This coming trip we have scheduled a few 8 a.m. breakfast in the parks.
Crystal palace, Tusker House and Akershus.
We are staying at POFQ and were hoping to bus it to these ADR's since they are in the parks and not resorts.
How early do we need to be at the bus stop to be there on time?
When do the buses start to come to the stop at POFQ or any resort?

Thanks everyone:goodvibes

From past experiece...take a cab.

We have been to the bus stop as early as 6am and never found a bus for a character meal until 7:30 and that still made us late to the breakfasts....after the third time I learned my lesson and I drive or cab it to the parks.

I agree about taking a cab. We usually leave at least an hour for travel from the resort to the parks and on our last trip, we were burned each time we had an early ADR. We ended up taking a cab each time at the last minute.

I believe that busses used to run one hour prior to park opening and two hours after park closing, so if Epcot doesn't open until 9am, I don't believe you would make your Akershus reservation on time. I would check the park opening hours for your breakfast dates, and then make decisions on which days to use taxi service. Another thought is, that if the Magic Kingdom opens earlier than Epcot, you could take a Magic Kingdom bus, and then take the monorail from the MK to Epcot. It depends on whether you have more time than money. Good luck to you whatever you decide.

We were at POFQ two years ago, we had both an 0805 at Crystal Palace and Akershus and took bus transport both times. We arrived in plenty of time for both. If you are worried though, then maybe take the taxi.

I've bussed to several 8 am breakfasts from several resorts and never had a problem. Be at the bus stop by 7. They no longer send out character dining buses, just regular park buses. Never stayed at PO, only values(all of them).

From POR we were there by 7.20 and got there in time for MK and AK. At AKL I asked the CM what time the bus would be there, she didn't know and tried to find out, as she couldn't AKL paid for our taxi to MK - nice perk!

We stay at POFQ and I always make 8 am or 8:30 breakfast reservations (same places that you said). We've never really had any problems. We usually get to the bus around 7:15 or a little later.

We were late to Akershus, but that is because I was taking advantage of an empty park. I love taking pictures of my DD when there aren't other people in the shot. Anyhow, we were about 15 minutes late. I checked in and we got seated about 5 minutes later. I don't like being late, but I love the pictures I took.

We did this last year while staying at the pop. Got to the stop at 715, got right on a bus within 5 minutes at were at the park long before it opened for the early adrs.

I have a question about park entry for early characte ADRs. This is our first time to the princess breakfast in Epcot. What do I need to enter the park for an 8:15 ressie. The confirmation number or some other proof of my reservation?

Thanks.

Try to be through bag check by 7:45 if you can. You'll need time to stop & check-in, scan your tickets & then walk to the World Showcase (a good 10 min. hike, more with little ones. And allow a couple of minutes to snap a few pics in the near-empty park.)

There will be one line that's for breakfast entry only (you'll need your park ticket, of course) All they ask for is just your name...they will have a list of people who have reservations (and they may or may not even look at it...we've had them actually checking our name off a list; we've also had them just tell us to put our park ticket in the reader & away we go.)

You will have to swipe your park ticket like normal, and once you're in the park, there will be ropes blocking off areas & people showing you how to get to where you're going (although you can stop & take pictures along the way, you're not allowed to wander all over. It's a fairly direct path to the restaurant.):thumbsup2

Everytime we had an 8 a.m. breakfast ADR, we took the bus. Got on a little after 7 and had no problem. But we've had excellent bus mojo and I know that not everyone has had the same experience. We did take a cab for our a 7:45 ADR at Cape May, though. Going from resort to resort is kinda tough that early in the morning.

We've had several 8 am ADR's and have always used the buses. Never had a problem. As long as you grab the bus between 7 & 7:15 you'll be fine. In fact thats always left us with some waiting time before they let us in to the parks. Gives you plenty of time for pictures of the empty park too!

I completely agree with this post. I took have been at the bus stop well before 7am for an 815am ADR....every single time the bus would come at 730am. THIS IS VERY VERY ANNOYING. Thats why for this upcoming trip, i only booked one breakfast ADR, and thats at 935am (cape may). hahaha. I definitely would take a cab if I had an 8am ADR to be honest. Dont learn the hard way like we did!!

We've done a few 8am breakfasts (at MK, AK and DHS), always take the buses and have never had a problem. I try to be at the bus stop an hour early, so around 7am or shortly after.

We've found that we prefer late breakfasts, so now we book the last available seating and consider it brunch. :goodvibes
