I'm booked in a cat 11, I already have my room number. I'm hoping for an upgrade. I may casually mention that I work at a TA and see what happens. :rotfl:

I'll call Disney and ask once the dates come out just to be sure. There's no harm in asking! If not, ah well!

you've got nothing to lose, its worth asking!!
i've got it in my head now that i'll be doing this cruise and the free dining, it'll crush me if they dont offer it!

Usually the rumors on this board turn out to be true so I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. You said you were planning on staying at Pop right? Have you stayed there before?

I need to read your TRs! I'm planning on doing my first for this trip!

i started the trip report, got about a week into it, then never really got back into it. i really should finish the other 2 weeks!
i'm hoping that the rumors are true, really really hoping!!
never stayed at POP before, we've stayed in POR and AKL before but this will be our first time in a value. its just a room to us, as long as its clean it'll do for us!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Pop. The rooms are basic but the resort itself is really nice. I've stayed there everytime I've gone to WDW but this time we're staying at POR for the first part, then DCL, and then 2 nights at ASMo. Never stayed at either resort! Did you stay in Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou when you stayed at POR? I'm so excited! The resort looks gorgeous!

we stayed in the mansions, we got married in the wedding pavilion in 2005 so were there as part of our honeymoon. the CM checking us in was so nice, she was going through the entire list of every available room trying to find us the nicest view and location, she kept going "no thats no good, thats a bad view, thats got one window etc...! we ended up in the Oak Manor section in one of the rooms where the building kinda goes in towards the middle, had a lovely courtyard view and 2 windows! the CMs there were great, we had a ticket issue (not Disneys fault) and they sorted that out while we were in the parks for the day. we ended up giving the front desk staff the top tier of our wedding cake as a thank you!
we're going for POP this time as its a bit more of a budget trip (the cruise wasnt supposed to be in there!! ;) ) so its a value for us this time.
think i will end up going for pop in the end, but i'll take any value thats available with the free dining. i like the look of all star movies but ive heard its in need of a renovation. if we cant get into pop, we'll probably go with all star music.

:welcome: to our thread!! And I am totally jealous that you are getting married on Castaway Cay!! That rocks! Maybe I should get married there...if only I could talk my DH into getting married again, LOL!! :rotfl:

You should do a Vow Renewal! It's the best place to get married...or "re-married" if you ask me! :thumbsup2

mikkel, what've you got planned for your wedding so far then? i love hearing about weddings!!

Luckly i don't have to worry about chocolate i am one of the few women who don't like it my mom said that there must be something wrong with me. :rotfl:
I'm like jenny i already have my stateroom number it is 7628 we have a nav. ver. room and we are staying at the Poly for the begining of the trip which i have never done and i have never had a verandah on a cruise. yeah my wedding dress and the dress for the cruise and end of the reception will be my only dresses worn for quite a while i am def. not a girly girl if i am most def.a jeans and t-shirt person.

ditto, much prefer a pair of combats to a dress. not even a skirt kinda girl!

I think I want to stay in the Alligator Bayou section when we go. I like the rustic feel to it. But either way, it doesn't matter. I'm always on the go at WDW. A room is just a place to sleep and shower. If you stay at ASMu, be sure to stop by and say hello! :)

I need to get some shorts for vacation! I wear capri pants a lot but those won't do in the Florida heat!!

i need to get a load of new clothes, but its still cold here in the UK til about june so gotta wait til then!
i've heard rumours that the free dining will be available to disney visa card holders tomorrow so should be available for the general public by the end of the month, i'm so excited!! cant wait to sart getting things booked!!

Well it looks like you'll be on our cruise then! :thumbsup2

Does anybody have 2nd seating for dinner??

i need to get shorts too but i have worn capris to disney tons of times mainly b/c of the water rides i hate walking around with wet shorts on i can handle the capris, but i think i am gonna try and get some bermuda shorts (not the dorky ones but the blue jeans ones) since i have a problem finding shorts some times. It stinks that it is still cold in the UK here in Ga it is about 65 to 70 each day this week but it is also overcast and the pollen is out in full force it is begining to show up on my car!!!(its YELLOW!!!) They started putting out summer clothes when it was still in the 40's (which i guess to most people that isn't low but for us it is really cold)

thank goodness we dont have that pollen problem here, i've got a white car so it'd be a nightmare trying to keep it clean!! its been blowing a gale here the last few days, the wind has been so bad, which is such a difference from the weekend, it was lovely and sunny.
looking forward to getting back to florida, i love the sun and the heat. never been in september before so hoping its not too hot and humid. i've been once in july and it was so hot and so busy, it wasnt so relaxing that time, but i've heard that september is the quieter time in the world.

jenny, we jad second seating for dinner last time, not sure which one we're going to go for this time, i dont fancy having to have dinner so early on the first seating, but last time on the second seating we didnt finish dinner most nights until 10pm. not sure which way to go this time. what seating have you all got?

Lainy - so fun we're both planning weddings! 10lbs? I'm JEALOUS! And you don't like chocolate? I think I have to take your temperature. :rotfl: I especially love DESSERTS so yeah, they're never low-fat. Oh well. :cutie:

Jen - Jason (DF) and I LOVE Maggiano's! It's one of our favorite places to go together! And I noticed you have a countdown to the Harry Potter movie? I work for Universal Creative on the Harry Potter project team!

And I have lots of wedding details up on my planning journal (PJ) here! Just click the link in my signature. That'll probably tell you more than even my family knows since a lot of that is a surprise!

Hmmm...this weekend I had relatives in town (still here) so we basically CLEANED a lot on Saturday (it's always a good kick-in-the-butt to clean when we have visitors), snuck a movie in during the day ("I Love You, Man"...it was good!) and then picked them up from MCO at around 8:30pm. They slept over, then Sunday we went with them to Animal Kingdom and dinner at Epcot. It was a GREAT day!

Tonight I'm off to meet them and DF (he had to go home to walk the dog and I'm just working late instead of backtracking to go home since he gets off at 5pm and I normally get off at 6pm) at Boma for dinner. Can't wait! I love that place...only ate there once a few years ago.

QUESTION: What's free dining? Is it a WDW promotion?

Me and my DFi have 2nd seating i did it the last time i was on the cruise and it is closer to the time me and my DFi are use to eating. We liked it the last time i was on the cruise b/c of the shows we liked being able to go see them and then going to eat dinner.
The pollen kills my car it is Black I WILL NEVER HAVE A BLACK CAR AGAIN!!! Compared to the humidity we have in Ga i love FLA!! it is great i mean july and august suck no matter where you go it is generally humid but i have been in Fla during every month and none are quite as bad as home so to me anything is better than the humidity here it gets so bad that when you walk outside during the summer some days its hard to breath b/c the air feels so thick.

PixyDusted yeah everyone wants to take my temp when they hear that i don't like chocolate it makes it harder on my DFi(Greg) when Valentines day comes around b/c he cant get me a box of chocolates i told him he will just have to get more creative. Yeah planning the wedding it great but really STRESSFULL my mom is taking off from work the week of my wedding and the week after just to recover!

cor i dont think i could handle that, whats september like? is the humidity bad?

Mikkel, the free dining is a promo that disney do normally in late august and september, you have to pay rack rates for a room and buy at least one day ticket for everyone there, and then you get the dining plan for free.
they changed the UK free dining offer last year, so hoping that the american free dining stays the same as its always been. i'm hoping to be able to book POP with a one day ticket (we've got annual passes so dont need longer tickets) and the free dining. rumor has it that it'll be available to book from the 30th, which is a lot earlier than it has been the past few years, keeping fingers crossed!

from what i remember Sept, Oct and Nov are good times to visit disney it usually isnt too windy or humid and it is begining to get cooler. I think the worst time i have ever been has been June and April (summer break was alittle too humid and very crowded and April was too cold and was very crowded)
