Just a question? When you said that you had a trial and had to cancell was it more that 30 days out for a full refund. Thanks

It was more than 60 days out, so we got a full refund and just switched our itinerary to the following week.

Port Everglades Harbormaster's Report

I see the Disney Wonder for Thursday 9/9 but don't see the Disney Magic for 9/11. I wonder if something has changed since the original post?

Amazing what you can find on the Internet.

Here's the link to the article about the port.Sand closes busy Port Canaveral

The magic is listed on berth #25 for 9/11/04. I'm hoping when we cruise next week PC will be opened.

On Port Canaveral's web site, they said that the Magic will be using Port Canaveral. I read somewhere that there are places in the channel that only had 27 foot depth, which is less than the 37-41 feet it is supposed to be at. Found on another website where the Magic draws....

"Specifications: 83,000 tons, 964 ft. long, 106 ft. wide, 25.3 ft. draft, 5 thrusters, 1 pair fin stabilizers"

So 1 foot 3 inches to spare :)

Here is the official announcement from Disney on the Port Canaveral website

Disney Cruise Line Update

September 10, 2004

September 10, 2004, Celebration, Florida - Disney Cruise Line announced today that its two ships, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, will set sail from Port Canaveral this weekend as originally planned.

Due to inclement weather created by Hurricane Ivan, the Disney Magic will be sailing on a modified Eastern Caribbean sailing that includes ports in St. Thomas and San Juan rather than its original Western Caribbean itinerary. The Disney Wonder will sail to Nassau in the Bahamas. Guests who have questions about these sailings should call (800) WDW-CRUISE. Media inquiries can be directed to Rena Langley with Disney Cruise Line Media Relations at (407) 566-3687.

Woo Hoo! The Port is open and things are getting back to normal. I'm sure the residents of that area will be happy to see the $$$ sailing back in. They were really taking a hit with the ships not being able to get in.
