Tinkerme1,

I received the first email, but no response to the PM requesting email address. Did you get my PM?

DisneyGirlTinkerbell: Did you receive my email address and additional information? Just checking, since these boards are a little different than I am used to on "another cruising site". Thanks for all your kindness in doing the magnets! Sounds like fun.

Chris: If you are reading the boards, I have signed us up for the "ladies lunch"!

I have been watching ebay w/no luck for fish extenders, except for 2 that other dis'ers were bidding on. And I am not crafty at all and in no way would be able to make one. I know someone had mentioned that they happened to find one at the dollar store, which dollar store was it? If I have that one around here, I can try and take a peak. Hopefully I can find one!!

I am working on pirate costumes, I am shocked that DH agreed to wear one. I have been bidding on a great one for ds, but keep getting outbid. He wants to wear it for halloween, too...so I'm willing to pay a little more if I have to.

I was going to head to WalMart this morning to see if I can find fabric, and items to make the extender.

My dd age 4, Ally, is excited to swim in the Mickey Pool....

I am really excited for the cruise...I bet all of you are too

My dh keeps telling me to chill out....as I will be making meals ahead for those I am not bringing, :guilty:  , and I am starting the planning already!

I purchased a bunch of cold cuts...that have been separated and put into those food saver bags and put into the freezer. (we do bulk shopping in BJ's wholesale club) I did the same with snacks...and I will be making brownies and muffins and individually wrapped...my dh thinks I am a bit too anal...OCD or whatever term fits nicely... :rotfl:

Or she could be one of the parade dancers or if she can sing one of the singer/dancers who perform in front of the castle! I did get to dance in a parade down main street (when I was in my early 40's) ...it was the thrill of my life. There is nothing like the opportunity to turn frowns to smiles... If your daughter wants to know anything about being a professional dancer, I'd be glad to talk with her during the cruise. :dance3:

I'll mention it to her! Thank you! Although I'm leaning towards her wanting to be a Nun. :goodvibes

I'm feeling a little nervous about dinner companions :scared1 We have no children with us and I was told they usually give 8:30 to adults. We were across from a table last cruise that only showed up twice for dinner. Guess they did not want to pay tips so ate buffet every night. :rolleyes1

I think poohluv2u is just her and her dh.... Y'all could link ressies! I'm not sure adults only would want to link ressies with us! :rotfl: Our 5dd is a pistol! Some nights she gets rather pissy because we won't take her to the club during dinner! :rotfl2:

My DH and DD are not what anyone would call joiners. DH is in retail and interacts with people all day long. His idea of a vacation is being only with his family and doing solitary things so I don't think I will be able to get him to the wine tasting. DD is extremely shy and prefers to be by herself or only with family:sad2:.
I will be lucky to get them to the DIS meet! ;)

I, on the other hand, am looking forward to meeting all of you :woohoo:
I'm not sure how, but we have Main dining so probably wont' see half of you at dinner. Hopefully we will run into each other around the ship though.

I have a countdown going at work so everyone there knows exactly how long till my cruise. I like to be subtle about these things! :lmao:

Carol

I understand about your dh! Mine isn't a joiner or a talker. But, he knows I am! :) He thinks it is great that I am getting to know so many of y'all online. He can seem a little standoffish because he is shy -- now if any of you want to talk Hockey (Go STARS!), Beer (he carries a list of new ones to try and is hoping to go to Munich for Octoberfest the 1st weekend in Oct this year) or Leather (his business).... :teeth:

I have a 23dd & a 26ds coming on this cruise. Our ds is shy but, makes an effort not to be...which is sometimes hard since I know he gets panic attacks (I do too but, it doesn't stop me from talking! :rotfl2: ). Our 23dd is not shy at all and is usually really good at making others feel comfortable -- it's a gift that she has had since she was a young child.

Tell him that if he comes tot he wine tasting he doesn't have to speak to anyone -- I'm sure dh is counting on me talking enough for the both of us! :rotfl: Or you can come and they can hang out together! :teeth:

On the subject of UK etc, I have been looking for some wine to bring with us - due to the climate there are only a few wines here and they are English or Welsh. Scotland only seems to be able to produce Whisky and you probably would want that would you? ;) The other issue with this is whether we would be able to safely transport the bottles the distance without breakage - my DW Helen doesn't think it's a good idea to find out. Any thoughts??

You can come to the wine tasting even if you don't have a bottle with you! :teeth: I'm sure there will be plenty! I'm going to add you and Helen to the *list*. :teeth:

Regarding "Fish Extenders", is this likely to be available in WALMART? We haven't seen anything similar here in the UK so we realise we may have to "make-do" with something off the shelf. Helen has bought lots of items from the Disney Store for all you disers (we still get DVC discount in the UK) and as previously mentioned she can't wait to give them out. Once they are gone it's going to leave lots of room in our cases for all the goodies we want to bring home with us from WDW. :Pinkbounc

If you don't mind a homemade one I can make y'all one! I have enough of the pockets already made from the ones I was making yesterday. PM me!

Only 11 more working days for me before we fly so everything seems to be moving up a gear almost on a daily basis - all the cases have been weighed to avoid excess baggage and apart for something for Helen to wear on Pirates Night, I'm sure that EVERYTHING has been taken care of.

I'ld offer her one of our extra Pirate outfits -- some how in my furious shopping I ended up with 4 female Pirate outfits when I only needed 3, plus 2 extra tops & an extra skirt - but, I'm afraid you would think I was really wierd! :lmao:

Although my father died nearly 15 years ago, we were surprised to receive a cheque on Thursday for further funds of over £1300.00 - ($2500.00) so that was a pleaseant shock!!

What a nice surprise right before a vacation!

Yesterday, I had to go to the Dentists where I had a Root Canal Filling and a polish :teeth: - total cost £42.00 - ($80.00). Absolute bargain - since April the charges in the NHS (National Health Service) have been totally restructured so you can get more done for less. We are actually lucky that we maintained our registration at a NHS dentist for many years. A new patient now would HAVE to go private and the same treatment would have cost 3-4 times more.

Ouch! All this talk about dental work is making my teeth hurt. ;)

Just remembered another question, is Cherry Juice readily available to buy in the States. Helen has heard that it helps people with ME / CFS (see my previous posts) but we cannot find it anywhere in the UK so we will try and get some in Florida.!!

I've never seen any but, I've never looked! I would think a Health Food store would carry some... or a store that specializes in Middle Eastern foods -- I know that you can buy cherry juice from street vendors in Turkey.

If you read my reply to David I could do the same for you -- just remember that I am not a very good seamtress! LOL! And it will look homemade! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'll PM a link to one that I bought on Ebay (and I think she makes them regularly). I don't know if 8ds is going to wear that one or the one he bought at the Disney store the other day. He told me that you can never have too many Pirate costumes! :rotfl: :rotfl: My kids wear costumes yearround to play with so, I didn't mind getting them. I usually wait until after Halloween and go to the Disney store and buy a couple of costumes at 75%off!

I was surprised that my dh is willing to wear the pieces that I bought for him!!! YEA!!! 26ds doesn't believe me that other cruisers will be in costume! ;)

Y'all are going to have a blast!

I have now done my duty this morning to keep our thread near the top of page 1! :lmao: :lmao:

I would love to join the wine tasting. DH probably will not; he is also not much of a joiner and isn't supposed to drink with his medication anyway. I am not really a wine drinker but there are a bazillion wineries in Oregon so I am sure I will find something to bring.

Pirate costumes - yikes! Since we were originally planning to cruise in December I was planning on picking up some things around Halloween, but now I am kind of stuck. We may just end up wearing our pirate Mickey ears from Disneyland.

I would be interested in linking dining (late). DH and I are both 50 :scared1: (a young 50!) and DS is a mature 14 who knows everything about the NBA.

Please update me on what you are doing with the fish extenders. Is everyone getting little gifts for everyone else? Can we get an updated stateroom list at the sailaway party? I think there will be several of us who will not be getting our stateroom assignments until we check in.

LOL I've not even started making a packing llist yet. It's just a matter of getting it all together. I'm making the list of things tonight and will start tomorrow in going through what I'm going to take and what I won't take. But I do have to say I'm getting really really excited!!!

This group has been so chatty the last day or so! It took me awhile to get caught up. You can definitely count me and DH in for the wine tasting.

I am glad to see that everyone is as excited as we are about this cruise. Like others on this thread we have to draft a letter to the children's schools so that they are excused for the 2 weeks we will be gone.

Yesterday we were able to complete the rest of the clothes shopping for the kids and ourselves for the cruise. All we have to do now is pack. We bought our children new luggage as they had grown out of the luggage they used to use. It will also be nice to have some bigger pieces of luggage so that we have a little extra room and a few less pieces of luggage.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

I've just found someone else on this cruise on another thread - cathicool. I've provided a link so hopefully sh'll be joining us soon.

I know that i will have my list with me at the party so, that I can update my list! :) I can bring extra copies to pass out to those that might have forgotten theirs... :)
I have bought quite the variety of gifts! I am hoping to also get notes printed out with reminders about the Ladies Lunch (I know I'ld have to deliver those the 1st evening!) and the Wine tasting in our suite.

Keep checking your reservations online and let us knwo when you get assigned a room! :teeth:

That is wonderful! Dh wanted to finish our shopping on Saturday and then I reminded him that it is *no tax* weekend and school is getting ready to start... he decided that shopping during the week sounded better! :rotfl2: He'll just take an afternoon off for us to shop. I'm thinking that we may need to buy another suitcase..... We just bought these this past October.... I'll just add another one of the large ones! :rotfl:

Just a question, but do all of you iron everything before it goes into the suitcase or do you send things out to be pressed? Last cruise I ironed everything and used the Ziploc bags for the kids clothes. I also got drycleaning bags for our formal wear and amazingly never had to iron once on the cruise.
