Oh, I thought I may be the only person worried about being healthy. I had a sniffle today and I almost panicked!

For those spending some time in Barcelona, I would recommend going to Montserrat. I went last year with my mom when we did a Princess cruise and I really liked it. My mom really liked visiting the La Sagrada da Familia church.

I am so excited, I just can't stand it. :mickeyjum
me too! I start walking quickly and I think "be careful you don't want to twist anything" I cough and I've become a hypochondriac...just want to feel good!!!! And I'm driving like an old lady cause I don't want to get into an accident!! Need to stop worrying or we'll all jinx ourselves.

Packing, I think I will only take half of my things laying on the bed.
Then take half and put back in the closet. I can wash on the cruise.
It only vacation time....:laundy::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Helpin' build up the count ...

Just found out today dear friends from Calgary who are frequent denizens of the Cinque Terre will be staying there for two weeks helping with the "raccolta" of the grapes. While we're in port!

Offer is to meet us in La Spezia and guide us up. Thern he said why not leave the ship in Civitavecchia and o/night in like Manarola or Vernazza?

Izzat doable? Anybody know if they'd let us do our own connection like that and rejoin the ship in La Spezia? We don't mind missing Rome having done it so many times before but to be in the C.Q. for an overnight with fanatic friends of the area who know the locals real well sounds like a great deal!

Opinions welcome. Expressions of jealousy not excluded either. ;-@

Call DCL and ask, I know in the past someone on the repo from Barcelona to
Dover (June 2010 ) they meet the ship in the first Port of Call, It won't hurt to ask.

I always say that, but end up taking it all...and wearing only half anyway. I keep saying this time I'll be good...but I'm not so sure!

Doing my part to help the count too...

What port is everyone looking forward to the most?

Since I have been to some of these ports before, I had been looking forward to Valletta. But over the past couple days, I think I am looking forward to seeing the Cinque Terra (hope the weather's nice)

:cheer2:

Check with DCL. All transportation will be on your own. But its would be like missing the boat. And OK - I'm jealous but :thumbsup2 Good for you. Try it - its an adventure.

Johanna,

On the Mt Vesuvius hike, make sure you take some sturdy shoes. The first 1/2 mile or 10-15 min is loose shale like footing. We hiked it in 2007. We were lucky in that the second we passed the souvenir shack, a cloud came over the top and stayed the entire time we were hiking. As soon as we stepped on level ground about 2 hrs laters, it came out. It was also the end of Sept and hot. There is a small hut up there but other than that, take water. Its not hard if you take your time but can be taxing if your speedy Gonzalez. Use a walking stick. I did and it definitely saved me a couple of times. I think they have them at the start of the hike. Steve ended up returning his but I definitely needed it. Have fun and take pictures. Look for the steaming hole. It was "on" while we were there. Also, almost at the top, we had a local "guide" come out and give us a bit of info on the Mt which made it a bit more interesting to me but she was very soft spoken.

Oh and bathrooms were 1 euro to use.

Anyone have an idea how many are on the back to back? We never did a back to back, the longest was the west bound to LA (15 days).

Good Friday Morning to all DCL Med Cruises.
The time is going really fast.
Have a good day today.
Last weekend before we leave so a lot to do....
We can get all things done.....

renegade7: I think we are on the same Mt. V. tour. :cool1:

Being that this is our first Disney cruise, I think I am almost more excited about the cruise itself than any one port. I am such a Disney Dork!

Thanks for the info on this tour. I have signed up for this tour but I am still debating. I really want to hike a volcano but I have been to Pompeii before. My backup plan if I cancel is to go the Archeology Museum in Naples.

The DCL brochure states that there was no bathrooms available so its good to know that there are some even if it costs money. I heard that there is also a charge for the walking sticks. Is that correct? Do you have enough time for the hike? I think DCL brochure says we will have 40 minutes roundtrip but other reviews have stated that it takes much longer.

CQuick...Sorry...haven't checked the board in a few days. We're in 8014.thx!
