9-08-2010 Pirates through the Mediterranean/ Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirates Life for Us

I do have all the navigators and information & will be working on a trip report soon. I can't remember offhand at the moment & am still getting caught up on everything, but will try to remember to send a PM when I get everything done. It was a great cruise... but I definitely would recommend the 11 night version with the extra day after Rome. We were EXHAUSTED following that day. A day at sea would have been heavenly.

We were thinking the same thing. It was fast paced and I was living on adrenalin. The entire trip was amazing. All of our guides were amazing with the exception of our bus guide Anthony who was a wee bit neurotic and depressed but despite that he offered a lot of information. And when we arrived in Rome that day our city guide Patricia was AMAZING! I can't stop saying amazing.

We are now looking into the 7 day Kids sail free and Alaska cruise!!!

I also second the need for the additional day at sea. We were wiped out after Rome and needed more sleep.
Note: I also have all of the navigator's and they have all of the entertainment schedules on them.

Simba One checking in post cruise: I got really sick after the 2 day flight home, air controller problems in Madrid caused delays, altogether not a good trip home. Today, Thurs, first day I feel better. Slept Sunday till Tuesday without eating a thing. Loved the cruise and had a great time meeting everyone! Special greetings to the kids of Colorado Disney Freaks! You guys were AWESOME! Hope homework was not too backed up! Next time would do 11 days with a break in the middle for rest. To all of you still on board for the B to B hope the Atlantic is calm and Happy Sailing! Greetings to Table 38 the Best table on the SHIP!!!!:banana::banana:

Hi Brenda - We so enjoyed meeting you and Bill. Hubby and I are looking at the Alaskan Cruise and my daughter and I are also looking at the Kids Sail Free offer for January. Disney does it best.

We are with you - by Villefranche we were so "done" - liked Nice but probably should have went to the beach by the port instead of Monoco because it would have required so much less energy.

WHEN they announce an Eastern Med itinerary for 2012 (fingers crossed) we will use what we learned here and schedule a light day here and there. A beach day in Crete after Athens sounds like the ticket for us!!

I am kicking myself for not booking the 11 nighter - because I didn't want to leave. And since Delta had a 2 hour delay on our flight going home and then sat on the tarmack for an additional 2 hours before departing, we were forced to stay the night in Atlanta, not getting home until Sunday anyway.
Good ol' Delta....did I mention I hate them? Got one of my bags back finally this morning (with some missing items) but one of my bags is still missing and they have no idea where it is..........

I can't wait to go again...My husband doesn't know it but I have us booked for the Kids Sail Free in the MR the first week of March. Going to break it to him slowly and make him think it was his idea.:rotfl2: I figure I can talk him into it because it is a 2 hour direct flight with no connections, no customs which hopefully means no lost luggage. Easy Peasy.

As this was our first cruise we have become hooked. My DW and me are already looking at cruises for next year when we come back to the US. And not that I know how the FE works I will have better ideas for gifts.

What's the scoop on Greece?

We had a wonderul time On the Ship and our Grandaughter throughly enjoyed herself. One little story I must share about the language barrier lol. Evie-Mae was in the Oceaneer club we had just sat down to Lunch when we got a text asking us to ring the club. I knew it must be impotant as usually you just get a text can you pick up from club, I left my meal and rushed to the telephone to be told by the Councellor that Evie-Mae had had a spill, I replied would she like us to pick her up and take her back to the room to change her, or would she rather I just brought her some clean clothes to change into. A confused councellor said no she is ok and wants to stay here but we just wanted to let you know she as had a spill, What has she spilt I replied lol, Councelor HUH! Oh you are English she has had a fall and banged her knee.
I just found this so funny(not the fall but a spill to us is when you spill a drink or something down you) I couldnt stop giggleling for the rest of my meal. Another time I asked someone where the Rubbish bin was no answer so I repeated myself he said I heard you I am just trying to work out what that is lol a Trashcan he told me.
Thankyou all or your lovely imaginative FE Gifts

Good to hear you are getting some of your luggage back wish we could have helped you out more. Hopeully everything will eventually turn up. Look on the bright side you will have all your FE gifts sorted for your next cruise :)

We hate Delta too, not that it helps you now! It's great that you had a good time anyway, and I'm sure you're totally happy you can change out of those jean shorts! :lmao:

I'm in such vacation mourning, it's not even funny, and even though Ryan is not getting up at 2:00am any more, I still am, except when I took Nyquil, so I think I'm going to take it again tonight!

We booked a placeholder cruise on board, our fingers are crossed for an eastern med itinterary in 2012, we heard a rumor that DCL is pulling permits for Alexandria, pyramids by Disney anyone?!!!!!

Looks like you all had a great time, good to hear! Would have prefered an 11 night too for next year but the dates didn't fit well...
Glad to hear you kept your Navigators. If someone could just let me know which night you had what dinner and show I would be happy. If someone could scan the Navigators I would be trilled :)
No need to hurry though, have 299 days before our cruise :)

I read this to DH and he started singing "Anchors Away..." :rotfl2:

I am seriously booking us for the 2012 for sure. We are thinking of scheduling a 5 day on the Dream over the summer so I'd probably book then, if not use points for it. We joined the DVC onboard. We're totally hooked on the cruises but the parks are awesome too. Gosh, pyramids.... and Greece and Crete. Just wow, awesome.

Me too Simba One! Got so sick on the flight home. Slept for 3 days. Didn't eat for 2. Only felt strong enough on Thursday to finally get back to work. Had a great time though. Best cruise yet! I agree on the 11 nighter being a much better choice. I think they could also have just switched La Spezia and Corsica and acheived a little serenity back in our day. Corsica was a great beach day and not far off course. After Rome, a great beach day would have been lovely.
I have to disagree on one of your points though......Table 23 was the Best table everrrrr....!!!!!!

Greetings Penguinmomma and StLucie! Good to see you both! Went back to work today but felt groggy all day, still having equilibrium problems! Colorado! That Greek/Pyramids thing sounds intriguing! I think we are gonna have to put that on our 2012 calender! We all gonna get on board for that one? How about you Deb and Jill? Table 38 onboard? (and yes we were the best!) StL...is Cali back to work?

I totally agree! We were the 6:00 table 23 and that table totally rocked!!!! :cool1:

Ryan finally stopped waking up and coming down to breakfast, sitting down and going "Good morning, this is Brent, your cruise die-rector". I'm sorta sad about that!

No - I'm still wearing them just so I can pretend I am still on vacation. People at work are looking at me strangely. Just kidding - but hey, I was lucky to find shorts and a swim suit in September in Paris - the summer clothing selection was slim pickens- it was all Fall/Winter!
Would love an Eastern Med - we have done it on a different cruise line and I know it would be WAY better with Disney. I tried to get my husband to the DVC Presentation, but he wouldnt' go.

Yep, she (caligirl/Jo) went back to work the next day (Sunday). I couldn't move. LOL She's taking it easy today though. I think today is a good "sea" day.

I think that the 6pm Table 34 rocked, LOL! I wonder how many of us passed each other and never knew it. The only person that I met was cquick.
