9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

well gary's finally managed to get home, 48 hours or so after he was due home. he gave up waiting for a flight and got the bus back, which seems to have been the best idea, as airspace is closed til at least 1pm tomorrow, and will probably be later than that (they originally said it would only be closed for 6 hours, opening thursday at 6pm). a load of airlines have cancelled all flights til at least monday morning
a few people from the UK disboards are stuck in orlando at the mo and dont know when they'll get home. oh well, if i was going to get stuck anywhere, thats a pretty good place!

Glad Gary got home ok. One of the women in another AAA office is stuck in Germany at the moment. They told her hopefully she'll be home by Friday! Luckily she has family there so at least she has a place to stay. I wouldn't mind being stuck in Orlando. I would've went right back to Disney lol.

and apparently seaworld are offering free entry to stranded passengers!
one of the women at work is stuck in portugal at the mo, and DCL have officially issued a statement about it, as the first of the med cruises is due to sail in 4 days!

Then I would be spending all my time at Sea World! It's cleared up a bit hasn't it? I heard some of the airports have re-opened.

apparently disney have jumped on the bandwagon too and offered free entry. supposedly the airspace is due to reopen soon, so fingers crossed people will be able to make it home soon.

ooh, had to share, i won 20 disney pins on ebay for $7.90!!!!!!!! shame that any airmail will take ages because of this darn volcano!

Yeah, I saw that announcement earlier. I think it said it was only for today and tomorrow. Still, that's great. I don't think I would mind being stuck in FL.

Awesome! I never got into pin trading. I have one Disney pin and thats from completing the travel agent program. I have TONS of Universal pins because when I went on the fam last year, they gave you a pin for every question you answered correctly. I have about 15 or 20 plus a jacket I won.

cool! you must have loads of cool stuff from winning quizzes and stuff. i'm going to try and go through as much of the disney store training as poss, because normally, for every one you do, you get another pin.

We had to take something called the Disney College of Knowledge. We got a pin and graduation cap mickey ears!

jealous! i want a hat! when i get asked to do it (a lot of people are being asked at the mo) i'm going to do the disney ambassador training.

need to stop looking at pins..... i've bid on a lot of 50 after just buying 20.

There's nothing wrong with that! Kris though I was nuts because I was looking up tips on how to score extra points on buzz lightyear. I was like "I have to beat all of you guys! Half of you have never been there before!"

you kicked our butts! then again i suck at that game so its not hard. a monkey could probably kick my butt at that game!

i dont think i'll win the second lot i've bid on, but then again i didnt think i'd win the first lot for the price i did! $0.39 per pin (plus shipping), not too shabby indeed!

Buzz Lightyear is pure luck. There are times when I get 800k on that ride and the next time I can't even break 100k. TSM requires skill. Buzz is just point and shoot and hope you hit something!

Not feeling great but better than the past couple days. My fever finally broke. I'm back at work because I think I've used up most of my sick time! If I feel worse later, I'll leave.

i've just had a huge argument with one of my college friends and am now 2 "friends" lighter. i feel surprisingly ok with it i dont need people like that in my life.

What happened?

started off with them bugging me about donating to a charity thing, i'd said that i was going to give them money at the end of the month when i got paid, then they started with the snide remarks about if i could afford the ticket to a show then i can afford to give them money. i didnt think that i needed to justify my spending to anyone, and one of them especially (she didnt speak to me for 5 years because she blamed me for her getting pregnant and needing an abortion).
it then ended up with me getting a load of stuff of my chest that's been there for about 9 years, which they didnt like so dont want to know me anymore. oh well, their loss, if they're going to be like that, they're not friends i want around anyway.

waiting for gary to finish getting changed then we're off to london to see Jeff Dunham!!!!!!!!!!! soooooo excited to see this show! i love his comedy central specials!
