On the Cruise point chart, it says that there is $95 reservation fee...is this per room or per reservation. For example, if i were to book 2 staterooms at the same time, would DCL charge one $95 fee, or two?

**We're still doing our research since I think we're about to make an offer...thanks in advance!

Actually 2 rooms is 2 separate reservations, so my guess is that you'd be charged twice.

I booked 2 rooms for a 2011 Alaskan cruise and was only charged once. They have separate reservation numbers, but the reservations are linked. Back in 2007, I booked 2 rooms with the Concierge Collection and was also only charged the fee once.

I think that it will only be one $95 charge, but if you make any changes at all to your reservation (dates, stateroom, number of people, etc.) you will be charged a second $95 fee. Happy sailing! :goodvibes

I booked two balcony rooms for next July on the Dream using points.
I was charged one fee of $95.

I booked 3 state rooms on 1 trip and was charge $95 once. Think of it as $95 per transaction, no matter how many room you are booking, as long as they are same sail date.

I have booked multiple cruises with more than one stateroom at a time and have always paid only a single $95 booking fee. :)

Thanks for everyone's responses! One more question though---I read on the DCL boards that if you book with cash, you can book a reservation in advance and rebook the same room on the ship for a 10% discount.

I've read through the forums here that there is a 5% pt discount if you book another cruise within 3 days of cruising. Does anyone know if you can book with cash to hold a cheaper stateroom (say, cat 10), and rebook with points to get the 5% discount after cruising?

(Hope that question isn't took confusing.) TIA!!

No, you cannot switch over a cash reservation to points with that discount. They are two separate inventories and each is subject to availability at booking. You would have to cancel the one reservation and would lose the discount status switching to points. Otherwise, there would be no point to stating there is a time limit to book on DVC points after your cruise.

I've done that but it was early in the booking cycle so there were many rooms available to pick from. I booked a cabin at the future cruise desk and then later that cruise purchased DVC. When I returned home, I called DVC and switched that cabin to points. It took some time for the two entities to get it straightened out but it did work.

Just because I was able to do it doesn't mean that you would be able to do it. I'd all Member Services and ask.
