$9 Spirit Flights..actually got some!

I've been getting the e-mails for years.....everytime I go to check out a flight, the $9 fares are gone! Well......I actually got some with dates that worked out for us!

We will be going back to WDW 9/8-9/11. All 4 of us out of Atl. City NJ to Orlando for a total price of $222! Sure...airfare was only $72, but taxes and fees $150 (go figure!). Still can't complain for $55 per person roundtrip!!! Hoping for low crowds so we can hit the water parks!

That's awesome. Congrats! I'd be very willing to drive 2-3 hrs for that price instead of flying out of PHL or BWI.

So do I just join and then I will get my fares at that price? I am so excited if that is how it works... I will get it for $374. + $120. luggage, still cant beat that price. Saving $500.

No baggage in that price! Since they now charge for carryons bigger than anything that can fit under your seat, we plan to just each do a backpack (i.e. personal item) that will fit under the seat with some bathing suits and a few pairs of shorts/tops. I usually do laundry every day while at the pool! Even if we decide to check a suitcase add another $40 (19 each way).

Yes I am an existing member. I believe that it will ask you if you want to join for $34.99 when you begin the purchase process. Clearly the flight savings outweighs the $34.99 and the membership is for 1 yr. I have the Spirit Mastercard, so as long as I make a single purchase on the card each month, I'm enrolled for free. Not sure where you're located, but flying out of Atlantic City is a gem!!! It's about 1.5 hrs from where I am and Newark is only 45 min. Would choose ACY anytime! Recently few out of PHL (about 1.5 hrs. as well) for the first time....what a hassle to get to that airport....would rather do Newark than there!

Woo Hoo!!! I booked my flight....$28.12 ea ea way, $34. ea for baggage tax $149.?? + $39.99 $9. Fare club....$546.51 for 4 of us. July 23- Aug 6. Detroit to Tampa.

Congrats 5boyz! Now we just have to pray that the Spirit pilots don't strike! Was just reading somewhere that they are threatening a strike on June 12 (I believe). Spirit has said that if they do strike, it will force the airline to shut down! Let's hope they come to a resolution and that it doesn't come to that!

Getting prices like that is awesome. There was another post with people complaining about Spirit. I got a similar rate in August. Spirit is a hidden gem. As is Atlantic City Airport. If you can give it a try. It beats Newark and Phila any day of the week.

Wow...Newark is closer than PHL for us, but we like flying out of PHL much better...plus SW has had better fares for us for our destinations. My sister has flown out of ACY a few times and said it's great.

Friends of ours were just able to join us on our Sept Harry Potter trip b/c of these fares. They got $9 fare for 1 leg and $28 for the other, both nonstops from AC. Total for family of 5: $373!! Since it's only a long weekend, they should be able to squeeze everything into a backpack and use the hotel's shampoo and hairdryer. Even if paying for RT luggage, it's still a huge bargain!

I sure hope they don't strike!

pp: Not all their fares are that cheap. Even though they advertise these a lot, it's usually extremely hard to actually find them and be able to make a RT trip with them. So hard that I've given up years ago. Their fares are usually close to what other airlines charge plus lots of baggage & seating fees.
