9 days 2 resorts FREE Dining Christmas Lights & a bouncing Tigger who stole my heart

First off, I'm glad that you guys had a wonderful Christmas. I remember seeing a Wii and something Star Wars so I know your kids were happy.;)

Piano Bob sounds like he's a popular guy....standing room only.

Yes, Star Wars and a Wii. It doesn't get much better than that!

I think Piano Bob brings a full house most nights!

Your boys look really happy and excited about the Wii. I also notice the Nintendo DS's - did they get those too? I got a DS for Christmas :cool1:

Glad you got to see Piano Bob. We are definitely going to see him the next time we are there. We have heard lots of good things from everyone who sees his shows.

Great Christmas pictures of your family!

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

The kids already had the DS's. But they got new games for them for Christmas. So when they are not playing the Wii they have their heads buried in the DS's!! :rotfl:

Piano Bob looks like a lot of fun!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you guys are enjoying the Wii. Santa brought us ours last year for Christmas & we've enjoyed it ever since. At one point we had to move the docking station for the rechargeable controllers into our bedroom because they were being over-used. :rolleyes1 We got a couple new games for Christmas - Wii Sports Resort & Super Mario Bros. Zach loves Mario games... we'll be getting the new Super Mario Galaxy 2 when it comes out in February.

I got the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas this year - I love it so far - it's a lot of fun. DH said he felt weird about buying it for me, but I told him it was OK since I asked for it. ;)

Sooooo cute!!! Your DS with his knees up--- hahahahahaha.:goodvibes He takes direction very very well. He's a good listener.;)

Never saw Piano Bob. Heard lots of good things about him though.
:goodvibes It looks like so much fun-- next time we stay at POFQ- we'll have to walk over for an evening of fun with all the peeps from PGH... er, Connecticut.:rotfl:

Looking forward to a review on Kona's breakfast...:rolleyes1

;)

And of course Epcot. Sounds like a certain day I have planned in May.:cloud9:

I watched the piano Bob video last night! So cute! It brings back such good memories of POR. :cloud9: I wish we could stay at a Mod this trip, but it's already a tight budget so back to POP we go! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about Kona! My family just went in August and they said that they l-o-v-e-d it! They said that it was the best breakfast they have had in WDW. I can't wait to go in September! :thumbsup2

DS10 a very good listener!! He really did enjoy Piano Bob. Enough to move CBR into 2nd place  and put POR in first for his favorite WDW resort!!

DS8 on the other hand thought Piano Bob was okay for a few songs and then he didn't see the need to stay for anymore nonsense! :confused3:rotfl:

Kona Cafe coming up next! :goodvibes

The boys had a Mother/Son Halloween dance at school & we had a couple of school board members (without sons) be the judges for the costume contest. Unfortunatey Alex didn't get to go (punishment) but Zach was there in his Mario costume. (I was Princess Peach.) One of the judges just couldn't get over Zach's costume - he kept saying how it brought him back to his childhood. Zach ended up winning the contest for K-2nd grade. :thumbsup2

Love the Christmas pics! They look so excited with the Wii! My DS took his Christmas money and the money he's been saving (he was so proud!) and bought TSMania on Sunday. We're practicing for the trip nearly every night now! :yay:

The pic of you and your boys in front of the tree is a wonderful one! Glad to hear you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Thursday November 12th ~

Today was Epcot day! Yes, we had already been there twice on this trip, but both times were brief. We planned to stay until well after dinner so we were not going early. We had a 10:30am breakfast ADR at Kona Cafe at the Poly. We got up and got ready and watched the weather on TV. This was to be our only chilly day according to the forecast. It said the high would be 68 degrees. (I don't believe it ever made it that high) So 68 degrees in November at home would mean a short sleeved shirt and carpi's. So that's what I headed out the door in.

And quickly turned around and went back in the room to change into jeans and get a jacket on. Grabbed the boys sweatshirts and back out the door we went. I forget what time it was, but we had plenty of time to get to the Poly before 10:30 and were pretty sure we would get there early.

We took the bus to MK and got on the monorail and took it to the Poly.

DisneyNovember2009767.jpg

It was almost 10:00 when we got there. We found Kona Cafe with no problem. In all our visits to the Poly we didn't know exactly where Kona was. :confused3 But it was right there in plain sight! We went and checked in and were told it would be a little while. There seemed to be a lot of people waiting.

In about 10 minutes we were called and seated. As soon as we were seated I knew we were going to be unhappy with our table. It was right on the outside edge of the restaurant and it was very drafty and there were people(who were waiting to be seated) leaning on the rail that was right on the other side of the table. We were cold and really didn't want to eat breakfast with people's behinds in our faces! So DH asked if we could be moved. Which is very unlike him. He would normally just take what we were given. I was so happy that he asked for a new table! :lovestruc The hostess showed us a few open tables and told us to pick one. So we got settled into our new table and started to look over the menu. Then we waited. And waited. We started to think it was a mistake to ask for a new table because we were pretty sure we weren't getting a waitress! While we waited we saw the hostess try to seat 2 more parties at our old table, but no one was going for it! :rotfl: Eventually our waitress came and she was very nice. She took our orders and brought our drinks right out. She saw us taking pictures of each other and even offered to take a family shot for us!

I knew exactly what I was after. I was trying the famous Tonga Toast -- banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote and ham. It did not disappoint! Wow that was very good. :cloud9:

DisneyNovember2009782.jpg

DisneyNovember2009783.jpg

DH knew what he wanted too. We had studied this menu extensively prior to going on vacation! He got the Big Kahuna -- French toast, Macadamia-Pineapple pancakes, eggs, home fried potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage. But he just got his pancakes regular. He also got the Kona Press Pot coffee. He loved everything!

DisneyNovember2009781.jpg

DS10 got the Mickey Pancakes. This was one place where he could have actually ordered off of the adults menu and liked it. But I guess he was just so used to ordering off of the kids menu that the thought never occurred to him. Or me. But it didn't matter, the kids pancakes were plenty!

DisneyNovember2009779.jpg

DS8 ordered Minnie's French Toast. Which he liked very much. But he also ate some of my Tonga Toast. Which really surprised me! He said next time he wants to order that!

DisneyNovember2009780.jpg

We were very pleased with our Kona Cafe breakfast! Even me, who doesn't really care for breakfast. We had a very nice time, great service, and we were all very full! We used 4 TS credits and the total bill was -- get this -- $40! Looking back we probably should have paid OOP and saved the TS credits. We have paid more than that for CS meals. What a deal Kona was!! :goodvibes We will definitely be back.

Next Up: Shopping at the Poly and entering Epcot via monorail!

A mother/son dance sounds very fun! :cool1: How cool that Zach won for being Mario!

Thanks Kim! :goodvibes The Wii was a big hit. They are playing it right now. It's been a great incentive for good behavior too! :rotfl:

I bet he is so happy & proud to have bought the game himself! We do the same thing, the boys have to save their own money and buy their own toys/video games. If it's not Christmas or their birthday, we don't buy it! It teaches them so much.

Great report and pictures on the Kona Cafe Shelly!

It was one of our family's favorite meals at WDW. I know we will go there again a few times, on our next trip.

I can't wait to get home and see the pics of Kona. It's making me hungry just thinking about it!

I read your post and then had to send a text to my cousin Mike that just said 'Tonga Toast' and that's it. He just replied 'I'm so pumped!!!" :rotfl2:

He's one of the people going with us when we go in September. :goodvibes And we will DEFINATELY be going to Kona for breakfast.

Well, as long as we can get ADR's for 10 people during Free Dining.:scared: :faint: :scared:

I just hate that you can't see the pics until later!

I don't think you will have trouble getting into Kona for breakfast. Just be flexible with your times! :goodvibes

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Ooooohhh, me too.

That's why I never post. I read and then say that I will post after I see pictures - which sometimes doesn't happen for a few days. :sad2:

But now - I am just going to post as I am reading just so I can get my .02 cents in. :lmao:

Great updates and happy to hear you had a nice Christmas. I'm sure your boys are loving that Wii. Toy Story Mania is so fun too :goodvibes. Anyway I enjoyed your MK and Piano bob updates and video.I love Kona for breakfast Tonga Toast is the best. Your family picture is too cute.

Kona looks yummy!! And what a great deal! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you showed the inside of the Tonga Toast though... I thought I would like it based on the before pictures I've seen, but I didn't realize there were actual bananas inside there - I'll have to re-think ordering that if given the opportunity. :snooty: Sorry... I know it's a DIS favorite...
