Ok was just checking out the EMH and seeing what is going on the week we are planning. And MK and DS are both closing at 8pm. What in the world is up with that. Now I know the evening EMH will be packed.

When we were there last September, they closed at 8:00 too. I guess it's just because it's off-season.

Yes, for some reason the parks close very early after the summer if over. I remember way back when....the MK & Epcot were open until 11 PM or Midnight even.
I can't see myself spending all the money i saved to have the parks close so early. I understand that those times may be less crowded, but people would still enjoy the later hours.
I always thought that if there were limited hours during those time frames, they should sell discounted tickets. But the tickets happen to be the same prices all year round. Go figure.

Traditionally 8pm is the closing time for MK in September. The crowds are light you will see as much in that time frame with the lower crowds as you would be able to do with longer hours and heavier crowds.

Well as you can see we go quite often. But I dont ever remember them closing at 8. Yes 9 pm but not 8 :(. Guess will be heading from MK over to Epcot.

Also anyone know if they have added any sit down food services for EMH?

We've been the past 2 septemebers (and january) when the parks have closed this early.

it's very true...you can do EVERYTHING in the parks before closing...so you're really not "losing" anything.

at least MK's not closed at 6pm. I've gone at times where MK closed at 6pm. Now that sucks.

Even if you can see everything within that time frame, it would still be nice to have the long hours.
I know that I wait all year long to get to WDW. The longer time spent in the parks, the better.

I actually like having the closing earlier. That way, we get to see Wishes or whatever and then get back to our room for a decent bedtime (kids' bedtime). I like getting to the park early, so that makes a long enough day for me. I'm not really a morning person, either - except at WDW. :confused3

I've been in Nov, May, Jan, and April and MK closed pretty consistantly by 8:00PM each of those times of the year. Usually it was closed by 6 or 7, weekends and some spectro nights it closed at 9 or 10. I've never felt like I didn't get my monies worth. I'll trade shorter hours for lower temps and less crowds anyday

That's one of the 'perks' of enduring the crowds/heat/humidity of summer..those late park hours. I've been in late Oct and early Nov and both times the parks have closed at 8 pm. But since I don't have to go back to my resort to cool off for a few hours mid-day, it doesn't bother me. In fact, like a previous poster said..it's nice to get to bed at a decent hour. Sometimes we just head out to DTD for a night. But I have to say that I always come home much more rested in the fall than in the summer!!!

Even if you wait until the last week of August into Sept the hours have traditionally been shorter. I'm assuming that is still the case.

The parks closing early does not bother us because we are always able to ride everything we want during the day. The parks are so much less crowded than during the summer. We then make APR's outside the parks for later in the evening. Epcot is still open till 9:00 every night.

I made ADR for Ohana's at 7:40 last week based on MK closing at 8pm (though its their evening EMH day) looked at their hours today and now its changed to closing at 9pm. Works better for me. By the time non-resort guests are heading out we will be finishing up dinner and thinking about going back if crowds aren't outrageous. Actually who am I kidding we'll go back. I love riding the Mountains when its dark out.

Anyone else miss E-ride nights? I know they cost money but there was never a wait for anything. I wished they'd bring them back.

We have been for the last 5 years to Disney in September. We also stay for two weeks outta the month starting the week after labor day. That being said we have NEVER waited in line for more than 15 min at any time of the day. And no its not because we used fast pass or didn't ride, it is because the crowds are pretty non existant. Evryone is worried about the free dining affecting crowds but Disney offers specials this time of year every year as school has just started and it is hurricane season. We actually never spend more than a few hours in a park because we can accomplish everything we want to do and more and still have time to stop and smell the roses and eat our way around the world. Don't worry about closing early. You will have planty of time.

September 2000 MK closed at 7 pm! The crowds were really non-existent and we saw/rode everything we wanted to....multiple times....so leaving early wasn't a problem. It gave us time every night to go somewhere else (DTD, Epcot) and enjoy a little change of pace.

Enjoy!

Ditto with what eveyone has said about the parks closing early in off seasons. For us it's never been a problem as it was never crowded during the day. But, everyone then heads to Marketplace/DTD, so it's really crowded at nights. We've never been bothered by the hours, that's how it's always been for us because we've only gone in Sept/Oct.

Ok so when is Cast Member night at PI? Since they close so early we might just hit that up.
