8am Opening Update

Hey Everyone -

Our first day at DLR is on July 4th and I am wondering if they are opening at 8am exactly or before like they were with 9am openings. Any insights would be appreciated.

No one knows. We just got back from the parks and both days we went to DL and got in the park around 8:40 AM, they had already done rope drop. My guess is that they will probably start letting people in around 7:30 am. At least until they add magical mornings back in for hotel guests and people who buy multiple day passes.

I second this-- it seemed to get earlier by the day. I think they were adjusting operations toward the 8:00 AM opening as it approaches. On our last day we saw people already on Goofy's and Incredicoaster at 8:05 AM.

IF we are heading toward Extra Magic Hours for hotel guests this Summer, my guess is they will want to practice operations between 7:00 and 8:00 also. Big unknown though.

First day I would just grab and go breakfast, go early, eat in line, and just enjoy the excitement.

We got there just before 8:00 a.m. today and the lines were pretty short, so not sure when they started letting people in. I think we were through the gates by 8:10. Park seemed so empty! We headed straight to Indy and it was a walk on. Then we headed to HM and the area around us was wide open. Really nice morning!

Went through the Harbor entrance. There was basically no wait, just a couple people in each row when we walked up.

According to the Disneyland website, both parks opens at 8am, at least from today and onward.

I think what is being asked is while the open time is listed as 8am, what time are they actually letting people in the gates.

7:59 this morning.

We were there this Monday and left this morning. For the 9am openings, they were open before 8am in both parks every day that we saw. We did not see a RD, but we may have missed it getting there right at around 8am. For the 8am open yesterday, we got there at 7:30 and there were lines to get into DL but not at DCA (DCA was open and guests were all inside by then). The lines at DL moved slowly…so many people with issues and no reservations etc. Anyway, we didn’t get through the gates until nearly 8 due to all of that.
