8 Nights With Deluxe Dining ~ Picture Heavy Pre Trip Report!

I did check them out! So cute. Looks like she got more pics this time around.

Sueellen, I don't know if I had it started before you left, but I did start my trip report and the link is in my signature! CP was our last day though, so it will be awhile til lI get those pics up. LOL! Yours are so great though. During the parade, Piglet was near us the second time, and I told Claire to march with him, but she snubbed him. LOL! She waited till Tigger came by. She wanted to march behind Tigger. I didn't "get it" till DH explained to me why she wasn't going behind Piglet. :confused3:rolleyes1

Hello all! I will start the trip report tonight. Let me just say it was a wild and crazy trip!

DH was so sick they wanted to hospitalize him. That threw a kink in the works!

:) We will had fun though!

Day 2 ~ Part 1

We got everyone up and ready without incident and over to 1900 Park Fare before our reservation even. I was WAY excited about this meal because my mom had never been to the GF and I thought it was right up her alley! Well I was right. She thought it was just beautiful!

They happened to be out changing the fresh flowers and Mimi and I wandered over to peek at the flowers and she wanted to smell a rose. They told her that she could take it and she took one for her sister too. So nice. We didn’t wait long to be seated at all ~ maybe 5 mins. We enjoyed a lot of bacon and Mickey waffles!

We saw a bunch of characters and Z was afraid again sigh I will have to load my pictures but my cam battery needs to be charged. So anyway ~ once we finished breakfast we grabbed a bus over to DHS (on the way down to the bus DD4 fell and skun her knee ~ poor pumpkin).

DH was feeling kind of crappy. We got to DHS and headed to the TOT because DD wanted to ride. The wait was 70 minutes and the FP were for way late in the day. So we decided to come back another time. Mom took the girls over to play at the HISTK playground while DH and I were going to hop in the single rider line for RnR ~ the regular line had a 150 minute wait. We headed down and jumped in the line and then some CM came over and told us SR Line was closed to try back later. Great…. Okay we headed out to find mom and had a hard time reaching her on her cell. Finally got her and she was at HISTK Playground ~ when we found her Mimi was running around and mom was sitting on a “rock” holding Z ~ sound asleep (Z not mom). We decided to head over to Muppetvision 3D and it said 20 minute wait but we pretty much went right in. Mimi is just starting to get the 3D thing so it was WAY cool to watch her trying to catch stuff. Z (awake by now) saw the monster and got scared (this becomes a pattern) and tucked her head in and went back to sleep. A defense mechanism I think.

Wow, I was wondering what happened to you. Hope all is going OK for you guys.
I can't beleive the wait times you had. At HS we had alot of walk ons. or very minimal waits. I would go nuts with wits that long. LOL!
Keep us updated, and can't wait to see your pics!

Day 2 Part 2

Okay after we saw Muppetvision we booted over to see Beauty and the Beast. We had about 10 minutes to get there and we did make it. Phew! But we had to stand in the back. It was really hard because right in front of us was like 5 EMPTY handicapped benches and they had closed the theater so no one else could come in ~ but they still wouldn’t let us sit there. Mimi kept asking to sit. Anyway ~ they both LOVED the show. They were both singing and dancing along with it. I got separated from mom and DH somehow but we all met up at the stroller. DH was feeling really crappy (and honestly acting really crappy) so I said he should go back to the hotel and sleep. This was about 12:30 or so.

We had lunch ADR at 2:30 at Sci Fi and Mimi was saying she was hungry ~ so we stopped at Starring Rolls and got a huge cupcake for the girls to share and a bottle of water. Well let the first meltdown begin. I have never seen my child act like this EVER. She didn’t want to share the cupcake with sissy and pitched a huge fit, yelling, scratching me and then just sat down next to the table and cried.I realized she was WAY overtired so we put her in the stroller and walked. We found a place with some shade and benches over by SciFi to sit and wait and mom “rocked” Mimi to sleep. Of course it was a smoking area… why is it that all the nice shady benched areas are smoking areas? Anyway we still sat and Mimi slept until we went in for lunch at 2:30. Z sat in the stroller people watching and playing with my moms hat and sunglasses. It was actually very nice to just sit and chat with mom in such a nice atmosphere.

Lunch! Yum! Loved the SciFi. I was the only one who had ever been so it was a great surprise to the girls and mom. They all three LOVED it. Mimi was so excited that she could watch cartoons AND be the driver. I ordered them both a cookie shake and they loved it! So much so that now when you ask Mimi what she wants to drink she will consistently answer “A cookie shake” LOL! I got the Artichoke dip and mom got the mixed green for apps. We all shared and Mimi ate most of moms salad. The girls both had burgers with salad and fruit and I had the ribs. Funny I don’t remember what mom had. The girls and mom had sundaes for dessert and I had cheesecake (a candied type cheesecake ~ it was yummy~)

By now it was pretty late and we headed back to the hotel to check on hubby and do some swimming. DH was in bed and had been sleeping since he left us. I begged him to call the front desk and find out if there was a doctor he could talk to. He promised me he would and we headed out to the pool. While we were there I saw DH coming towards the pool and he told me he talked to the doctor and he wanted to see him, they were sending someone over to pick him up and that the wait would be at least FIVE hours. I decided to stay with mom and the girls b/c I thought it would be too hard for her to handle them alone that long. We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and having fun with the kids.

Thanks for reading Jen! We loved Sci Fi. I was so bummed DH didn't get to go because it was at his request that it got an ADR. So maybe we will have to put it back on for Sept.

Day 2 Part 3

Okay ~ so after swimming we got ready and headed over to Garden Grill for dinner (still less DH). We checked in right on time and they said there would be a short wait and gave us a pager. There is actually a KidCot thing there so the girls went over and colored for a little while. It was getting busy so I had to drag them away so other kids could color. I entertained them (and some others) by convincing them if they knocked three times just right on the pager. They tried that for a while and then I told her to check with the man on the bench next to her and find out what time his ADR was for and if it was earlier than ours see if he would switch pagers. It was an older couple and they thought Mimi and ZZ were just so funny. Turned out their ADR was after ours and then like 5 secs later our thing started buzzing.

We were sat on the second level and had the same server we had when there in May. Too funny. He wasn’t great then or now. I checked my mom’s phone to see if DH had called and found I had a message from him. He was on his way back from the clinic (less than two hours after leaving the hotel) and he had a respiratory flu and pneumonia. He had been frantically trying to reach me b/c the clinic couldn’t get our insurance to go through and the meds were going to be 1,000$ ~ not sure what he thought I could do if they couldn’t process the insurance. Anywho ~ we finished our dinner before meeting him back at the hotel. Z started to warm to the characters ~ but we had a character guide standing on the stairs behind our table informing the characters not to touch Z. I think that really helped since they weren’t coming up behind her or anything. She finally allowed some near her.

So back to the hotel ~ by now it is about 9:00 and I need to find a way to get DH his scripts filled. I called the front desk and they gave me a number to call that would deliver to the hotel. Well I called and the guy said that they don’t bill insurance and we would have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed and that it would be “very” expensive.

So I called around until I found a 24 hour Walgreens ~ BUT it was in Orlando and we had no car. We called a taxi and DH came with me for two reasons:

1. I didn’t want to be alone with the taxi driver in an unfamiliar place
2. I wanted him to take the meds right away.

So it was about 30 mins away and when we told the taxi we wouldn’t have him wait (because hey who knows how long it can be) he said he would wait for 30 minutes at no charge. We got the scripts filled within 15 minutes and had NO COPAY. So the cab ride was 65$ but that was way better than 1,000. So we finally got home at about 11:00 and hit the hay. Goodnight to a LONG hard day!

Wow! What a day. Poor DH. how did he get that? Was it coming on before he left?

Wow! What a day. Poor DH. how did he get that? Was it coming on before he left?

Yeah... he had a cold before we left. I BEGGED him to get some rest the week before so he wouldn't be sick on vacation... but he still worked over 100 hours the week before we left... :confused3 Really no surprise he got very sick.

Day 3 ~ the day of Princesses! Part 1

We got up and dressed the girls in their princess dresses. Zoe looked so beautiful in her perfectly fitting Belle dress and Mena so pretty in her Cinderella dress. We got to Epcot and asked where the early dining line was ~ they told us to use any line since the park was about to open. So we got in line and waited a long time. We finally got in only to be stopped just past SE waiting for the park to “open” there was a manager standing there and he said we would have to just wait that we couldn’t be let through for our ADR. We still made it there pretty much to close to on time. We only waited maybe two or three minutes before they called us to do pictures. I couldn’t believe that we got TWO sets of pictures! Yeah! One for Z and one for Mimi. Of course Z is afraid of the characters so I wasn’t expecting much from her. Mimi went first and was perfectly awesome at posing and smiling and hugging as usual! Then it was Z’s turn and I told her to go over and see Belle. Well she ran right up and hugged and showed Belle the button with a picture of Belle that she had on her dress and kept saying “See Belle?” We got great pictures of both the girls with Belle ~ and really with all the princesses.

I don’t really like the food at Norway ~ and while on my way to the cold buffet I noticed a table had Mickey Waffles…. So I asked if we could have some too. The server said it was for people with allergies but she would see what she could do. We did end up getting a plateful. The girls both ate about 3 sausages each ~ thinking they were hot dogs. Funny little girls. Dan was starting to feel crappy so we sent him on his way back to the hotel.

We went to see Journey and had NO wait of course. There really never is. Then we played in the Imagination lab for a while before checking out Honey I Shrunk the Audience ~ I am guessing SOMETHING scared Z because she tucked in and went to sleep. When we came out Z was still sleeping so I put her in the stroller and Mimi ran and played with the water stuff for about an hour or so while Z slept and mom talked on her cell phone and I took dozens of pictures (man I need to charge my cam and download pictures).

When Z woke up Mimi was just about asleep so I put her in the stroller and walked her around…. No go on the nap ~ so we decided to go look at the fish at Nemo and Friends. We didn’t ride the ride just looked around. Turtle Talk was loading and we had just about the right amount of time so we checked it out. Mom had never seen it before and thought it was hilarious! Z and Mimi sat down in the front with the kids. I was so relieved that Mimi didn’t get called on about the bikini top ~ because she would have been pretty graphic about what the “bra” was for since she seems to be **** obsessed lately. Sigh she isn’t even four and wants them. Anyway ~ thankfully they asked a little boy and not my Mimi!

Now it was time to head over to Coral Reef for lunch where Mimi insisted she wanted to have Fish of the day. So I ordered that for both the girls. Mimi had a HUGE meltdown again ( I am starting to see a pattern of being hungry and melting down, mental note made to self). I took her out of the restaurant and let her know that it was time to make a better choice and if she wanted me to I would help her. She was still freaking out but I finally got her settled enough to go back in. When we got there our apps had come out. I got the Lobster Stew and mom got the Shrimp and Lobster Cake - served over napa cabbage slaw with a sweet and spicy Vietnamese vinaigrette Creamy Lobster Soup - chervil and brandy. Mimi decided she wanted to try my soup and LOVED it. She ate most of it. Moms came with three cakes and Mimi ate a whole one of those too. Then lunches came…. Mom and I both had the Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with roasted potatoes, watercress and tomatoes tossed in caramelized shallot vinaigrette and the girls had the fish of the day. So I am looking at Mimi’s fish and thinking “is that salmon” (if you haven’t been to Coral Reef it is pretty dark in there) so I thought nah it is a kids meal. I finally asked mom who said “nah ~ it is a kids meal” so she tastes it and YUP! It is salmon AND she said it was REALLY fishy too! But the girls both ate it all and liked it… so there you have it ~ my kids officially do NOT have a kid’s palette! We took our desserts to go and headed to the hotel as I was feeling sick now too.

When we got to the hotel it was about 2:30 and I had DH call and move Mimi’s BBB appointment from 4:00 to 5:30 and it was at DD. I slept until 4:45 ~ and felt a “little” better.

UP NEXT: BBB and CRT

I feel so bad for your husband getting sick on vacation  Last year before my vacation, I kept feeling like I was coming down with a cold so I kept putting drops of hydrogen peroxide in my ears every 4 hours and it helped until my 3rd day there (I forgot to bring some with me and I couldn't find any in the general store at BWV so I ended up getting a really bad sore throat, swollen tonsils, headache and fever). I felt horrible that whole next day and when we came home, I went straight to my medicine cabinet and took more drops and it went away. It's hard to rest before your vacation cuz you're trying to get so much done but it's worse to actually get sick while at WDW. I hope the meds kick in and your hubby feels better so he can enjoy his vacation! Plus I hope no one else caught it!

Claire is obsessed about "knockers" too, for lack of a better word that will get *'d out anyways. LOL! She keeps asking me if hers are getting big yet. LOL! :sad2: must be the age. :confused3
Yes, we want to see your pictures. Get the camera charged girlfriend!
I really want to try Coral Reef some day. The thing is we never do park hoppers and Epcot has so many cool restuarants to try. But we can only do 1 a trip. And now I want to try Akershus for breakfast some trip too. LOL!

Day 3 Part 2

Okay so I woke up from my nap feeling a “little” better. Mom and Mena and I headed to Downtown Disney and began the hunt for BBB ~ man could they bury it any deeper??? We finally had to ask someone and they escorted us through the store to boutique. Mena was SO excited (though you won’t be able to tell in the following pictures). I let her pick her own hairstyle ~ so she was happy about that! She sat so nice and quiet and just looked around absorbing it all! We didn’t wait barely two minutes!

So here are some pictures (finally!):

So next we headed over to Magic Kingdom to meet up with Dan and Zoe ~ they had done the TTA and Carousel of Progress each twice and also the Speedway once and Z was asleep in her carriage.

Mena decided she wanted to ride Cinderella’s Carousel before we checked in for dinner. Zoe was awake now so she and I rode together and Mom rode too! It was a lot of fun:

We checked in for dinner and still had to wait quite a bit but got in line for our pictures which Mimi’s came out good and Z’s were kind of bad b/c I left Daddy to dress her! LOL!

IMG_6563.JPG

We got sat by the window and after being there for about two minutes the fireworks started. Z could care less (she was coloring) but Mimi kept saying “beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!) She loves fireworks! We actually had a FANTASTIC view from the Castle even though we were told by many that we would NOT be able to see them from inside the Castle… so totally WRONG!

Just a few pictures!

So we finished Dinner and the girls and mom went down to the Balcony/Stage area where they were able to watch the entire Spectromagic where Mimi kept saying “Amazingly awesome!” and Z kept frantically signing more!

Oh we also saw some mice!

I was feeling really crappy so we headed back to the hotel and I took one of DH’s tamiflu  Yes I know this is wrong…. But I needed it!

What is it with this obsession?! She always has to say who has then and who doesn't..... and wants to know when she will get some. She always tells people you don't need to where a bra to sleep. I swear sometimes she is so embarassing to me!!! :rotfl:

YAY!! Pictures. I would like to DTD BBB. I had heard it is usually much faster. She looks so cute. Such a perfect princess. Did you bring the dress from home then? It looks very pretty.

Where is the balcony area you watched Spectro from? I would've loved to have an opportunity to see the fireworks from inside the castle. We were just a half hour or so too late. LOL! :rolleyes1

We did bring her dress from home. It was actually her Halloween costume last year. :)

I guess it is more of the Stage like area at the front of the Castle. Like right in front of the tunnel. It was a great view!!

Fireworks from the Castle were AWESOME! They even piped in the music and people were clapping and cheering! I definately will book CRT in Sept at the same time hoping for Fireworks!

lol, wait until she is a teenager!!

What adorable daughters you have!! I hope your DH starts to mend and the flu medicine helps you fight off a full blown attack!!!

Day 4

Okay so we were supposed to go to the Crystal Palace for breakfast ~ but since my nieces were coming EARLY we decided to just eat at the cafeteria and wait for them. Well they got there about 9:30 and everyone wanted to go swimming. So we got everyone in their swimsuits and headed to the pool. My youngest niece (almost 3) refused to go in the water because she thought it was too cold. So she played outside the pool with the buckets and shovels we brought.

We had lunch reservations at the Grand Floridian Café. I have to say it was VERY good! I had a lobster burger ~ it was a burger with lobster on top of it as well as asparagus. I of course took it apart and ate it as individual pieces! The girls all had Mac and Cheese except Mimi who wanted Steak (told you she was odd). Once we were done lunch we headed over to MK.

When we got there we were easily able to see: Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, me – dan- Mimi – niece Jackie went on BTMRR while mom – maddie and z went to see Country Bear Jamboree. We also saw Monsters Inc laugh floor. Mena was laughing and clapping so she got “spotlighted” at which point she waved excited to see herself on the TV ~ but then tucked her head into my arm and refused to talk. So I got to talk for her. Silly little thing!

Our dinner reservation were over to 1900 Park Fare ~ I LOVE their buffet! They have a tomato mozzarella salad that I just adore!! We didn’t end up getting a whole lot of great pictures because there was so much to do with four little girls! I felt like I was always taking someone to the buffet! Having them outnumber is definitely NOT a great idea! ;)

My Mimi tried the Strawberry Soup offered here and LOVED it! I am telling you ~ she is just a strange child!

Here are some we did get:

Thank you so much! I did take another Tamiflu and I think totally avoided being sick. I still felt it a little but with some Tylenol I did just fine.

DH was better by day four and was able to spend the entire day with us (although we didn't do a whole lot so I think that helped)
