9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Part 2 - the Goombays just won't die....!

did you end up applying for the september fam jenny?

It's way too early to apply. My co-worker just got approved for the March fam. I probably wouldn't be able to apply until after that ended.

ah that sucks, do you know when it should be if you did go? i might not be going on the cruise and changing our plans a bit so may be down in orlando a bit earlier.

I'd probably know by late spring/beginning of summer I would think. Why aren't you going to cruise anymore?

the one way flight prices are ridiculous. so we're toying with the idea of a road trip instead, flying into washington and driving down to orlando

thats why we're stopping a few times on the way down, stopping at north carolina on the way anyway, but thinking of stopping at willliamsburg and hilton head island too

what did you think of the colonial williamsburg area? thats where we're thinking of stopping for a night. we're also looking at HHI just because its a DVC resort and i've heard its nice there

Williamsburg is great. The town is very pretty and there's a lot of stuff you can do there. I went to Busch Gardens and went on a ghost tour at night.

Just so you know though, Williamsburg is about an hour out of your way. Same with Hilton Head. I-95 will take you all the way down to Florida but the stops you mentioned aren't right off that road.

Hey guys! I'm back! The Dream was really, really nice!! Some quirky things, but mostly good. I have lots of pictures still to upload, and a video of the horn sounds and of donald going down the aquaduck. They also gave us the menus to keep, since they printed special ones that say maiden voyage on them. We got a book, a ducky williams lithograph (got ours signed), and a mini replica of the keel coin. I have my navigators to upload too.

I still haven't been able to do my rebooking, the future bookings desk was slammed the whole time so they just started writing down peoples info and they will call us. I was thinking of going on the eastern caribbean, but the westbound transatlantic is a pretty good deal...Tim won't go with on either so i'll be solo, but the WBTA seems promising if only the airfare wasn't so much to get to Barcelona!! I'm thinking about it for sure though! :goodvibes

How is everyone else doing?

we're booked on the WBTA at the mo but are having the same problem. the one way airfare back home works out as the same price as the entire cruise. its ridiculous. i really want to do this cruise though, but its just getting too expensive so its looking like we might drop out. we're toying with the idea of a roadtrip instead, flying into washington and then driving to orlando.

i'm glad y'all had a good time i can't wait to see your pictures I'm so excited some one just posted pictures of the stateroom next to ours(10664) and their veranda is big i can't wait til sept.

I'm so torn...3 ways! On one hand, I really want to do the TA cruise as we want to have kids in a couple years and then I won't be doing a two week cruise for a while! On another hand, I would he ok with doing the eastern as it's a cool itinerary. But then the Sept Dream cruises are a great deal and it would give me a chance to go on the dream again...so many choices! A lot depends on my job too, if I get a different job I might not be able to take two weeks off.

We are digging out of almost 2 feet of snow...everything was closed here today it was insane! There are drifts in my yard almost as tall as me! Jen, are you guys getting this blizzard after us?

LOL!! I worked from home again today, tried to drive in but the roads were crap so I just turned around. I spent some time looking through the trip reports from last years WBTA...baaaaaaaad idea because now I really, really, really, really want to go on it!! All of the sea days look completely fab, and lots of cool special things are going on with the dis meet thread. I can find airfare for around $500 out of Miami, but I've never flown internationally so I don't know if it's good, bad, or ok? I'll keep an eye on it, I so want to do this!

Lainey, what kind of room do you have on the Dream? Where is it at? I can tell you a couple of places that you don't want to be! Lots of cool things to do too, the Dream is really awesome. The rainforest room was really nice, but you have to book a pass quick because they sell out. The Golden Mickey's has some cool updates, and Villans and Believe were really good too. The nightclubs were awesome...I never did get to go in and have a drink at Skyline, it was always full, but we did go in to Pink. I really do want to go on the Dream again, but maybe i'll just wait for the Fantasy! :goodvibes

Ok well...my impatience has gotten the better of me! I booked the WBTA tonight, with my onboard discount. I got an 11C GTY, so back to the game of not knowing...last year I think there were lots of nice upgrades, but I don't care either way -- it will be good sleeping in a nice dark inside room! I was reading trip reports from last year today, and I just couldn't resist!! The only thing that will get me to change this is if I get a new job -- i'm applying with the IRS, and the start date would be 6/20 for everyone that gets hired, and i'm not sure they would let me take 2 1/2 weeks off in September. I really want to do this as it will probably be my last chance before kids...Tim and I may do a Europe cruise in 2012, but not sure. YAY!! Karen, I hope you and Gary stick to it, but either way it will be so much fun!! :cool1:

I don't think so. Rain and snow mix for tomorrow. I'm sick of snow. It's been snowing every week since right after Christmas. I haven't seen the ground without snow since 12/26. I can't look at it anymore!

bloody typical, you book the WBTA mary, and we've pretty much decided that we're not going on it any more. its just too much money to get back home, and garys not sure if he can have three weeks off.
lainey, i would book the 22nd, but there's no inside cabins available at all!

mary we are on deck 10 in the back 10662. I can't wait once again we are staying on board when we dock in Nassau.
Yeah karen i saw that there was one left and it got booked about 20minutes after i saw it on there.
