Just a little update on our lives...

Jeff had his appt this morning and they did give him the shot in his shoulder but did not give him an Rx for anything for inflammation like I'd hoped. They also scheduled him with a physical therapist but it's at a local gym (the one we had a 3yr membership but it ended in Dec 2006 LOL) and I'm not sure if the therapist there accepts insurance. So this may end up being costly. :(

Meanwhile I have to contact my dr ASAP because I have something very scary going on right now. VERY scary- like bad scary (not like pregnant scary- that can't happen anyway! LOL)
Any prayers you can throw my way would be MUCH appreciated. :(

The shots in the shoulders are very painful!!! I hope you are doing better by now!!!:grouphug: You are in my prayers.

We're not quite that warm, but we're at 41 now, and by Saturday we are supposed to be in the 60's!! :cool1: :cool1:

Maybe spring is coming after all!! :thumbsup2
So maybe we'll let the groundhog live another day...:rotfl:

It's only 16 here:sad1: I hope it warms up soon.

Morning,

And I thought I was talkative! Will be going on this cruise next year too. Haven't posted here (other than to say hello to Mary Rose, Tina, Andy, etc) on this thread but saw that it was probably time to post.

Before I went on our first cruise (and first visit to the US) last year, I met the most fantastic people here and on the other board, too many to mention, who made my whole holiday an amazing experience. Everyone was so so nice to us. For that reason we decided to go on the med cruise and then to book the Panama cruise too, and we are so looking forward to it. I rang and got my rate for HOJO yesterday and was thrilled because living in Ireland, there is no way on earth I would be able to get local insider information as I do from knowing all these people.

I don't know who sent that PM to you guys yesterday, and I know that plenty more don't either (they have said it publically) but it is certainly working towards a "Them versus Us" culture, which would be a terrible shame. Rather than selling the positives of another site, it is making you doubt the people there, and that is not right.

MR, you said "they are trying to get a rise", I promise you it is not "they". Some want to post here, some want to post there and some like me want to post in both, but it should be a choice, not a directive, by anyone.

I want to be able to hold my head up and say hello to everyone and meet like minded people who pay a lot of money to enjoy the short amount of time we get off each year, not to worry about the " what group are you with" scenario.

I currently post and plan on a different site, because it suits me, and that's what it's about. Choice.

Now to those that know me, it's quite short really!:rotfl2:

Have a nice Wednesday!:grouphug:

Hello & thank you. You have confirmed what I posted last night...that this person is not speaking for everyone.

Hi Everybody,

Just checking in after a long couple of weeks. I read all of the 12,000 posts that I missed. (Well OK, I read the summaries of the 12,000 posts that I missed.) I hate when real life gets in the way of important things like the DIS. I'm enjoying my Spring Break... especially with the wind chill in the teens and the snow coming down!

Andy, hope you're keeping warm out there. At least it's supposed to get back up to the 50's this weekend.

Lisa, thanks for all that you do here on the DIS!

And thanks to all of you that post here and make everybody feel welcome. Even us low-posting slackers! By the way, this is my 100th post to this thread. As you can see by my post count, that's a big deal for me! Looking forward to seeing you all on the Trip Of A Lifetime!

BIP, sending prayers for both you and your DH.

Hopefully, I'll talk to you all soon.

Hi Mike! Good to see you.

:( All right - who moved the little whistling smiley? Did I do it? Its gone. :(

If per chance I did it - how did I do it and can anyone tell me how to bring it back?

Oh Yeah! Does anyone else find it funny that Capt Crash's list keeps getting smaller and smaller... and smaller?

Just wondering :scratchin

LOL! You didn't do anything to move the smilies around. This seems to happen daily to see if we are paying attention. ;)

Hey There Mike,

It's been a blast walking around all morning in the sn*w, NOT!!!

Ketchup from 40 pages ago...

Well - I think we should plan on some pick-up poker games (no gambling, just for fun) and maybe some other stuff. I'll bring a couple of decks of cards. I always found that talk was so much easier while playing a friendly game of cards.

M is going to want to play Euchre..........

Yes, euchre. Please euchre. If we play poker I'm gonna need to check everyone's driver's license!

I was at a Western Regional Conference for the big non-profit I work for & there was about 5-6 people playing nickel-dime-quarter $5 buy-in poker in the hospitality room. I'm not good at poker, but for $5 I decided to play. Well, after about 5 hands, I realized that I was playing with 4 staff members from the Las Vegas organization! OOPS!

DARN...only 1 number....guess i'll have to pay for the cruise the old fashioned way.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Go Visa!

:happytv: Ah...look at lil grumpy sasquatch. Was that after a night doing the Court Street Shuffle?

Ahhh, the shuffle. Been there done that.

3X.

Okay Liz, I keep telling my self it is only 5 years more, it is only 5 years more. :woohoo: We are looking for propety this September somewhere near Orlando. I then will also give great weather reports instead of freezing here and snow everywhere.:rotfl2:

I can retire and receive my full pension in three years and three months, we already have a place in Florida, about one hour north of WDW!!!!! ;)

Wishing you all the best until your retirement can begin!!! ;)

OK folks, lunchtime is coming to an end, I've got to get back out in the elements and make a living for my family.

Does this mean there is a nasty little smiliey fairy running around and changing the order just to throw us off kilter ????

I got the ummmm, invitation too. I've mulled over sending responses from "please remove me from your e-mail list" to very long, detailed, articulate, treatises on the spirit of Walt, free choice, compromise and acting like a grown-up.

I am not sending anything. I would guess that just as about 95% of us here have no idea how or why any of this started (or dare I say care?), most of their posters would be in the same situation.

I their site doesn't have the same rules as here and they are giping about our site or conspiring to recruit us for watever reason, well, I just don't think that would be a fun way to spend the next 18 months.

I have enough drama and politics in my life - thank you very much.
I just want a fruity drink with an umbrella, a Mickey Bar & the trip of a lifetime with my family and my new friends (who will be old friends by then!)

Love ya Lisa! Thanks for all you are doing for us!

Moira - excellent post - I couldnt agree more. I have also made many friends by belonging to both sites and have wonderful memories of the cruises I have taken with these people. I have been a member of that other site since its inception and I have never heard of that person who is supposedly sending these emails. I can assure you that the vast majority of people at that other site are great people who truly just want to go on vacation and have a wonderful time. We are all going to be on the same ship for 15 days - CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!!

Now granted, I do post more over there but thats because I just cant keep up here - YOU ALL TALK ALOT :rotfl2: .

I think we can all agree that we are spending a lot of money to go on this cruise and none of us should have to deal with petty BS when there are so many more important things in life.

May be this needs repeating!!! Enough said!!!

We Are Family!!!!

Well Hello My Old Pal Moira!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to post. The first thing I would like to say is my comment "They are trying to get a rise out of us" pertains to more than just another forum. I am reading things in other places too....but that is a matter for another day.....Andy has posted our group pic from our August cruise. I treasure that picture and that pic has near equal amounts of both groups of people. Honestly, life is too short for things like this. I know, have cruised with, and very much like many of you guys. That is not the issue and I think you guys know it too. No one here, and no one there, I'm sure, wants an us vs. them feeling on our Cruise. I feel that I can speak for everyone here when I say that. It's the negative bent of the emails that we cannot stomach.

Now, if you say you guys don't know who sending them, I will believe that, but is there no way of stopping it? Does it anger you guys that someone is sending disparaging emails in the name of your group?

For a moment, I need to speak frankly about myself here........I am spending a fortune on this cruise.......it could very well be the last cruise my family travels on as a family unit as we know it, as our daughter will be half way through college by then. I cannot and will not let myself be dragged into anything......If our cruise is spent with me looking over my shoulder or trying to avoid people......well let's just say......my family would be beyond very upset and leave it at that.

I mean it when I say that we all really need to get along or at least be able to coexist onboard. I do appreciate that fact that you stuck your neck out over here Moira. I have nothing but fond memories of our last DIS thread and cruise and I am really looking forward to cruising with you and your family again!

Well I need to go to work now, but I hope I didn't overstep my boundaries.......

No need to edit this, MR. I think that you expressed what most of us are feeling. Things have happened in the past that didn't even involve most of us on this cruise now. We do have to go by guidelines that were set up because of that history. We are all people however and I don't see the need for increasing any kind of division between any groups who will be on the ship.

I admitted that before this cruise I did have a narrow view of "that group" and lumped everyone associated with the site together. If one person posted something about me...everyone was to blame. Booking this cruise forced me to reevaluate that thinking...which is why I reached out and tried to bridge the gap and communicate with some of those who are members of both groups. I now realize that there are some who are extreme...but they don't post here.

Talking with those who do as two parents concerned about their family's vacation...a very expensive vacation...made me realize that we have more in common than different. While we may not all join hands on deck 10 singing Kumbaya on the cruise, I hope that we can at least respect each other enough to be able to coexist in the same space for 15 days and get off the ship with only regrets that they are making us leave...not for anything that may have happened as the result of any of this.
