Isn't it nice to have an extra day to do some relaxing and get some things done? I am sure enjoying this week, because every week after this until we go back to school has something going on.

Congratulations to Cody for his scholarships!

That first day feeling - aaaaah!

I love having 3 day weekends. I keep saying that I do not know whose idea it was to work 5 days a week & have only 2 off. Just does not seem fair.

It was a nice surprise to all of us that he received 2 scholarships. We knew one would be for soccer & then he received one that was in memory of a past teacher at the high school. Some of his friends received LOTS but will need them as one is going into pre med.

I'd love a New England Dis meet up!

We need to try & start setting something up for a meet. That would be a lot of fun!!

Yes DH & I are so proud. You try so hard to bring them up right & hope they turn out ok. There are so many negative forces out there that it is not easy. We have always been there for both of them & we feel very lucky!!

Yes a NE Dis meet would be great! I guess we would need to see who all would be interested & maybe try and find a convenient place that would work for everyone. I am thinking somewhere in MA. would work.

What a LOUSY weekend weather wise. I am hoping & praying for nice weather this coming Friday as Cody graduates & we are hoping it is outside!! And hoping for nice weather Saturday for his graduation party. I would like to have everyone be able to sit out on our back deck. Hopefully not everyone will be here at once as I made it as an open house from 12:00-4:00.

Ok since it has been raining here all weekend I figured I could get going on this TR. Let's get started on our first full day..

So during the night on our first night we lost power. I woke up because our fan went off & I always wake up if the fan goes off. I called down to see what was going on & they told me it would be for just a little bit as they had to fix something. When we got our wake up call around 7:15 we had our power back.

We went to the lounge for breakfast & then headed to AK. Here are some pics I took as we headed to the bus stop

We got to AK around 8:30.

And there is the tree

Once the park opened we headed to the ride we always head to first

We walked right on

We fastpassed it but went into the standby line & had a very short wait

When we got off the ride the second time I realized I had NO sunglasses!! I walked back into the store & checked with the CM. She checked & came out with my sunglasses. I was so relieved!!! They are prescription sunglasses so it would not have been good at all to loose those! I think they fell off the string I had them on that was around my neck. I was so careful for the rest of the week after that!

Now I bought this T shirt on the right & when I got home & unpacked I could NOT find it!!! I cannot figure out what happened. I checked the bureaus 3 times when we packed up so I do not know what happened but I do not have this shirt.

Doreen, great updates. LOVE the theme by Expedition Everest, but not the ride. IF and that is a BIG IF I am going to do it, it has to be first thing in the morning.

Your EE redneck photos reminded me of another "bump" I got during our trip. I'll have to add that into my TR in my next update! It involved my head on EE!

Bummer about the shirt! I bought a new shirt from the same shop & wear it a lot. I love it because it doesn't scream Disney.

I'm soooo glad they found your sunglasses!! As a prescription sunglass wearer, I can totally understand your panic! When we went to Typhoon Lagoon, I wore my old pair because I was afraid of losing or breaking them. It was a little strange trying to adjust to the old prescription and then back to the new one at the end of the day!

On our way back to EE we saw Devine

After riding EE again we decided to go see this

I love birds & always enjoy this show. We decided to have ice cream for lunch. We had an early ADR for dinner at Boma so we did not want to eat a whole lot for lunch.

After ice creams we walked the Maharajah Jungle Trek

The tigers are my absolute favorite!!

We haven't seen Flights of Wonder in quite a while. Maybe this summer? Brooklynn would enjoy seeing it again, and I'm sure Bella was a tiny baby when we saw it last.

Too bad you can't find the T-shirt
Its a really pretty shirt...have you checked your luggage? One trip I left some clothes in a front pocket and only find out when I went to pack for another trip...

I love the Tigers! you got some really good pics. The gift shops looked like they had some really cool things...I would have had a hard time picking out something to buy.

Love the ride pics! Your boys made some funny pcitures! I can never find the spot on the rides where they take the pictures...I have seen some really funny pics here on the DIS. I keep saying that next time I will figure out the spot and do something funny.
