9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

My name is Leslie, my husband is Jody and we have a 4yo named Ethan. We just purchased this cruise last week and are really looking forward to it! It will be our 2nd Disney cruise, the first was last Nov on the Dream.

I am looking at excursion options and there are many. We really don't want to sign up for an excursion on every island because that would just get tiring. We have never been to any of these islands. So can anyone suggest which islands are easy to navigate and enjoy without doing an excursion, and which islands really need to include an excursion to appreciate?

Also, any idea which night the costume party will be on?

Thanks! really looking forward to the cruise!

We booked our flights home on 10/4 on Jet blue. They have now changed the flight. The only flights that day are 11:45am and 4:45 pm.

I would love to take the 11:45 but am afraid it would be cutting it close. What times are your flights home?

Thanks,

Tracie

If you look under "ground transportation" in the My Reservations section of the DCL website, you can see the info they have. Disney is recommending:
Earliest departure time from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport on Debarkation Day: 11:30 a.m.

That is the flight time we have, coincidentally. It's true that if the ship is late, we could be on the hook for change fees, etc., though typically when the ship is late it's because there is a hurricane, and flights can often be rescheduled under those conditions.
Now, they also say that the latest flight arrival time you should choose is 6:30 p.m. for a 9:30 p.m. drop-dead boarding time, which seems insane, so you might not want to cut it that close.

Hi all,

DH and I will be travelling with our two sons aged just 5 (turning 5 three weeks before the cruise) and 13 months. I'm starting to get nervous that I'm crazy dragging two young children to San Juan. Anyone else travelling with young ones? Are we crazy???

Oh and we will be staying at disney for 12 days prior to the cruise!

We took our son when he was almost 4, and he did great. He also had a blast in Cancún when he was 2.5. Of course, he was also already comfortable with day care. I think you'll have a great time.

"Beta" and "Mary Jo" are requesting to join our FB page, but I do not see anyone with those names here on DISboards. :confused3

I'm sure all these questions have already been asked and answered but I'll ask again anyway :)

1. IS anyone flying in the day of? We just booked our flight today and fly in the day of from Orlando. We always fly the day before but we just felt this would be easier with two small kids...any thoughts. We arrive at 12:50.

2. Is Disney offering transfers to the port and if so does anyone know how much they are charging?

Thanks :goodvibes
