8/19/06 Western Special and Reward $'s

We're planning our 1st cruise. After about a dozen trips to The World, thought it was time to try a cruise. We received a quote from Costco for about $500 less than the Disney quote. I'd like to use my Disney Reward $'s (from my Disney Visa) towards the purchase. Can I do this if I don't book through Disney? We're going with a Cat. 8, Deck 6. My kids want deck 5 because it's near the kids clubs. I prefer to be higher. Would appreciate any feedback on cabin location. I called Disney and they seem to think I'll be able to use my Disney Rewards Points even if I book through Costco. It's worth taking a chance considering the $500 diff. How does $4,680 2 adults 2 kids cat. 8 sound? I realize we might have done even better if we'd booked earler but we just decided on this trip. Still trying to decide between Deck 5 or 6. Appreciate any feedback. Maggie

On your location:

Deck 5 is great, less staterooms=less hallway noise, traffic etc...Clubs, movies all on same deck..

Deck 6 is also great, laundry on floor...Midway to most things..Pools on deck 9, dining rooms just a couple floors down...

My personal opinion is you could not go wrong with either floor, I just prefer 6 for some reason..I think it is because this was our first floor on our first cruise...AND, i LOVE the deck 7 aft (semi-private) overlook....We use this a ton, eat there, suntan there, chat there...

Even if you can't use the rewards dollars for the cruise you can use them for on board purchases so you will still get to take advantage of them. I loved deck 6. Great location. You are right above the clubs so not far at all. Plus you would be higher as you wish to have.

Costco should be able to take your Rewards card toward payment. The payment ultimately goes to Disney and whether they get them the info by phone or internet, there is a spot for the agent to use the Rewards card.
