We have 9:05 AM Spaceship Earth Fast Passes and 9:35 Akershus reservations. Is there enough time to ride SE and still get to Akershus on time?

I am using touring plans and I have it set on walking slowly and it say's it will take 30 min to walk from SE to Akershus and it's putting us there at 9:52. Does that sound accurate? It seems off to me.

1. Yes.
2. That is way off.
It would likely take about 7-12 minutes.

At 9:05 you probably won't even need a Spaceship Earth FP+ to walk on with no wait whatsoever. I wouldn't "wait" till 9:05 if you could do it at 8:50 or so via standby.

Yeah, I know. I also have a Mission Space fastness that day and there isn't much else that I think needs a fast pass. What other rides usually require a fast pass?

Agree with the yeses and remember you can get on 5 minutes early (although by the time you get to the scanner after rope drop it'll probably be 9:05 anyway. Not sure how any site can say that is a 30 minute walk. The only thing I can think of for that ridiculous walk time is if they meant to say it would be about 30 minutes from getting ON the ride to when you'd get to Akershus. That's probably about what I'd expect.

As for your question on FP - if you're interested in meeting the characters at character spot, that's the other option for a FP that can have longer lines. If you get to Earth and you can walk right on without a FP (you'll be able to tell when you get to the line) just don't scan in and change the FP to something else later. Of course, if you're going to want to try to get add'l FP during the day, you might just be better off burning them quickly so you can try to search for Soarin or TT as early as possible.

I’ll be honest, I about fell off my chair when I read a 30 minute walk from SSE to Akershus. :rotfl: They must have turtle speed plugged into whatever algorithm comes up with that calculation!

I agree with the others, I’d probably move my FP to something else later in the day if that’s of interest to you.

Unless it was around a major holiday I don't see a really big use for a 9:05 fastpass anywhere except maybe the highest demand rides (Frozen, 7 Dwarves, FOP). You'd probably be better off starting your FP at like 10 and hitting SSE on your way out of Epcot. Once you tap in, you can grab your fourth.

Because of how useless I usually find many of the 2nd tier FP choices at Epcot and the usual ease of getting them as 4th+ FP, Epoct is the one park where I will sometimes get the 9am FP to burn it and get to the add'l FP as early as possible so I can look for other Tier 1s there. I usually try to get a tier 1 for drop - do another tier one standby at drop, do my tier 1 FP, do the 2nd FP, try to move up the 3rd and then start with getting the 4th FP at Epcot or another park depending on my plans. I think I rode every single ride with a FP in Epcot last time I was there because it was so easy with refreshing to get pretty much any tier 2 ride fairly quickly. It may have only saved 10-15 minutes each time but after 5-6 rides that adds up. And, we did see the occasional TT, Soarin or FEA pop up as well so over the course of an afternoon/evening - we did every one of them (except Character Spot and Imagination which we intentionally skipped).

You usually have a little leeway as well to when you arrive at your ADR. Unless they are absurdly busy, they understand that it can take a few extra minutes due to wait times, slow walking, etc.

That's one of the major reasons I tend to do Epcot in the evenings. Soarin' and Test Track are fairly easy to get (for 2 anyway) as 4th FP or have an acceptable wait time. Then we can enjoy dinner and Illuminations somewhere around the lagoon.

Im not really saying to move it or cancel it, I just wouldn't be standing at the mickey readers at 8:50 waiting to use your FP+.

This is precisely what I am thinking. We have a 10 day trip coming up and plan to hit Epcot 3 of those days, mostly just to ensure getting on those tier one rides. I know Epcot doesn't really need 3 days but we prefer to only go to the parks for about 4-5 hours max and then take it easy the rest of the day.

Epcot is also open until 11pm that night and we want to drop our daughter off at one of the children activity centers and go back to Epcot in the evening. So we are hoping to use up the other fast passes early and score a tier one later. It's supposed to be a pretty low crowd day and I think everything will be easy to get on except the tier one rides.

Same here (either that or hit it right at rope drop - do a few rides quick - and walk to DHS where I have my FP, then back to Epcot later for dinner, Pavillions and Illuminstions.

Under normal circumstances, I think you'd be fine. However, Spaceship Earth tends to stop frequently, and it's already a long ride. If you experience a real technical delay, you'd be in trouble.

While it can be done, you're cutting it close, and I'd be too stressed about the ADR to really enjoy the ride. That's just me though!

Seems like a workable plan.

Touring Plans is way off - nothing is more than a mile away from anything in Epcot to take 30-minutes walking.

It's walkable in a short amount of time if you cut through the back way path by Test Track/restrooms/first aid. My concern like pp pointed out is the stops that SE has mid ride. We were stopped 3 times during the ride. The last time was for 20 minutes.

This.. IMHO your plan sounds very tight and not worth the risk, you are better off either riding SSE earlier via standby line or after your ADR that way you can actually enjoy the ride and not feel rushed or stressed in the event that there is a delay or malfunction of any sort.. As stated previously, the wait times at these times should be minimal, especially for FW attractions..
