8 Nites Of Practically Perfect Pop!!! NEW PICTURES, PAGE 13!!!

Donna, we will be at Pop for a week in August. The excitement in your reporting was contagious. I can't wait to get there even more now. Just wondering though, when did you tell the hotel staff about your belated anniversary? We are celebrating my anniversary and dd's 5th b'day the day we arrive. Last year, CBR sent a similar set up to our room. However, we had been there 4 days already. I may call POP a few days before we arrive so that there is something there for her when we arrive. Thanks again for sharing your enthusiasm for "Everything Pop."

Thanks so much for the wonderful trip report! It was almost like being there!

We are also big POP lovers--we stayed there twice already and we are returning in 25 days!! :cool1: :cool1: Can you tell we are excited? Reading your report just reconfirmed all the things I loved about Pop. I have also read some negatives about the resort but I can honestly say I didn't experience anything negative. Now I'll just start packing and wishing away the next 25 days!! :teeth:

Have a great vacation! I have to say we didn't experience anything really negative at POP, either....and hope your third time there is just as much a "charm"!!!

Hi! I went to the front desk of the resort on Monday, I think (we had checked in on Saturday). I asked if they could have balloons sent to the room, and told them I would pay $$ for it, but she said, oh, no, it would be a "gift" from POP! And, the "gift" appeared in our room, like Disney magic!, on Wednesday!!! Have a GREAT trip!!!! :cool1:

First of all, I loved the trip report! It gave ME a big Disney smile, and I'm not going there 'til September! :goodvibes

Your report made me so thankful I picked Pop Century instead of the other values... I didn't realize how centrally located it is, which is even more of a bonus for me!

I think I recall you saying you asked for a king bed - did you ask for that on your reservations, or did you ask for that at the desk?

 Thank you for the nice compliment on the trip report!

I really, really liked that POP was so centrally located, too, and didn't even really realize it until we were there, and saw how quickly we were zoomed off to the parks from there!! :cool1:

Yes, we did ask for a king sized bed, and I had mentioned it when I initially booked the room (also mentioning we were celebrating a belated anniversary, and there was just the two of us!) and also asked again at the desk at check-in. However, we did not get one...we did get my other requests, but not the king sized bed. I did go in realizing it was only a request, so wasn't too upset about it, and on the plus side, having the extra bed in the room gave us a nice spot to use as an extra "shelf" for putting packages and things!! :thumbsup2

Have a GREAT vacation, and I hope you enjoy POP as much as we did!

What a great TR! :thumbsup2

I just want to say how much I enjoyed your enthusiasm about Disney. I  your attitude!

Thank you for sharing your Practically Perfect trip with us and your pictures. I love the one with you and your DH holding Tink! :goodvibes

 Awww..thank you for your nice comments, how sweet! <that Tinkerbell pic is one of our favorites, too!> :cool1:

Just found this report and now I am bursting at the seems to get to POP on Monday. Thanks for such a detailed report with pictures. I hope we love it as much as you did.

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful trip report. I loved all the pictues, especially the tink one. I am going in Nov with my son who will turn five and niece who's almost 5, and I can't wait. We are staying at All Star Movies, but after your TR, think the next trip should be at Pop. I love all the Icons there, but we thought the kids would love the movies themes.

I love hearing about your big disney smiles and tears. I get filled up so many times reading these boards, I can't imagine what I'll be like when I finally see my little boy see the world. I've been planning to take him for his 5th birthday since before he was born. I think I'll add a few boxes of tissues to my packing list.

Hope you enjoyed the beach as much as Disney world.

Part two...the first *full* day, Sunday, April 30th

(he sends out a wave to the mug-men of the world! )

Your description is perfect. It is the poor DH's out there that end up doing the trek to the refillable station in the am. I invision it to be much like the poor men that stand outside bathrooms and dressing rooms holding purses that are oh so definitely not their own. They see each other and give that "oh you too Dude?" nod and then quickly turn away so they can keep up the masculine facade.

Hi - I loved your trip report. Just finished reading it today. I am more excited than ever for our trip in September (just my husband and myself). We are also staying at Pop.

My question is, you mentioned a beautiful Rose Garden at the Magic Kingdom. Where in the Magic Kingdom is it? I love to take pictures of flowers.

Again, thanks for the entertaining and informative trip report.

 I think the kids will LOVE All Star Movies!!! We've stayed there before, and they have some really cool themes on the buildings!!!

Cherish the moments with your son  ...those will be the special times! And, yep, I think you're gonna need a few more boxes of tisssues!!! Have a WONDERFUL trip!!!! <I didn't quite like the beach as much as I liked Disney World...Mark liked it a lot more than I did--I honestly prefer the smaller bodies of water....lakes, bays, even swimming pools :rotfl2: ...the ocean is just a tad *too* powerful for my liking!>

Actually, someone else on the DIS boards first came up with that "mug men of the world"...but I think it's quite appropriate!!! And, yep it's *just* like the purses thing, isn't it??? :rotfl2:

Thx for reading the trip report! :cool1:

 Thanks for the nice comments on the trip report.

The Rose Garden at the Magic Kingdom is surrounding the castle walkway, as you walk *away* from the castle towards Tomorrowland. I hope that makes sense...at least, that's where I *remember* it being! I know I had never seen it before, and it really is very beautiful.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL vacation!!! :goodvibes

I just started reading your trip report and we are also driving down from Chicago with AAA Trip-tik.

My wife and I are trying to figure out the driving; she doesn't drive at night, won't drive in FL, and one of her coworkers has told her horror stories about driving in the mountains, which leaves something like 70% of the driving to me (at night no less).

What are the routes through the mountains like? Stories we are being told indicate the roads are narrow?

Any suggestions/hints on places to stop or avoid along the way?

 The drive can be long, but there are also places where it is beautiful...like in those mountains you're nervous about. :) I don't know if you are planning to drive straight thru, but if not, we really liked stopping in Dalton, Georgia. The Country Inn & Suites there is just gorgeous, lots of scenery around it. Plus, shortly before you would get to Dalton on the way down is a really scenic rest-area (who knew a rest area could be so pretty?? :rotfl2: that is on the Tennessee River). The part of the drive that is thru the mountains is not really that long, though, and it is very beautiful. My major concern with the hills/mountains, etc. were the trucks that were driving there...they have these "run-away truck ramps"...thankfully, I never saw anyone using them, but they kind of scared me a tad! And, as far as driving in Florida...I thought it was much more pleasant than driving in Illinois!!! Hope you guys have a great trip, and a safe drive!!! :thumbsup2

I just got done reading your trip report. I've had it in my subscriptions for awhile now and finally got around to reading it all. I have tons that I need to go too. Haha. Awesome. Sounds like you two had a lot of fun. I was thinking about Pop Century before, but wasn't sure. Now, it sounds like a really good idea. I just might have to think about it some more. :) Glad you had an awesome trip. Sounds awesome! I hope I have as awesome of a trip as you two seemed to have! Thanks for sharing!
