Here are the sit down restaurants we patronized. DH and I ranked them:
Boma - DH favorite, #2 for me: DH just LOVED this place. He enjoyed the wide range of choices, the variety of the flavors and the number of desserts.
I really liked it too. Everything was tasty except for one crunchy fried ball-type thing which was kind of like cardboard. The atmosphere was a bit chaotic and we were sitting far away from the buffet so it seemed like a long trip back and forth. The marinated flank steak and the salmon were both good. Veggies were all yummy too.
My fave dessert was the banana bread pudding. DH loved the Zebra Domes.
O'Hana - my favorite, #2 for DH: I loved the "relish tray" with the little shrimp dumpling things, the atmosphere, the service, everything! DH enjoyed it, but he felt he was being pushed into eating more than he wanted and he felt guilty. Neither one of us are big eaters, but we still like buffets because we can try different things.
We were there fairly early (6;00 pm) so it was not crowded and fairly quiet. We were not near the "show" which was okay with us.
Akershus - we both gave this a #3 - We went for lunch. It was different. It was a very hot day and a cold buffet was perfect. The only thing we didn't like were the couple of lamb dishes on the hot bar. We just don't like the taste of lamb. I'm sure they were probably excellent.
Biergarten - #4 on our list. The food was good - another buffet. Sausages, roasted chicken, and other items of a German nature. The vanilla sauce and apple strudel are yummy. We didn't really like sitting with a bunch of people we don't know. The group on one side were retirees from Texas and the group on the other side were teens. We ended up having a pretty good conversation, but it still felt uncomfortable and stilted. I think this would be more fun if you were traveling with a large party or drinking a lot of beer. They performed an Octoberfest show, but the place was practically empty so it was kind of pathetic.
Trails End - #5 - went there for lunch. It was okay for the price, but I don't think we will go so far out of the way for this type of food again. Nothing really bad, just ordinary.
Sci Fi - #6 - gets extra bonus points for atmosphere. DH had burger and fries and shake, I just had a salad. It was fun.
The remainder of the time we either ate in our room or grabbed fast food. One day we vowed to eat a dessert from every country in Epcot. We had rice cream, napoleon, choc chip cookie...then I couldn't eat any more. DH had something else, but I can't remember what it was. We both agreed that the napoleon at Starring Rolls is better than the ones in Epcot's France.
I also had a Dole Whip. DH dropped his mouseears ice cream bar down the front of him at AK. Typical.
Worst food of the trip - El Pirata in MK. My taco salad was nothing but the core of a head of lettuce (the white, hard stuff) with about a pound of orange, greasy, cheese product on top. Yuk.
