:lmao: OMG!
OK Fellow Travelers. Jim and I were figuring out finanaces this evening (yeah, a great way to end the new year:rolleyes: ) Anyway, with cast member discount, we could stay at POR for only $250 more than POP. Talk me into it. Is there enough there for Jimmy? At POP he was amazed at all the big icons and stuff. Do they have a food court?

TALK ME INTO IT!
Talk you into it? Mmmmm OKAY! :rotlf2:
All I can say is POP scares me - all that color and those skerry icon! Yickes! The rooms at POR might be better for you, since the bathroom is set up differently and more people can utilize the facilities at once. The pool area is better, the food court is big, but not POP big. Jo will be there. :teeth:
That didn't help, did it? :confused3
Sorry about the avatar, I'll change it tomorrow. ;) Gotta support the team today, though! Anyone watching the Rose Bowl Parade? My friend Dr. Belle is there, right in front of the HGTV camera! :thumbsup2
We'll be watching, CE! Rooting for Illinois, too! :cheer2:

The more I research the more confused I get:confused: The one thing I looked at was on the WDW site and according to them the only additional ammenities at Mods compared to values is the slide (which Jimmy may or may not use) and the fact that POR has a sit down restuarant.

The more we think about it andresearch I think we are leaning towards staying at POP and saving the $$ to use for WP passes or a couple of our meals!

You all will be the first know what I decide for sure...after Jim...maybe after him....but probably before him
:rolleyes1

That's OK, my DNeph - the ex-CM is a bail bondsman! :woohoo: Nice to have one of those in the family, eh? :lmao:
I think it would be a good idea to laminate his info for all of us....

You know just in case:rolleyes1

Mo -this one is just for you.

Ack! my sound doesn't work, I need to watch at work first thing tomorrow!

I think you should stay at Pop and put the 250 to use elsewhere. How much time are you in the room? Doesn't Pop have the great food court?

Somehow I didn't quote Mo but OMG your post was hilarious :rotfl2: And hey blaming the one with the British accent  JK :rotfl2:

Well you are the official wiener counter!;) LY/MI:hug:

Would that me me? :rotfl2: Well if your wee was a bit bent then yep it would be wonky wee :rotfl2:
:lmao:

OK, I love ya T:hug: , but... Janet you can't listen to her when it comes to moderates and values. T may be more of a resort snob than I am.;)

I will however say that T has a good point about the bathrooms:idea: . Does Pop not have the seperate sink area?

This is what we are leaning towards. We did like the POP food court last year. Lot's of choices. I didn't feel like Jimmy was eating PB & J all the time, although he would if I let him!

Oh the peer pressure. I can't take it:rolleyes:

I will however say that T has a good point about the bathrooms:idea: . Does Pop not have the seperate sink area?

The sink is seprate from the rest of the bathroom, but there is no privacy curtain like in the mods. I am thinking I can solve that problem with a tension rod and a shower curtain from the dollar store:idea:

So what have I been doing all day, yeah I know you find yourselves asking this a lot. I have been re-doing my plan (again, I think this is #4). I am tweaking it now, because I was thinking that since this is Kelly's 1st trip and it will be very hot, I am worried about her overdoing it or getting over stimulated.

Thursday 8/21 - arrive late morning, check into GF and head over to MK, probably crowded, but how cannot I not start there with Kelly, do a CS lunch and soak in the atmosphere. Dinner at 1900 Park Faire, swim and/or watch Fireworks from GF beach

Friday - WP with Fockers, dinner at Plaza and Wishes

Saturday - AK and Tusker House lunch, dinner with Fockers

Sunday - LOEMH, hit a couple of other rides at MK and have a late CP breakfast, switch resorts to BCV and spend afternoon at SAB. Dinner will now be at Prime Time, I think HDDR might be too much. This way we can take the boat from the BC to DS.

Monday - Epcot, Garden Grill lunch, afternoon break at SAB, CS dinner and Illuminations

Tuesday - (if P&PP), sleep in, swim at SAB, lunch at beaches and Cream, late afternoon appointment at MK BBB, dinner at CRT, followed by P&PP

Wednesday - sleep in after P&PP, maybe swim, lunch and shopping at DTD and EMH evening at AK, thinking of dinner at Rainforest at AK.

Thursday - DS and H&V fantasmic dinner package (afternoon break at SAB) (not sure about lunch yet, some CS)

Friday - Cape May breakfast, hit the favorites at Epcot and afternoon departure for airport:sad1:

Most breakfasts will be either at the concierge lounge at GF or in the room at BCV (will be arranging a GG delivery beforehand)

You think this would be good with an 8 yo and it being her 1st time?

This is our last day so we will be at MK all day. Trying to decide on an ADR for this day. Have heard horid things about Tony's, so I am thinking we may do CS all day.

Friday - Cape May breakfast, hit the favorites at Epcot and afternoon departure for airport:sad1:

We will be flying home this day, but I am hoping to get a latish flight home and maybe go to DTD to soak up the last of the Disney Magic that we can.

What do you mean you might not make it:sad2:

I'm working on it! The real kicker in my head right now is that my cousin is getting married in Missouri August 2nd. I am sure we'll stretch that trip to include at least one of the other sets of grandparents (my parents will be with us at the wedding.) So, it would be two trips in that month, which might not be easy for D to take the time to do, if you KWIM. And even if just I came to WDW, he'd have to take vacation time to be sure to be home for the kids. And, though I think WDW would be more fun than the wedding, it wouldn't be good to skip it. :rotfl: Still, he HAD to take this past week off or lose time for this year, so maybe he'll have more than enough time. :confused3

We'll be watching, CE! Rooting for Illinois, too! :cheer2:

I already said thanks on TFW, but I'll say it here, too. We need all the mojo we can get. :rotfl2:

You all will be the first know what I decide for sure...after Jim...maybe after him....but probably before him:rolleyes1

Don't go to Tony's. It wasn't even that it was that horrible, it's just SO not special. I love Italian - even fake stuff that I make myself ;) - and the food was very blah.

You think this would be good with an 8 yo and it being her 1st time?
Looks good Mo, you really will need to take the lead from your DN though, Ellie was 7 & 9 and Jess 9 & 11 on the trips we took and they lasted really well, no need for a stroller either :thumbsup2 Oh one very important thing is if she says she needs to use the bathroom find one, we had a bad experience  They also really loved their pool time, Ellie was 9 when we went to HDDR and absolutely loved it if that helps at all!

Still, he HAD to take this past week off or lose time for this year, so maybe he'll have more than enough time. :confused3
Oooooh hope he HAS to take some extra vacation time in August :rotfl2:

I am thinking the Plaza Restaurant for an early lunch on that day and then snacking through the rest of the day. If we do like we did last year we will get there around 10:30/11:00am and just spend the rest of the day making it to Spectro and Wishes:thumbsup2

Just realised I meant to tell you all that it was a good job I (with DM's) help made the girls those invitations as I never heard anything from the DISer on the DISigns board!!!!

:scared1: How rude. It was a good thing you followed your instinct on that one and had a back up plan
. :thumbsup2

Us too, what time are you going to make your ADR for

I am thinking 10, that gives time to hit some rides when the rest of he park opens:thumbsup2

If this time works for you, why don't we do one ADR so we can sit together?

Will also relax at hotel if this is P & P. Dinner at LTT before P & P Party

I would rather LTT, but Kelly would prefer the castle.

Anyone remember when the castle restaurant was King Stefan's . OMG the food was so good then!

[This is our last day so we will be at MK all day. Trying to decide on an ADR for this day. Have heard horid things about Tony's, so I am thinking we may do CS all day.

THere have been some bad reviews about Tony's:scared:

Tuesday - MK, CP breakfast and O'hana dinner

THursday AK, Boma dinner and Cirque show
Friday Epcot and flying home in the afternoon have a Coral Reef ADR for lunch, not sure if we are going to keep it

I'm working on it!

That's some good advice Jo, I will keep that in mind, THANKS!

Plaza is good for sandwiches and yummy milkshakes! I like the reuban there:thumbsup2

Sounds good to me. Jimmy would love it. I think I can make my ADR's a couple of days before you so I can make it if you want.

Hey T, car to join us:goodvibes

We did the castle last year. Liked it, no need to go back any time soon

Anyone remember when the castle restaurant was King Stefan's . OMG the food was so good then!

I do, I do:banana:

Plaza is good for sandwiches and yummy milkshakes! I like the reuban there:thumbsup2

When I was looking at the menu the rueben is what caught my eye, plaus they have something Jimmy would eat. I have it on my list now. Going to try for 11:00ish, get one of the first seatings of the day

That's a great idea, Janet. But seriously - I think the mods are a total rip off. The only difference is the fridge, a pool slide and the bathroom curtain. Save the money and use it for WP tix or P&PP tix. ;)

Are you getting her a stroller? I think the only thing that kept Maddie going was the fact she wasn't walking in all that heat. The heat sure does take a toll on the little ones.

Us, too Janet. :teeth:

I redid my schedule and changed CP to breakfast that day - I may crash your breakfast party. :lmao:

Monday - Epcot, Garden Grill lunch, afternoon break at SAB, CS dinner and Illuminations

Break day for us. Late breakfast at Kona. Resort hop maybe
I'll be at Epcot too Mo. Breakfast at Akershaus.

We fly out this day. Breakfast at CM - then maybe a quickie at MK.
Friday - Cape May breakfast, hit the favorites at Epcot and afternoon departure for airport:sad1:

I have to second that - ask her frequently - and bring a change of clothes, just in case. ;)

OK, you are in charge then!

ETA: looks like a party of 10 since T is crashing;)

:lmao:

She'll be 8, would she fit in one. I think I remember that either with DVC or Disney Visa, there is a discount on stroller rental. Maybe get one just for miscellaneous stuff.
