9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Part 2 - the Goombays just won't die....!

I knew Mary would turn up sooner or later! I figured you were busy. I live about an hour and a half from Delaware. That state is pretty but it takes all of 10 minutes to drive through lol.

Lainey, I hope you feel better! I've had a cold for almost two weeks now. I hope it's not turning into something else

Ugh, Delaware is auditing us and it's horrible.

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We are having Thanksgiving (and Tim's 30th) at the Garden Grill. A reservation popped up there the other day so I took it! It's going to suck not seeing my family on Thanksgiving OR Christmas this year, but we get to take Minnie to my Aunt's that lives by Sarasota and take her to the dog beach -- her first time in the ocean!

We are STILL trying to sell my house...since we have put ours up in June, not one house has sold in my neighborhood. Which i'm glad that something ELSE didn't sell, but really wish that mine would already!!

How is everyone else doing? The weather has been really nice for here this time of year, near 70 the last 2 days. It's funny, because when it was a "very mild" 65 here the other day everyone was outside walking around, no coats...it was a "chilly" 65 in FL the same day, and Tim was the only one at his work without long underwear and a hat and gloves on.....

its been throwing it down with rain solidly for the last 3 or 4 days here! its not too bad today though, but im stuck in the house with what i thought was food poisoning but now seems to be some other gastro thingy, because garys now got it too.
sorry to hear the house isnt selling mary, know what you mean though, you almost feel glad that no one else's is selling too!

It's been in the 50s here. Not too bad. I'm not looking forward to winter. I hate snow. mary, can I come stay with you for the winter?

I'm not sure what's going on for Thanksgiving. Usually my mom has it but my sister cooks. Since she's closing the night before thanksgiving and working at 5 am on black friday (she works in retail) I'm not sure what's gonna happen.

Did one of you ladies do Divequest last year? I remember someone mentioning it but I can't remember if it was here or in someone's TR. I have a client asking about it.

I thought it was you! What is it exactly lol. How long is it and how much? Did you like it?

It's an amazing dive, I think it's $140 per person, includes everything you need for the dive, all you need to take is a swimsuit and a prescription mask if you need one. From start to finish it takes about 3 hours. Everything else is provided, you meet outside Epcot guest relations, they'll ask to see your certification card and equipment sizes. They're quite good at guessing if you don't know. The tours start at 4.30 or 5.30
They take you on a tour of the backstage areas of living seas, then you watch a short video and have a briefing. They then take you to get changed, all your wetsuits and stuff is hanging in a locker with your name on it. They lock your locker keys away so your stuff is safe while you dive.
You then get taken up onto the gantries over the tank. Youre told not to go too near the dolphin section of the tank while diving and to not go near the section of the tank that's visible from the memo ride.
You then sit on a ledge in the water while they fit your tanks and BCD. You then get about 40 mins free diving time, you follow around the camera man for a few minutes so they can get footage for the DVD they try to sell you, then you can go off on your own with your buddy.
At the end of the dive they take your equipment (no having to wash your own kit) then you can go shower and get dressed. They'll show you the DVD they filmed and you can buy it if you want.
The price doesn't include park admission but both times I've done it theyve let us out into the park.
It's such a great easy dive, someone cleans all your kit, you dont have to worry about anything, no currents, plenty of fish, and half the fun is interacting with the guests on the other side of the glass!
Highly recommend it, and will probably be doing it next year again if we have the time spare.

i think you can only book 90 days in advance, but not 100% sure on that, i think we booked ours pretty much after the booking window opened.
also just googled it, its gone up to $175#

Hey y'all sorry i went to the mountains with my aunt who is in from FL so we just got back we had alot of fun and since it only got down to 40 at night it wasnt too bad. How have y'all been? Karen are you feeling any better and how is garys dad doing? Im glad he is done with radiotherapy

yeah i'm better now thanks, back to my normal unhealthy self!
garys dad finished radiotherapy on tuesday, so fingers crossed he continues to get better. we're going up on the 8th december to go see them for a couple of days before christmas.
