of all 3 September trips I only needed a jacket once still in shorts and that was because it down poured and then we were watching Fanastmic so I was chilled still being wet and no sun... it was still warm tho. It is normally Hot during the day. We have had one year where it was also HUMID the other two just Hot and not unbearable just hot.

Perfect, thank you so much. I just never know what to pack when we are there sometimes. We went in January this year and I should have packed a snow suit it was so cold, and Im from Canada.

Just wanted to say I read your trip report and was happy to see it since we are taking a 17 month old in September. Your daughter is adorable! I showed my son the pictures of her with the characters and he had a big smile on his face so maybe I will luck out and get some cute character pics when we are there.

Did you take her sippy cups from home or disposable ones? If you brought hers, did you wash them up every night? Just trying to still figure out the logistics.

Thank you! We watched Sing Along Song DVDs to get her accustomed to the character sizes. She still loves those movies!!

We did a combination of both, DD was lactose sensitive during our trip so we brought her milk sippy cups in a cooler bag. We also took the disposable ones for water so if I lost them it didn't matter (I didnt end up losing them). I also had a attachment thing to attach the milk sippy cup to the cup and us or the stroller so she wouldn't lose those. I did wash the milk sippys every night . Next trip since DD has gotten over the lactose sensitive and can have regular milk. I will probably take one sippy at home for breakfast in the room but disposables for in the parks.

Hope that helps and have a fantastic trip!!!

By the way I noticed from your signature that you go when we normally do. We love September at Disney!!
