I have been reading the other threads that have been started but neither of my girls fit into those age ranges:goodvibes Any ideas for 8 year old dd and 13 year old dd? I am at a loss for both of them...lol!

All I have is an 11-1/2 year old, but here is what she is getting - maybe it will spark at least an idea?

Cell phone - finally she won't be the "ONLY kid in 6th grade without one!" That battle cry never swayed me, though, she's only getting one because there is an actual need for it now. And she's only getting a prepaid with a certain number of minutes for the whole year - if she goes through them in less than 12 months, then she gets to pay for the reload!

Foot Spa and a Mani/Pedi gift basket that includes all sorts of nailpolish, foot lotions, nail files, etc.

Sound machine (one of those machines that make rainforest sounds, etc. for sleeping)

Paints, canvas, brushes, brush cleaner - she's an artist, took 2nd place in the CA State Fair for her age group this year with her first oil painting ever :yay: Christmas is a great time to stock her up on supplies.

New robe and slippers

Curling iron

Subscription to Teen Vogue (from mycokerewards - I like free! :rotfl:)

Rip stick

Lots of jewelry - costume rings, bracelets, a few necklaces. I've been picking it up at different clearance sales throughout the year. It will probably all go into her stocking, but might make it into a few boxes under the tree

A new tote bag filled with travel-related supplies for our trip to China next summer (Panda Pee Wee pillow pet, guide book on Beijing, passport cover, custom luggage tags I made on Artscow.com, travel journal and pen, sketch pad)

Other things i know she also wants are a pair of Toms and a lighted makeup mirror, but I am leaving those for family to get her if they want.

For my WILL be 8 year old :
* i-Pod Touch & itunes giftcard,
* Monster High doll a boy one :confused3 she loves Monster High has all the girl dolls and said she needs the boy one I forgot the name.
* Razor Scooter (a regular kick one)
* A Monster High purse/tote
* Art/Craft kit from Michaels
* "Cool" Street schools shes in uniforms all week, she likes cute shoes for the weekend
* Bean Bag
* Some of those Xai Xai things
* Heart to Heart Doll

everything else will be knickknacks she LOVES knickknacks

My dd is turning 13 in about 6 weeks. I'm going to get her some tickets to the theater. We live in a large metropolitan town, so we have many great shows coming up this season. I'm not sure what else to get her. That's a hard age to buy for.

:) I have a 17 yr old niece and a 13 year old niece. They know me for giving them Vera Bradley. This year they are getting Frill Cross body bags and an accessory to match. VB is always a big hit for the girls in Southern Mississippi. She has very good sales on line.

My 13 year old is asking for a laptop but she isn't getting one. So she is either going to ask for a nook color or an upgraded Ipod Touch, jury is still out.

What she definitely is getting (from Santa since our youngest still believes)
make-up and nail polish
hoodie buddy
Art set and sketch pad (she loves to draw)
purple purse
purple/grey plaid wool jacket
SIM something game for PC
Just Dance 3 for Kinect (family gift but geared toward her)
Twilight Eclipse collector's edition DVD (comes with pics of cast)

Stocking stuffers- glass angel wings earrings and necklace, candy, Itunes card, funky mismatched socks, and stretchy gloves.

She is getting a (very very small) diamond key pendant from dh and me. She has been wanting one for a long time and Amazon was having a huge sale on their Sterling jewelry and she picked it out. It was marked down to $8 from $50 and then there was an extra 30% off of that. I don't expect it to be amazing but I know she'll really like it.

What kind of gift? Christmas? My DD loved Littlest Pet Shops when she was 8. Zoobles are in the same category. 8 is also a really great age for an American Girl Doll. I think a Just Dance Wii game would be fun for that age too.

My 12-year old wants a new pair of Uggs. I'm still looking for a good deal. I missed out on a 25% off coupon at City Sports a couple weeks ago and I am STILL kicking myself. She also really loved her Converse xx hi tops (up to her knees!) last year when she was 11. Another popular tween/teen present is a North Face Denali jacket. Look for children's sizes in the Uggs and the Northface if your older DD is on the smaller side. Childrens shoe sizes are about 2 sizes smaller than adult sizes (a Child 4 = Adult 6) and the a North Face Child L = kids 14-16 = Adult XS, XL = kids 18-20 = Adult S. My DD also likes trendy teen clothes like Amercrombie, Aeropostale & American Eagle. A gift card to one of those places would be an option too.

This is what dd (14) is asking for. I had never even heard of it before! I'll need to do a little more research but I'm pretty sure it will be her big gift.

I looked at that for my dd, don't buy it here. Amazon has it for much cheaper

ETA I'm looking at something different, sorry. I'm looking at the Capture so never mind the Amazon link.

Sorry, I was referring to Christmas gifts...but really any gift ideas would be appreciated :goodvibes

My daughter wanted a graphics tablet she could draw on. We bought the XP-Pen Innovator 16 ( xp-pen.com/product/638.html ) Pen Display monitor 16" . I think this should make a good gift for her graphics creativity.

We did something similar for our 13 year old, and bought her a drawing tablet for her birthday back in April

For the prior year she wanted and got an Arduino system... she's big into robotics though.

Year before that were tickets to her favorite band's concert Imagine Dragons.

The first two werent very expensive but her 13th was... and only worked out because it was on sale, and she was suffering some serious COVID blues having to celebrate her birthday locked up like we were at the time.

A complete surprise day one on one, I know its hard during the pandemic.. but wake her up spend ridiculous money on Starbucks breakfast, sit at the park and eat. If possible get your toes done.. normally I would say go shopping but thats hard now days. Kids love getting you to themselves doing grownup things together.
When I was a teacher my kids always loved the days there moms did stuff like that.
