9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

It's sad that it took someone dying to get MTV to play music videos. What I don't get even more is that MTV has secondary channels and even those don't play videos. It's beyond me that they even have the VMAs anymore because they don't play anything! It's all Real World, Hills, and other reality stuff.

Mary, yes the Jabbawockeez are unreal. They do a 80s-90s medley and it's so good. I don't want to give it all away. They always do a number to PYT too so I'm sure they'll do some kind of a tribute to Michael Jackson. I was lucky enough to meet them all at my last NKOTB show and they were all so nice. One of the guys even gave me a hug because I told him I voted for the Jabbawockeez on ABDC.

right, we're in for ohanas, i've had to swap a couple of ADRs around, and now i'm going to pay for biergarten out of pocket (its the cheapest ADR we've got booked) so we've got enough credits for ohanas!!
i'm going to ask over on the restaurants board if there's going to be any problem with splitting the bill between peoples dining credits and paying with cash. dont think there will be but i'm going to ask anyway......

i've just booked another reservation for ohanas for 8 people at 8.30 (couldnt get 8.20) on the 21st, just in case there ends up being more than 8 of us wanting to come. i can always cancel it later, but not sure on how many are actually coming at the mo!!

who is definately coming so far then?

So far I think it's the 8 of us. Me, u, our guys, plus Mary and Lainey and their guys. We get to be tablemates a couple nights early.

It's at 7:30. It was supposed to storm today but it looks decent out right now. Hopefully it stays that way.

i looked at the weather forecast here earlier and it said its supposed to rain heavily at 10pm (ie in ten minutes), its lovely outside at the moment.
At 8am this morning it was lovely and sunny so i didn't take a coat to work. I went out for lunch, it was getting a bit overcast and as soon as i got out of the shop where i got my lunch it absolutely chucked it down. I got totally soaked.
Moral of the story, go to the concert with a coat just in case.

We're getting ready to leave for NKOTB in a few minutes!! The gates open in 30 minutes, its about 3 minutes from my house. It's hot here today, but nice. Tim isn't coming with to 'Ohanas, my DSis Amy is. Tim isn't getting in until the night before the cruise. Does anyone know how long it takes to drive to Disney from Universal?

Donna, we booked the rausal too. I booked it for Castaway Cay day right after we get back on the ship, before the show and dinner. Did you book a couples massage? I'm super excited about this one!!

I booked the Rasul for Friday at 9:30 and the Couples Massage at Castaway Cay at 11:00. I am excited about both of them, considering what you would pay to go to the Sybaris this is a bargin....and frankly way cooler. Open air massage in a cabana at the beach...you just can't beat that!

i did look at the couple's massage last year but the cost got me! We didn't actually do any excursions last time but i've booked 3 for this time as we know what to expect this time.

Its now officially exactly 11 weeks til we fly out! our flight is at 9am so we'd be taking off at this time!

hows everyone's weekend going?
we've had a really nice day, my old primary (elementary) school backs onto the park where we take cerby out for his run. when we were out in the park this morning we realised that they were setting up for their annual school fair. we went out for lunch (with a 50% voucher i might add!! ) then went to the fair on the way back. we were only there for about half an hour, and between us we won 2 stuffed toys, and 3 bottles of wine!!! result!!
then we came home and gave cerby a bath, then took him and drove to thorpe bay seafront, parked the car, walked up to the train station, got the train into southend, and walked back along the seafront to the car. we were out for about 2 hours, cerby loves it as he gets sooooo much attention off total strangers all afternoon! and we get the added bonus of a quiet night as the dog sleeps for the rest of the day!

oh btw: not sure if this is of any help to anyone, but the animal kingdom picnic in the park dining option is now available for parties of 2 (it used to be a minimum of 3 people/dining credits). now theyve changed the rules its something i'm considering, its only 2 counter service credits, and theres not many dining options at AK that appeal to us.

So tomorrow is ADR time for me. I already have the alarm set for 4:45 am so I can get up early and try the online reservation system. Hopefully I want have to resort to calling in, I have heard wait times are really long!

Anyway, Karen here is a photo update on the progress on your FE! FYI: To take the pictures we laid it on the same material Bob used for the pockets...he thought it made it easier to see the material he used in the body.

And here are the pockets up close. They are actually not attached yet, we just took a picture of them placed on the body of the FE to give you an idea of what it looks like. The pockets and the entire border will have the same light shade of purple seen in the background material outlining them. According to Bob, this will make the pockets stand out more from the blue. Also he is toying with adding a little "bling" to the pockets. Also, he wanted me to tell you, that you shouldn't feel obligated to use it if you don't like it...he is having fun making them, and channeling his inner Martha Stewart.

And here is our FE, with some slight modifications, and a new sign he wants to hang with it.

Bob is still working on a second or auxiliary FE for us...even I haven't seen that one yet.

good luck with the ADRs tomorrow, to be honest i just went straight ahead and called up, i find it so much more convenient for a CM to look at all the ADR times, instead of me having to try 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm........ etc.

Okay, so i'm kind of freaking out!! I've check my reservation before on the dining website, and it came up fine, with my cell phone number. Well, now it is a mere 5.5 hours before I am to make all of our very well planned out dining plans...and it WON'T WORK!!!

Well, this just sucks!! It worked last week, so I just assumed (that's what I get for assuming!!) that it would work now. I have to make a Le Cellier ressie for 6, so that is probably just not going to happen now. Drat!! The rest should be okay though...we'll see at 5am

thats kinda why i still made all my ADRs on the phone, i think the website went live a couple of days before i had to call for my reservations, but i'd had a play around with it and i couldnt get it to work reliably.
i had important ADRs i really wanted so just called them up instead. is calling at 7am EST an option for you?

on a really annoying note, my cell phone is broken.
well technically its garys cell, we both wanted new phones, he is eligible for a new contract on wednesday, but about 3 weeks ago i signed up for a new contract, got the phone gary wanted, he'd had that one for the last few weeks, and the plan was to upgrade his contract next weekend, and for him to get the more expensive phone thats not available on my contract, then i get that one.
so at the mo i've got his nokia n95. good phone, until this morning, its having a hissy fit, its acting almost like one of the buttons is jammed, it keeps trying to call the top number in my contacts list. the buttons are fine though, gary thinks its almost like its got a virus. but it was fine last night.
additionally annoying is that gary got up at 6am for work, i was going to get up at 7.15, but had to get up when he left as i use my phone as my alarm clock so would have had no way to make sure i woke up.

so now i'm tired and phoneless. feel like someone has cut my right arm off!! i dont use my phone that much but i'm used to having it available.
and the phone is in garys name, i'm going to try and take it into the store to get it replaced but chances are that they wont let me as its his phone...... i'll probably have to wait until at least tomorrow til he can take it in....

Donna, were you able to get your reservations? I had a tiny glimmer of hope, some guy on the restaurants board said that they take the site down every night and then your reservation won't come up. I was like, maybe that is my problem. Nope. It won't work. We already can't get our ressie for the 27th at the time that we wanted, so we are starting off the bat 0 for 1. This isn't looking good!

Mary...were you able to get in to do your ADRs? I got in yesterday, it let me put in my DVC reservation number....but no such luck this morning. The half hour wait to call in is killing me!

Karen, that really sucks about your phone! I was phoneless for about a week last year and it was rough. At the time we were not eligible for another phone, so I ended up buying on an ebay. When upgrade time rolled around in this March I got a touch screen phone which even when the phone was locked kept dialing all by itself in my purse...then I had to send that back in and I got a different phone, (Blackjack II) which took 10 days to come in. Now that I have the Blackjack...I love it and all is well...but it was rough without the phone!

LOL, I think we posted at the same time. I'm totally bummed right now!! I was so excited for the online ADRs and now I can't use them.

We wanted Cali Grill for our first night there around 7ish so that we can see the fireworks. The only thing I could get was 5:40 or 9. SUCKO!! I took the 5:40, maybe they will have something better when I call. I am just so sad about this!
