9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

jenny, you should so switch to second seating, we could have great fun! definately up for meeting up at the parties.
is anyone booking any of the shore excursions? we might possibly be up for the scuba diving in nassau but not sure yet.
we'll probably pre pay for the float/snorkelling/bike package on CC this time, we didnt do it last time but ended up paying more and hiring them on the day anyway.

i originally wasnt going to hire a car for the holiday, and get the DCL transfers, but the more i think about it, it would make a lot more sense to get a car. the transfers for DCL will be £100 just to get to the port, but for £250 i can hire a car for 16 days. think i'm going to see how much spare money i've got closer to the time.
how're you all getting to the port?

they give you bandanas on the pirate night at dinner, they're tiny though! no one on our table could get them to fit on their head properly!

well we are doing the land and sea package so we are using the transfers to cut out renting a car and possibly getting lost(with my luck we would get lost) I think i will be buying a bandana i saw pictures of people with them on and they look like they are for kids and my head is not the size of a childs.

Lainey, where are you staying for your land portion?

I think I'm going to get the Mickey pirate ears for the pirate party. I've always wanted them, they're super cute! And I have a POTC shirt with Johnny Depp and one that's gray with black skull & cross bones on it. I will be wearing one or the other!

We're doing the land & sea package too but since we're driving and not flying, we didn't get the transfers. We're going to be driving to the port and parking our car there. It's actually cheaper to do this!

We are staying at the Polynesian for our land portion i have never stayed there so i am really looking forward to it. i am just hoping they say when we check-in congratulations on your marriage you have been upgraded to the Club Level building (Hawaii)

that would be so nice!! i stayed 2 nights at AKL club level last year, its so nice!!
the more i think about it, they more it makes sense to hire a car, might go look at hire prices now......

How big of tables do they have in the dining rooms? I am a cruise newbie!! It would be fun to sit with people that we know. I remember once at Biergarten (you sit with others there if you haven't been there) we sat with this lady and her son who didn't know about the sit with others thing. She totally looked like she wanted to kill us or something. Not so fun to eat luch with!!

So, I am still at work. So much for my half day!! And the thing is, i'm done...i'm just sitting around waiting for them to upgrade my system. We are redoing our bathroom this weekend, so we have major work going on, and I would like to get home to prepare some stuff. And I still need to find a glass shelf from the store...so much to do!!

Alright, I'm going to talk to DBf tonight and see if he's ok with second seating. If I switch, you all have to promise me that we will put in requests to sit with each other. Otherwise, this will be for nothing!

i've asked over on the cruise board and they suggest that we link reservations together afer everyone has booked their shore trips etc as it may interfere with that otherwise. but i'm definately up for doing it.

The only shore excursion I plan on doing is the CC 4 in 1 deal where you get snorkeling equipment, a float, bike rental, and stingray feeding. Nassau is a stay on the ship day for me!

we'll probably book that CC package too but without the stingray feeding, we ended up hiring the floats and the bikes last time anyway, so may as well save some money by booking it in advance.
yeah definately up for linking the reservations so we can all sit together. try and convince your BF to swap to second seating!

I don't think he'll have a problem with it. He lets me make the plans and goes along with everything!

gary's like that too, he doesnt really bother at all with any of the planning, he knows i like to arrange (read: obsess over ) everything so he just leaves me to it!

at least this time the bike ride will be more enjoyable..... they didnt tell us when we got the bikes that there aren't any brakes, you have to peddle backwards to stop it. we didnt know this and then went down the hill and panicked that we couldnt stop! we thought we were going to end up in a bush!!

Thank you for giving me the heads up on the brakes! I would've had no idea and would have flipped myself over the handlebars. I haven't been on a bike in a long time so this is sure to be interesting.

be careful of the first corner, you go round it and there's a slight downhill slope. not that big of a slope, but when you think you dont have any brakes and you start speeding up..........
put it this way, gary ended up bleeding as he was using his feet to stop it! not a clever move!

they've probably got a hidden camera there and put it on america's funniest videos or something! although it is funny when you're coming back and see all the other people making the same mistake!

mmm, friday night, glass of baileys and watching south park. life isn't too bad! shame i have to wait til monday to book my holiday.... if i could book it today that'd be perfect.....

I love South Park! That show cracks me up. I'm about to leave work in a few minutes so I won't be on much longer. I don't have any plans tonight (other than a date with The Soup!) because I have to work at 7 am tomorrow I think I'm going to see Monsters vs Aliens tomorrow night. Hope to chat with you tomorrow!
