9/25/03 Wonder 3-day Trip (Many Photos) Excursions: Nassau City & CC Kayaking

Mary Jo,

Thank you for sharing your cruise with us! Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself. Your BEAUTIFUL pix brought back many fond memories of our 'Golden Girls' cruise. So glad you ventured into the beautiful crystal clear ocean (clothes and all), my Mom and sis hesitated also, but were oh so glad when they finally braved it!!

Very nice, MJ!!!!! So nice to see you four neat ladies, you, Regina, Beth, and Merrie. Sure looked like a neat cruise. I have never been on one, wonder if I ever will. I was surprised at the apparent spaciousness of your cabin. Looks like you had a super time, thanks so much for sharing with us. :wave2:

What a great report Mary Jo!!!

I can almost picture you sitting in the water with your clothes on, LOL!

Thank you so much for your story and pictures!

I have had a BLAST reading your report and looking at the pics!! Some of them were just so beatiful that they almost looked unreal!!:cool2: May I ask how long the walking/kyaking trip lasted? That looks like something I would really enjoy (and I wouldn't have known to look into it if I hadn't seen your pictures!).
And I have a question about the KTTW card and picture i.d. that you stress to keep with you at all times.... do I need to buy lanyards with some kind of plastic sleeve to keep these things with me? I noticed something like that in some of your pictures...
Thanks so much for sharing your trip!!!:sunny:

Thanks for sharing your pix, MJ! We did the 3-day last July & brought back such wonderful memories! It all looks exactly like your pix! (our only big glitch was: my younger DS, age 21, snorkeled out further than he should have at Serenity Bay & scared the HELL out of me & also lost his DL & KTTW cards!)

Excellent report and photos- you have a great knack for framing the photos! Your report worked me up into a frenzy about our upcoming trip December 4. I'm encouraged to hear it was so warm- hope it stays that way!

Wonderful, Magical Report MJ!!!

I loved your report, a perfect mix of pics and story! Two thumbs up!

You have convinced me to give the kayak excursion a try!

Thanks for a wonderful warm story on a cold Nevmeber night.

Penny

I'm glad you've enjoyed the report - hopefully almost as much as I enjoyed writing it. :) I still enjoy looking at those pics & reliving the fun I had that trip.

The Nature Walk/Kayak tour lasts about 3 to 3-1/2 hours, but it goes by quickly - it's entertaining, and we were kept busy, so I was never bored. The worse thing I did was trying to keep up with Trevor (guide #2) when we walked back, so by the time we returned, I was too tired to think about getting a bike. In fact, I'm glad I didn't get a bike, and went to the beach to enjoy the time there.

Regarding the KTTW card - that is made of plastic, so as long as you keep it somewhere where you don't lose it, that would be okay. I have a little pocket purse type thing I hang around my neck, and I used that. You can buy a plastic "water purse" thingy from Target, KMart, Walmart, etc., & they sell them at the water parks, too, as well as here on the DIS. Those are really handy for keeping your money, ID, etc., waterproof ... I would probably only use those if I were going swimming. When I went on my tours, I took my backpack (got it from California Adventure), so I could carry my camera & any souvenirs I might want.

If you go on the Kayak/Nature Walk, be sure to tell Ricky that these pics are online. I told him I would share the trip on the web. :sunny:

Hi!
This was a really great trip report and great pictures! We were wondering what kind of camera that you used? The pictures were so nice & clear!

Thanks!
Dorie & Jerry

I have a Canon Powershot S30. Of course, they don't make them anymore - they've upgraded. But this one works great for me.

When I went on the kayak, I kept the camera in a Glad ziplock bag, and took it out to take pics, then put it back in so it wouldn't get wet in case we tipped over.

That's always worked for me. :sunny:

Thanks so much - I'm going w/a friend who LOVES gardens and walking, and never would've thought of suggesting either excursion until I read your report! What a happy cruiser she'll be!

My wife and I had a great time reading your report. We've never cruised before and we didn't know what to expect. The pics were fantastic. You should know that this was a great help, and a lot of fun reading. Thanks again.

What a great trip report. I can't wait until April for our "Wonder"ful vacation. I will have to show these pics to my 2 DD's. Did you happen to see where they do the hair braiding? My DD's want to have that done on the last day of our cruise.

Is there some type of way we could do a rating of some sort on the best trip reports? The way you described your trip and posted the picture below was an awesome treat for those who lack imagination (like me:teeth: ).

I honestly felt I have been on a "virtual cruise" if you will. Thank you so much for posting this. It was truly wonderful!!!

Zurg had posted a whole lot of best of threads a while ago when delswife's ramped the look sees into the thousands. I'll try to PM him to see if he can bump it.
