Day Three

Day three we were awakened at 9am – we slept in!! – by the phone ringing. It was Joe at Palo calling to tell us the good news! We had a table by the window for dinner at 6! We were VERY happy. We had to get up and get going to make our 10am Palo brunch reservation – then it would be on to the spa again for the “Exotic Rasul”!

If I can take a minute to say something here…if you are a couple traveling alone on this ship? Do yourself a favor and save up as much $$$ as you possibly can to enjoy indulging in dining at Palo as much as possible – it’s SO ROMANTIC! – and pamper yourself in the spa! Now...granted…we were having another “day at sea” since Castaway Cay was not yet open, but I would make room for both of these things no matter what!

We got cleaned up rather quickly but didn’t overdo it as we knew we were heading straight for the spa after brunch. And…to top it all off? It rained during brunch! It was so wonderful to sit and watch the rain on the windows and out at sea – just GORGEOUS, cozy and very romantic at Palo. There we sat, gorging on the different cheeses, breads, beef tenderloin, fresh fish, crab legs – delicious! – and drinking our grand mimosas while outside the rain came down. I knew it was probably only a matter of time before the sun came out again – and it made a quick appearance during brunch – we finished stuffing our faces as the rain began to fall again and off we went to the spa.

I will not tell you much about the Exotic Rasul – just that we really had a good time – picture your own private steam room and shower area – just for the two of you – with face and body “muds” – it was just a blast! LOL. And that’s ALL I’m going to say about THAT.

We decided after more spa time…that it might be worth a visit to the adult pool to see what was going on so we dashed down to our stateroom, threw on our suits and went up on deck 9. I thought the adult pool would be PACKED because of the “day at sea” but I guess not as many people had faith that the sun would come out! It did! We had a GREAT time – ahem, maybe TOO great a time – lol – drinking rum runners by the pool and making new friends. We stayed until about 4 o’clock! We finally decided to go downstairs and clean up to enjoy our evening at Palo. We went down to the atrium first and watched the kids for a while with Mickey and Minnie – I just LOVE that – and then we went to the Promenade lounge for a before dinner cocktail – like we needed it! NOT! Lol. Brian kept reminding me we didn’t have to DRIVE or GO anywhere and why was I worried? LOL. I’m making us sound like lushes…we weren’t really THAT bad…okay…well…maybe we were a little that bad….LOL. We had another amazing dinner at Palo. Marcelo was our waiter – he waited on us at brunch that morning as well – he is the sweetest thing! He is really ready to find the girl of his dreams but hasn’t met her yet. He thinks he will find her back home in Argentina. My DBF and I are both in our forties and we told him we NEVER thought we’d meet our dream person…so you just can’t give up hope ever! He made us the SWEETEST plate for dessert – you just pulled off the lid and it said “Happy Life Together”. I cried. I cannot tell you how much I loved all the people we encountered on this cruise – it truly was magical. I swear, it’s taking me so long to write about it? Because I get depressed that I’m not there again RIGHT NOW.

We went to Disney Dreams that night – caught the late show after dinner – it was really wonderful and I’m glad we got to one of the shows since all of our other plans seem to interfere with the others. This is the one I really wanted to see and I’m so glad I did – it was wonderful.

I have to say, we were so wiped out from the day? That right after the theatre? We headed off to our stateroom to pack. We knew our luggage had to be outside by 11 – it was VERY depressing. Although we had pre-paid our gratuities, we added a bit more to our envelopes – I can’t say enough about how marvelous we thought the service was on this ship, I just can’t.

The next morning, we got up with Mickey’s phone call for the last time on the ship…we were very depressed – LOL. I don’t know how anybody can be depressed listening to Mickey’s voice, but I promise on the last day of your cruise it can make you sad – lol. We gathered up the rest of our things, packed up our day bags, and looked out our beautiful porthole for the last time. Off to breakfast at Triton’s – and wouldn’t you know it? Our table companions weren’t there! It’s funny, I felt badly that we didn’t see them again after the first night at Animator’s – but you know…it was really supposed to be our little romantic dream trip….and it was….

I cannot wait to cruise Disney again!! Thanks everyone for letting me bore you with the details – I’ll post a picture from our last night – this is before dinner at Palo….hope it shows up.

LOL - the champagne is a bottle we brought with us...I'm not drinking it in the photo ;)

I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!!! :bounce:

So far...nothing booked yet :( We think it's probably best to wait until AFTER Christmas since it's just not a great time to be spending a lot of money on OURSELVES - lol.
