How did you know we'd think it was you :rotfl2:

So here is what I booked:

Dinner at Le Cellier
Donald's Safari Breakfast
Late Lunch at Sci-Fi
Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

The only meal that we are 100% positive on going to is Donald's Breakfast. The rest we may go to, I figured it is better to make ADR's now while I can that way if we end up getting the meal plan later on we will have the ADR's in place.
You must keep LeCellier the steak is gorgeous and what are your Mum and Brother like :sad2: :rotfl2:

Don't even get me started on them, I was so angry at them after that. I told my mom that she had the maturity of an infant and that I hope she enjoyed the 3 long distance calls to Disney she will have on the phone bill.

:scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey T...if you go to DL this week be on the lookout for Buzz:sail:

Ooh, is he there this week? We'll probably go on Tuesday, TE's birthday is Tuesday and I'll stalk him then. I could pick those stretchy shorts out of a crowd any day of the week! :lmao:

::yes:: They got there yesterday. A possible meeting with the infamous Buzz, you lucky girl, you! ;)

Completely :offtopic:

Well, my boy's finally legit. He reached the 40 inch mark at Soarin' just barely on Friday. Oh and may I add those CROCs are regulation.
:thumbsup2

WOOO HOOO!!! WTG Evan! :thumbsup2
How's everyone's plans coming along?
Read on...

I'm getting the ADR itch because I've been reading all these TRs and all your guys' plans. :scratchin
I too am getting the itch....
Better get on it ladies - see below...

Warning - Rant ahead!

I have HAD it with the 180-day rule coupled with bouncebacks, Free Dining specualtion and maybe even the DDP! I called over the weekend to make some ADRs - a couple for May and one for August.

May:
Got Rose & Crown no problem. :thumbsup2

GF Tea? Nothing available for a party of 3. Okay, how about a party of one, as I may be on my own anyway... nope. But they had room for one party of two and one party of 5. Fine, I'll take the party of 2.

Cal. Grill for a party of one? Sure. But it requires a credit card guarantee.

WHAT???? Since when?!

Well V, people keep making ADRs and not showing up so now some restaurants require a cc guarantee if you're not on the DDP and you'll be charged $20 for a cancelation or a no-show.

 Way to support your FL visitor base Mickey.

Then I moved on to August...

I wanted one single ADR. At the Turf Club. You know, the Restaurant of Last Resort? The one folks book at the 2 weeks-out point in a panic?

Couldn't get a ressie near the time I wanted. Booked solid from 5:10pm - 6:30pm.

GGGGGRRRRRR!!!!! :headache:  :headache:

For the record, in no way is my angst directed at any of you good people. I know folks are just doing what they need to do to secure their dining, jsut like me. I'm mad at The stupid Mouse for putting us in this position in the first place. Mickey's actually getting less and less of my money becuase I don't bother with day visits much if I can't get in somewhere to eat. And I'm opting out of a lot of TS meals on longer trips becuase I just don't want to book ADRs 6 months out... especially for meals of sub-par quality and service.

So Mickey, if you're reading, SHAPE UP and come up with some new ideas!

Hey V-- I had to put a CC guarantee for Cali Grill and even Hollywood and Vine FDP.....and I was on DDP. :confused3
(it did make me super careful about canceling and they never charged my card)

V I so agree why on earth do they expect people to make their dining plans 6 months in advance, especially when they don't even release all their plans for P&PP etc  Why not make them bookable from about 1 or 2 months before

Oh no....How frustrating. Can you explain to me how they had a party of 2 available but no party of one. Wouldn't they just sit the party of one at a 2 person table anyway:confused3

This must be why I am hearing alot of people are doing mostly CS for their trips this year. Too frustrating trying to get decent dinner times. I know in our case if we try ot eat any later than 5:30 or so Jimmy would go berserk....

And yet you bought DVC ... Kidding. I know those things get frustrating. I remember worrying about CRT years ago knowing that it would be heck to get a ressie but since they changed it and got CC #s it is so much easier to get an ADR. I can't even imagine during free dining.

Oh, V, I'm sorry. That's the one thing people who ask me about the trip have the hardest time believing "You have to know where you want to eat NOW?"

I KNOW! I couldn't believe I could only get a ressie for 8:30 ish at The Turf Club.

I'm going to guess that things will change later this year when the first round of vacationers on the "new" DDP soon discover it ain't all it's stacked up to be. :rolleyes1

Oh no V!

Ok that does sound frustrating. They didn't have good times at the Turf Club?!

Ya know I keep wondering if Disney does these things on purpose to frustrate people or if they're actually booked.

I kept thinking that when all the resorts were booked in January (even the GF!!!). I doubt all of those Brazilian tour groups stayed onsite that weekend; the cheer squads yeah, but I'm sure they used up all the Values. But the GF, Poly and YC/BC were booked solid in January.

I'll only be there during the weekend and I'm looking at some of the less popular restaurants to check out, since I'm still new to all the TS eating.

My last few trips have mostly been CS dining due to knowing I wouldn't be able to get into places since I didn't book waaaay in advance and most of my trips have been short notice ones.

I agree that they need to make some changes to the way they're handling some of their dining options.

Aaarrrgghh, this is Number 2 on my list of WDW Grievances - inconsistent and/or inaccurate infromation given by CMs! The not-very-personable Cm I spoke with made it sound like only non-DDP folks had to leave a cc on file. :headache:
Why not make them bookable from about 1 or 2 months before
Back in the day, it was 60 days. Then it went to 90, but you really only had to call that far ahead for CRT and the like. I don't object to opening the window early, but leave some times unbooked for walk-ups! They don't even allow walk-ups at a lot of places anymore. So I'm thinking, if a party of 8 skips their CG ADR, WDW gets $20. If they'd allow walk-ups, they could seat me and make $80+ (I like wine!). It just doesn't make good business sense. :confused3
Can you explain to me how they had a party of 2 available but no party of one. Wouldn't they just sit the party of one at a 2 person table anyway:confused3
EXACTLY! :rotfl2: I really wanted to point that out to the CM, but she wasn't real happy with me as it was. :rolleyes2

ITA - that plus a recession.

I think they really are booked. Though I couldn't quite get what I wanted in May, there were openings... late Aug. was another story. And that's the bounce-back time from last summer.
