Is anybody else having issues getting through? I have been trying to call this morning and consistently get a busy signal.

I was able to get in on the 407 number - just not the 800 line. It is okay....I just initially forgot about the 407 number.

I was able to get through on the 800 number but was on hold for 18 minutes and then found out my wait list has not come through yet for March. (:

I received several busy signals yesterday afternoon too.

Bookings have opened up for early Dec which may be the most popular time for DVC.

I called this morning and the 800 number was busy but the 407 one I got through. I was on hold but eventually I was able to set up everything!

I'm on hold right now waiting to check my wait list for March!

What's up with Member Services being so busy? :confused3

I am having some serious issues with a reservation and point allocation. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that with the new system, they are having a lot of issues. (go figure, it's Disney)

The biggest issues they are having is point allocations, the data saving and the speed of the system. Most of the MS Reps are either needing to make a call to IT or a supervisor to resolve their issues. That is what the hold-up is.

The issue for point allocation is mostly for transferred points. They are having a difficult time getting the system to see and allocate the points to the reservation.

I was told that IT generally takes a day or two to resolve issues, but right now it is taking about 2 weeks due to the problems with the new system.

I don't really know the full details - just sharing what I was told.

I called yesterday to book my dec 4th vacation and sat on hold for like 20 minutes. Of course, the room was available for everyday but the first day of our vacation... I had to go ahead and book a lake view and was told to call back today to see if I could get the room I wanted for the rest of the days. I called at 9:00 this morning and sat on hold again for about 20 minutes, and was told that now, the first 3 days of my vacation the room was not available and to call back on the 7th to see if the last 2 days were available. I don't know how in the world you are ever supposed to get a reservation if you can't reserve unless the first day of your vacation is available???

I had this problem almost the entire morning yesterday. I finally go through after 1 pm

Think about it. 11 months from now is Dec 4, 5, and 6. Hot, hot time for members.

Are you looking to book a standard view at BLT? If you are, it seems that people have booked it ahead of you, with the 7 days booking ahead spread. If I were you, I would take the whole vacation at lake view, if available and waitlist for standard view. If people are "walking" the reservation until Christmas or NYE, you may get what you want via a waitlist.

I probably sound stupid, but I am new to this whole thing... I was trying to get a theme park view for the 4th thru the 9th but when I called on the 4th I was told it was not available on the 4th, but the 5th - 9th were, however, since the 5th was outside of my 11 month window I would have to call back on the 5th and try to get it then. I called this morning and was told that the 5th and 6th were no longer available and I would have to call back on the 7th to see if I could get it then. I went ahaed and did the whole vacation at the lake view. What is the 7 days booking ahead thing? I also called on the 30th to make a one night reservation (we are going on a cruise the 1st - 4th), and was told I would have to call back on the 4th to make the remainder of my reservation. What do you mean by "walking" the reservation?

Other members may have called the day before you starting their reservation on Dec 3 and booked up all the available inventory.

That's the problem with being allowed to book seven days forward instead of seven days backward. In the old days, members booked day by day to get their single night. Then added the next night with a call the next day.

Walking a reservation is starting your reservation seven days before your actual start date. So if you want Dec 7 through Dec 14, you start booking Nov 30. Then you call and drop the first day and add the last day. You keep doing this until you get all your days.

I had problems with the 800 number yesterday as well. I think that since we are now inside the holiday season for this year as well as the big publicity push for the Disney Dream yesterday - alot of people are calling to make reservations.

Good luck getting through...just keep trying.

Thanks for the explanation! :thumbsup2

No, you don't sound stupid...you're doing what you should do to get your reservation, but it seems that people with an earlier start date have been booking through the time you really wanted in the theme park view.

If the people are "walking" the reservation through, say Christmas/New Years you may be lucky in getting what you want as they cancel the beginning of the reservation to add on to the ending. If the people were not walking and are just booking ahead of you through the seven days and you will have to rely on the waitlist. I would definitely call every day for a week or so to see if what you want comes free.

sooo busy today!! but when I got throught the MS people were very patient and helped a lot. It's easier to deal with busy lines and long waits if I'm going to get great service :thumbsup2
