I personally would like the magazine intact...hope that helps :goodvibes

I think we talked abotu this back when you got the mags, but for what it's worth, here it is again. Take a look on eBay at the old ads and maybe you can decide by what you have, if they are the same. When I sold ours, from grandparents farm (late 1800's early 1900's) we got far more for the ads themselves. I was able to display them better...some I framed. I got about $5 for each magazine, and about that for each ad (but there can be up to 5 - 10 good ads in each magazine..more for those I framed. By framing, I mean a matt, the clear envies, and chipboard..they looked great, and cost me very little..but those sold the best). I used to have a list of which ads sold good, but I can't put my hands on it. I know car ads and car supplies were good..but it was a longer list. Some medical products also did good. Stores still in business..movie stars. It seems when people see a whole magazine, and they only want one ad, they think about the cost of shipping, and also guilt sets in, that they don't want to "break" up the magazine. Someday I'll get the ads up from the entire war years of Colliers I have. I have all the issues, thinking they would be valuable all at once, but I've watched eBay over the past few years, and I apparently was wrong. The mags bring very little...the ads do very well. It's been over a year, so I have no idea if the market is saturated, but really, how would you display a whole magazine? I know a lot of people like the Norman Rockwell framed (the front of the mag), so I would look on ebay and see which goes for more..those mags, or the front framed...and then do what works for you. This entire magazine seems to go good..I've seen it on eBay before (we have one, so I look it up now and then)..so in NR case, the entire mag looks good: http://cgi.ebay.com/LITERARY-DIGEST...Z6986296405QQcategoryZ280QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

PS, Clearbags. com is a good place to get clear envies to ship in (not the actual mailing but we use them for the item themselves and used another envelope to ship in..people are fussy over what type of plastic they are sent/stored in). Depending on their size, Xpedx off Rt 155 has chipboard to put around them for the shipping.

No expert, but from personal experience, I have paid 5 dollars for vintage ads, and presently have a bid on a 1930s ad for which I am willing to pay 25.00! I just picked up some old magazines and plan to sell the ads separately based on my personal experience. Good luck!

Maybe you can donate the articles to a library.
