9-08-2010 Pirates through the Mediterranean/ Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirates Life for Us

Okay...I'll play. How do you know when you reach a 1000 posts and what happens?

I figured out the number, the last one was #940 and this one will be #941. But still the question what happens when you reach 1000? I could post 59 replies right now. I am working midnights on switchboard at a small hospital and the calls are few and far inbetween.

Only:
5 more days of work
1 birthday Party
2 term papers
2 final exams

before we are on way. I can not wait!!!!!!

Good Morning Cruisers....

I week from today I will be doing final prep. I have my wax, wrap up things at work, massage, mani/pedi and going over my list so I am not forgetting anything, becuase next Sunday I will be getting on the plane (bright and early). :yay: I can't belive after 2 years this trip is finally here.

Up early....lots to do before we leave!!! Tried to finish packing last night. Who am I kidding.... tried to start packing.:rotfl:
The list is getting shorter.. so there is hope yet!
Weather forecast in Barcelona looks good. highs in the low 80's lows in the high 60's.

Early ports look a little warm.

Who will get 1000??????

It does look like the weather will be great, of course we're spending 2 days in London and 2 in Paris where right now it's cold and rainy, why oh why couldn't we have had sunny weather so we could wear the same darn clothes! I was figuring I'd do some laundry the first sea day but may not need to, then again, maybe it will need to!

Luckily (or not) I've got a distraction today since I'm going to Milliken CO to visit a friend who just got back from Afghanistan. They're going to drink margaritas (I'm on water, saving those calories for the cruise!) and we're going to paint her garage!

But, until I go, I've got 45 minutes or so to work on FE gifts, so off to do that! Almost 2 years of planning, almost over!!!!! :rotfl:

Although we found this board too late to get on the Fish Extender list, I ordered one and a pillowcase from Gradysmommy today. Since we have 7 adults and one four year old in our party, we have our own mini fish extender list for my son. It is such a great idea! With working 60+ hours a week and playing travel agent for a party of eight, there just weren't enough hours in the day to get in on all the fun. Who knew a 10-day cruise took so much research and planning. We are so excited and can't wait!! We look forward to seeing all of you on board. Good luck with your travels!

Almost to 1000....

So I asked about what ports everyone is looking forward to the most. How about, what everyone is looking forward to the most on the ship?

I am so excited. I think for me, it has to be going on a disney cruise. I don't think I have ever been this excited about a cruise before. Second, I have been thinking about trying the Rainforrest room. I am not the spa type, but reviews have been good. Has anyone here experienced the Rainforrest or any other spa tratment?

We are having the same problem with packing! I like to be prepared for all situations - so the two different weather forcasts are frustrating. I guess I will have to do layers. I'm also an overpacker and I usually don't wear half of what I bring, so I need go through again and start weeding through. Not to mention having to make room for formal night, pirate night, FE gifts, all of my DDs necessities etc!

4 more nights of sleep before I get to leave!:dance3::dance3:

I hope you can get it in time! It took me about a month to get mine from her but it came out great. I just realized she did the pillowcases last night but since we leave in a few days, I won't be able to get one..:sad2:

I am most looking forward to seeing my daughter's face when she sees the boat and all the characters - especially the countdown. We have been watching the Phil, Emma and Ben videos and she loves doing the countdown.

As for the spa, I'm definitely taking advantage and will be trying out the rainforrest room. I had a massage booked, but then I heard they have daily special packages, so I'm waiting for that. We do have the Exotic Rasul booked for one day for some "alone" time!

I love massages, so get one on board. I am doing "alone time" (one of the treatments for the spa villas) on the TA as we have a few sea days and it will be more relaxing (IMO). I am 50/50 on the rainforest room. I tried it back a few years ago. I do like the heated tile loungers, but the other steam rooms are ok, just not my cup of tea. I am more of an out and about doing activities on the ship girl.

She said she was able to work in a quick turnaround so lucky for us. Now we will just have to rely on the post office which is like the movie Funny Farm around here. Maybe she can get you a pillowcase in time with overnight shipping.

I booked a spa treatment in advance once and regretted it because it conflicted with activities that we wanted to do as a family. I have now decided that I will wait for daily specials or a random opening to get a treatment once I have the Navigator schedule.

FYI-I booked one of the wraps last time but had to switch to the massage because you can't get a wrap with a Thyroid condition. I was just glad they were thorough with their screening process. Just thought I would put that out there for any fellow sufferers.

I think we can reach 1000 posts TODAY! No prize unless someone has a suggestion, just the satisfaction and congratulations of the crowd!

I am looking forward to seeing the ship (never been on a cruise before) and the leaving the port thrill! I sat at St Marks Square in Venice and watched cruise ships go out of port with all the people waving to shore and thought it was so beautiful, hoping some day I could be one of those people on board! Now it my turn!

Less than 50 posts till 1000 :surfweb:

BTW! Someone out there on this cruise met my daughter last week at work. Who works for DVC that is on this boat? Come find me on the ship! :thumbsup2:
